Global Stamping Friends December Blog Hop The Card's In The Mail

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends December Blog Hop and this month it's all about getting those cards in the mail. As cardmakers, we all love making cards, but we aren't always the best and sending them out to the people we care about. Our small but mighty Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to not only create your own beautiful cards, but to also mail them out to family and friends.
This time of year, it can be easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and sometimes we forget to check in with the people in our lives who may be struggling. For some people, the holidays are a time of loneliness and remembering those they have lost. So I thought I would share a clean and simple card design featuring the beautiful Meandering Meadows 6"x6" Designer Series Paper, that you can create to send to people to let them know that you care and that they are not alone. I love the impressionistic feeling of the designs in this pretty paper pack and I chose one that gave me a feeling of peace and serenity. I paired it with Thick Basic White Cardstock for the card base to try and create the look of the cards you often see in the Art Museum gift shops with reprints of famous art designs. A simple sentiment has been embossed with Gold to step up the design but not overwhelm it. This way, the person receiving it could display it on their mantle or shelf as a reminder that they are loved.
Products Used:
Very Best Occasions stamp set (item #159871)
Double Oval Punch (item #154242)
Meandering Meadows 6"x6" Designer Series Paper (item #162735)
Thick Basic White Cardstock (item #159229)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Metallics Embossing Powders (item #155555)
Festive Pearls (item #159963)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Thick Basic White Cardstock
Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Basic White Cardstock
Oval Sentiment Label punched out with the Double Oval Punch
Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
This beautiful clean and simple card design is easy to duplicate with any of the designs in this paper pack. The secret to getting the best card front is to look at the design and determine if it works best as a portrait or landscape card front. Once you have decided that, you can then cut the card front accordingly to 5 1/4" x 4 to suit the orientation you have chosen. You could choose to heat emboss your sentiment directly onto the card front before attaching it to the card base to simplify the design even further. I chose instead to heat emboss the image with Gold embossing powder onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock and punched it out with the Double Oval Punch. I attached it to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up and then added some Gold Festive Pearls to finish off the design. I love the feeling of peace this card design gives me when I look at it and I hope that the person receiving it will feel that too.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to create your own beautiful cards and send them out to the people you love. It's a wonderful thing to send happy mail to people to help brighten their day. Stamping Inkspirations November Blog Hop Color Challenge

It's time to hop along with the Stamping Inkspirations November Blog Hop and this month we have a fun color challenge to share. Our Design Team has been challenged to use 3-5 colors from the image below to create our project. The colors for this Color Challenge are Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Granny Apple Green, Crumb Cake and Azure Afternoon. I am excited to see what projects and ideas everyone has to share this month.
For my card design, I chose to use all the colors to create a cute and fun birthday card featuring the new Furriest Friends Bundle from the Online Exclusives. I just love all the adorable animal images and today I decided to use the cute bear for my card. I paired it with the Azure Afternoon Striped Designer Series Paper pattern from the Brights 6"x6" Designer Series Paper pack. For the coloring, I pulled out my Watercolor pencils to give the bear and soft, fluffy look.
Products Used:
Fluffiest Friends Bundle (item #162850)
Very Best Occasions stamp set (item #159871)
Deckled Circles Dies (item #162286)
Double Oval Punch (item #154242)
Brights 6"x6" Designer Series Paper (item #161643)
Crumb Cake Cardstock (item #120953)
Granny Apple Green Cardstock (item #146990)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Memento Tuxedo Black Pad (item #132708)
Watercolor Pencils Assortment 1 (item #161700)
Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 (item #149014)
Blender Pens (item #102845)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Crumb Cake Cardstock
Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Basic White Cardstock
Medium Circle die cut with the Deckled Circles Dies
Bear image stamped and die cut with the Fluffiest Friends Bundle
Sentiment Label punched out with the Double Oval Punch
Granny Apple Green Cardstock
Grass die cut with the Fluffiest Friends Dies
Scalloped Oval punched out with the Double Oval Punch
Azure Afternoon Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x4"
This cute card was so much fun to create and I love how the colors from this color challenge worked together to create a bright and cheerful design. I chose to use Crumb Cake for my card base to help ground the design. I love the Azure Afternoon diagonal striped designer series paper for the background, which gave the feeling of blue skies in the background. I added a Deckled Circle in the bottom left corner and trimmed the edges flush with the card front. I added a piece of Granny Apple Green grass that I die cut with the Fluffiest Friends Dies to add some texture to the design. For the bear, I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the bear using the Early Espresso Watercolor pencil to give his fur a more realistic look. I colored the honey pot with the Granny Apple Green Watercolor Pencil and the honey with the Crushed Curry Watercolor Pencil. I carefully blended the colored areas using a Blender Pen to help smooth out the pencil lines and give the image a watercolor look. I attached the bear to the corner using Stampin' Dimensionals to pop him up. For the sentiment, I stamped the Happy Birthday image from the Very Best Occasions stamp set, using Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White cardstock and punched it out using the Double Oval Punch. I layered it onto a Granny Apple Green scalloped oval that I punched out using the Double Oval Punch and then added it to the top right corner with Stampin' Dimensionals. I decided not to add any bling to this card design, choosing to keep it clean and simple.

Around The World On Wednesday September Blog Hop Let's Take A Walk

Welcome to the Around The World On Wednesday September Blog Hop and this month our theme is "Let's Take A Walk". Here in Colorado, the weather is getting cooler and there is a definite feeling of Fall in the air. It's the perfect weather for taking a walk and enjoying the beautiful world around us. The leaves are slowly starting to change colors and my neighbors are already decorating their homes for the new season.
One of our family's favorite places to visit is the Rocky Mountain National Park, which is about an hour's drive from our home. It's a great place to hike and explore, no matter the season. For my card design, I chose to use one of the designs from the A Walk In The Forest Designer Series Paper for the background, to look like the forests in the national park. I fussy cut one of the sweet brown bears from another sheet in this paper pack to represent the animals that live there. This clean and simple birthday card works well as a masculine design and is easy to assemble.
Products Used:
Very Best Occasions stamp set (item #159871)
A Walk In The Forest Designer Series Paper (item #162377)
Double Oval Punch (item #154242)
Garden Green Cardstock (item #102584)
Pretty Peacock Cardstock (item #150880)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Basics Embossing Powders (item #155554)
Linen Thread (item #104199)
Brushed Metallic Dots (item #156506)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Garden Green Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Scalloped Oval punched with the Double Oval Punch
Pretty Peacock Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5" x 3 3/4"
Sentiment Oval punched with the Double Oval Punch
A Walk In The Forest Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"
Bear fussy cut with Paper Snips
For this nature themed birthday card, I chose to use two of the greens featured in the designer series paper - Garden Green and Pretty Peacock. I love how they look together and they create a wonderful frame for the designer series paper layer. I heat embossed the sentiment with White embossing powder onto the Pretty Peacock sentiment oval and layered it onto the scalloped Garden Green oval to frame it. I wound a piece of Linen Thread twice around the card front and tied a knot at the front. I layered the sentiment ovals over the top and attached it with Stampin' Dimensionals to the card front. I added the bear to the bottom right corner with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop him up and add dimension to the card design. To finish off the card, I added two of the Copper Brushed Metallic Dots to the sentiment oval to step up the design.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will inspire you take a walk and see how it inspires you to get creative. With the changing of the seasons, it's the perfect time to get out and experience the world around you. This year, Stampin' Up! is donating $3 from every pack of  A Walk In The Forest Designer Series Paper sold to support organizations to spread cheer and provide support to those in need. In the U.S. the charity is the Marines Toys For Tots. It's a wonderful way to help make a difference through creativity.

Stamping Inkspirations September Blog Hop Fun Folds Favorites

Welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations September Blog Hop as we share our favorite Fun Fold card designs with you all. Our wonderful Design Team Members will be sharing their beautiful projects and ideas to help inspire you to explore creating your own Fun Fold card designs.
There are so many wonderful Fun Folds to choose from and I love exploring new ideas and techniques to create them. One of my favorite Fun Folds is the Easel card and I recently learned of a new twist from fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Susan Campfield, called the Vertical Easel card. So for today's Fun Fold design, I chose to create a Fall themed Vertical Easel card using the Cheerful Basket Bundle from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog combined with the beautiful new Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper in the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. I love the warm muted colors of Fall and this was a fun card to design.
Products Used:
Cheerful Basket Bundle
Layering Circles Dies
Double Oval Punch
Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper
Crumb Cake Cardstock
Old Olive Cardstock
Poppy Parade Cardstock
Basic White Cardstock
Memento Tuxedo Black Pad
Soft Suede Classic Ink Pad
Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Combo Pack
Old Olive Stampin' Blends Combo Pack
Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends Combo Pack
Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Combo Pack
Linen Thread
Measurements:
Crumb Cake Cardstock
Card Base 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Scored at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4"
Large Scalloped Circle die cut with Layering Circles Dies
Basic White Cardstock
Large Circle die cut with Layering Circles Dies
Stamped and die cut basket and apples images using Cheerful Basket Bundle
Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper
1 pieces - 2" x 5 3/8"
Small picnic triangle die cut with the Full Basket Dies
Old Olive Cardstock
4 leaves die cut with the Full Basket Dies
Poppy Parade Cardstock
3 apples die cut with the Full Basket Dies
I have often created Easel cards in the traditional layout but this was the first time that I had tried a vertical style version. I wanted to create a clean and simple Fall themed card and I just love the beautiful colors and designs in the new Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper. For the focal image, I loved the idea of a basket full of apples that might have been just harvested from the local orchard. I colored the images with Stampin' Blends Markers to create the beautiful colors. The small picnic napkin that peeks out over the side of the basket, was die cut with one of the dies from the Cheerful Basket bundle and I chose to use the reverse side of the designer series paper that I used for the background of the card front panels. For the anchor on the inside of the card, I die cut some leaves and apples and attached them to the layered ovals that I punched out with the Double Oval Punch. I attached it to the right side of the inside panel using Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up to give the front a place to rest against. I didn't add a sentiment to the front but instead stamped one on the inside of the card. I just love this alternative style for the Easel card and look forward to creating more of these in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to explore the wonderful world of Fun Folds and help you find your own favorites to create.
