SBTD Blog Hop Sale-a-bration Occasions Catalog

Welcome to the SBTD (Stampers By The Dozen) Blog Hop as we celebrate Sale-a-bration and the New 2018 Occasions Catalog. We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world, sharing our projects and ideas to help inspire you. Sale-a-bration is my favorite time of the year and I can't wait to share with you some of the amazing new products available in the Sale-a-bration and Occasions catalogs.

One of my favorite Sale-a-bration products is the new Party Pandas stamp set. These pandas are just so cute you can't help but love them. My two cards show how you can use the images with products from the Picture Perfect Party Suite. I chose the Picture Perfect Party 6"x6" Designer Series Paper and the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set to help showcase the Pandas.

For the first card, I cut a 1" strip from one of the 6"x6" pieces of the Picture Perfect Party DSP. The great thing about this paper pack is that one side features a realistic photographic image and the reverse side has a coordinating print. I attached it to the edge of a layer of Whisper White cardstock and layered a piece of 3/8" Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon along the edge of the DSP. I then stamped the panda image and the sentiment with Basic Black Archival ink. For a little extra color, I used the Watercolor Pencils to color in the balloon and the "ground" around the bottom of the panda image. Finally, I layered the Whisper White layer onto a Pool Party card base.

My 2nd card features the reverse side of the same sheet of Designer Series Paper and I once again attached it to a piece of Whisper White cardstock and a piece of 3/8" Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon. This time I fussy cut out the image of the panda and attached it to a circle of Pink Pirouette cardstock cut out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits using Mini Dimensionals. I then attached the circle to the Whisper White cardstock with Dimensionals. I colored the panda's party hat with Stampin' Blend Markers and then added Wink of Stella to the Party hat and the black areas of the panda.

The sentiment is from the Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set, which has a wonderful selection of sentiments that are perfect for your birthday cards. I heat embossed it with Gold embossing powder. I then attached the Whisper White layer to a Pink Pirouette card base. To finish off the card, I added several Basic Rhinestones for a little sparkle.

I love that I could use similar supplies to create 2 different types of cards. The versatility of these stamp sets and products are amazing and I look forward to exploring more possibilities in the future.

I'm hoping that my cards will help inspire you to give these products a try and explore your own creativity. Now it is time to visit Lyndsay LaRae Carara to see what she has created. Just click the button below to visit her blog.

2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop Occasions Catalog

Welcome to the 2018 Kre8tors Blog Hop! I’m so excited to be part of this amazing group of fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world. Each month we will be sharing projects to help inspire and encourage you to get creative. This month’s theme is the Occasions Catalog, which launched earlier this month and is full of fantastic products to help you get started for the New Year.

One of the things I love the most about the 2018 Occasions Catalog is that there is something for everyone, for any occasion. I decided to showcase 2 different suites - Picture Perfect Party Suite and Petal Passion Suite. I have also used  2 coordinating Sale-a-bration products (that you can earn for Free with a qualifying purchase), to help inspire you with your projects. As you can see, my two cards look very different but can work for a variety of occasions that people will love to receive.

My 1st card has a modern feel to it and works well with all ages and is perfect masculine card design. For my card base I chose Thick Whisper White cardstock and added a layer of Smoky Slate cardstock to matte the layer of Whisper White for my design.

This card design features the Picture Perfect Birthday photopolymer stamp set (item # 145560 $17.00) to create the candles and the "sparkle" background in the corners. I chose to heat emboss the candles with Silver embossing powder and the flames with Gold embossing powder. The sparkles in the corners were embossed with Copper embossing powder. I stamped over the 2 outside candle patterns with Marina Mist and Pool Party Classic inks for a little color and to add a little depth and definition to them.

To finish off the card, I die cut "Celebrate" using the Celebrate You Thinlets dies (item #146840) from Gold Foil. This die set is a Level 2 Sale-a-bration product that you can Free with a $100 purchase. I also used the "Let's" sentiment from the coordinating Amazing You Stamp set (available in Wood Mount item #147212 or Clear Mount item #147215), which you can earn for Free with a $50 purchase. I embossed the sentiment with Gold embossing powder to tie it in with the "Celebrate" die cut. The final touch is a little gold star from the Metallic Enamel Shapes.

I love the clean, crisp look of this card and the way embossing and Gold Foil pops to take this design from ordinary to Wow! This card works well as a birthday card but can also be used for an anniversary or graduation card.

My 2nd card design is much more feminine and timeless. I love the Petal Passion Suite and the versatility of the images and sentiments in the Petal Palette stamp set  (available in Wood Mount item #145785 $47.00 or Clear Mount item #145788 $35.00). The wonderful thing is that the stamp set has coordinating Thinlets dies, and when you purchase them together as a bundle, you can save 10%.

I love the combination of Pink Pirouette and Basic Black together for an elegant, classic design. I embossed the layer of Basic Black cardstock with the floral embossing folder from the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (set of 2 item #145656 $9.00) to add a delicate texture to the card. I stamped the Whisper White Label (cut with the Lots of Labels Framelits item #138281 $27.00) using the large floral image with Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I rotated the stamp several times to use different parts of the image and then colored the images with my Stampin' Blends markers. Once again, I used my favorite Whisper White 1/4" Organza ribbon to embellish the Basic Black layer before adding the stamped label to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

To finish off this card design, I heat embossed the sentiment with Gold embossing powder on a thin scrap of Basic Black cardstock and trimmed it to fit on the label attached with Mini Dimensionals. This card design works for so many occasions and you can change the color combination for a whole new look.

One of the best things about the launch of the new 2018 Occasions Catalog is that you can earn Free products during Sale-a-bration, January 3rd-March 31st, 2018. This way you can get even more value for your money and more products to create with. Contact me to learn more about how you can earn Free products during Sale-a-bration.

I hope that you have enjoyed my cards and I hope that they help inspire you to create your own amazing projects using products from the Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-bration Catalog. Why not treat yourself to a little creative therapy.

Color Combo Blog Hop January 2018

Welcome to our Color Combo Blog Hop for January as we start a New Year. I am excited to share this new color combination with you and the project that I came up with. This month we were challenged to use Pink Pirouette, Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede for our design. I must admit, I don't use pastels a lot, so this was outside my comfort zone and a fun challenge to take part in.

I decided to create the card base with Daffodil Delight Cardstock and used a layer of Pink Pirouette Cardstock as a matte for my layer of Very Vanilla Cardstock. Using the stamp set, You've Got This, I stamped the large background stamp in Pink Pirouette Classic ink to provide a soft background color.  I then stamped the flower image in Soft Suede Classic ink on top of the Pink Pirouette background as well as the sentiment towards the bottom right of the Very Vanilla Cardstock layer.

To add a little more depth and interest to the flower, I used a blender pen to color the flower petals with Daffodil Delight Classic ink. I loved the way it made the flower pop against the Pink Pirouette stamped background and gave it an almost spotlight look. Next I added Clear Wink of Stella to the flower, stem and leaves for a little shimmer. The final touch was adding a couple of sequins from the Gold Mini Sequin Trim for a little added sparkle.

My favorite thing about this color combination was the softness that it gave this card design and I loved how the Soft Suede Classic ink worked as a great alternative to stamp the images. I think this color combination would work well for sympathy, thank you or birthday cards. I think I will be exploring using pastels more now that I have seen how beautifully they work together.

I hope my card has inspired you to give this color combination a try. Now it is time to continue on our blog hop journey and visit Elisabeth Pirolt Jun and see what she has created for this month's color challenge. Just click the Next button below to visit her blog.

Until Next time.

Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop - Sale-a-bration & Occasions Catalog

Welcome to the New Year with the first Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop for 2018. This month we are focusing on Sale-a-bration and the brand New 2018 Occasions Catalog.  You have probably just visited Libby's wonderful blog or perhaps this is your first stop. Either way you will hopefully have a wonderful journey on this blog hop.

There are so many amazing new products and the opportunity to earn Free Exclusive products during Sale-a-bration with a qualifying order. I am excited to share with you some of my favorite products and hopefully inspire you to get creative with my projects.

One of my favorite Sale-a-bration stamp sets is Epic Celebrations. When I first saw this stamp set I immediately thought "Teenagers".  Creating cards for teenagers can be very challenging, so when I saw this stamp set that I knew I had to get it.  As you can see, this stamp set works well for both boys and girls, which makes it even more appealing.

For the masculine version of this card, I chose Night of Navy cardstock for my card base and Marina Mist for the card base. I embossed the Marina Mist cardstock with the Scattered Sequins Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, which can be found on page 13 of the New 2018 Occasions Catalog. It added a little texture to the card base and then I used the dots image from the stamp set and embossed them with Copper embossing powder for a grunge look.  The sneakers were stamped with Tuxedo Black Momento ink and I colored them with the New Stampin' Blends on Whisper White cardstock. I cut out the circle with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and framed it with a Night of Navy cardstock scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Framelits. The sentiment is also from this stamp set and I embossed it with Silver embossing powder to finish off the card. I also added a little Wink of Stella to the sneakers for a little sparkle.

For the girls version of this card, I chose Thick Whisper White cardstock for the card base and Sweet Sugarplum for the layer of the card and also for the circle. I embossed half of the Sweet Sugarplum layer with one of the Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing Folders for a little texture, without being too girly. I heat embossed the sneaker image with Whisper White embossing powder and lightly sponged it with Sweet Sugarplum Classic ink to distress it. I framed the image with a scalloped circle of Rich Razzleberry cardstock. I added a piece of Whisper White 1/4" Organza ribbon as a border across the middle of the card and embossed the sentiment, also from this stamp set, with Whisper White embossing powder. To finish off the card, I added Basic Rhinestones to the card front for a little sparkle.

Don't you just love a stamp set that can be this versatile? I am looking forward to using the other images in this stamp set soon. I hope that you will give it a try too.  You can earn this stamp set with an order of $50 during Sale-a-bration. Contact me to learn more about Sale-a-bration and how you can earn Free products.

Sale-a-bration Kick Off Blog Hop

Welcome to the 2018 Sale-a-bration Kick Off Blog Hop. This wonderful blog hop features Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all around the world, with projects from the New 2018 Occasions Catalog and 2018 Sale-a-bration Catalog. You have probably just visited Jamie and been inspired by her blog or maybe this is your first stop.

I am so excited to share with you the cards I created using new products from the 2018 Occasions Catalog and 2018 Sale-a-bration Catalog. As a demonstrator, one of the perks is being able to order products from the new catalogs before they launch, which then gives us the opportunity to create projects to share and inspire you.  You are going to love the amazing products and ideas shared on this blog hop.

There are so many wonderful products that it was difficult to choose, so I narrowed it down to 2 of the new exclusive Sale-a-bration stamp sets that will be available to earn Free, starting tomorrow, January 3rd, with a qualifying order. I also chose several new products from the Occasions Catalog that coordinate to help create beautiful cards for every day occasions.

My first card was created with the new Lots of Lavender photopolymer stamp set. I love the versatility of this stamp set and I couldn't wait to heat emboss the main image  with Silver Embossing powder onto Elegant Eggplant cardstock. I just love the way the silver pops against the dark purple. I chose the sentiment from the Lovely Wishes photopolymer stamp set from the new Occasions catalog. This stamp set is also filled with amazing images, but we will save it for another blog post.

The card base was created with  Sweet Sugarplum cardstock and I also used it as a matte for the Elegant Eggplant panel. I embossed the layer of Elegant Eggplant cardstock using one of the new Petal Pair Textured Impressions Embossing folders from the Occasions catalog. I loved the texture that the vine embossing added to the card. As a finishing touch, I used the new Whisper White 1/4" Organza Ribbon, which can also be found in the Occasions catalog.

This card design would be great for Valentine's Day, a birthday or just to let someone know how much you care.

My second card was created using the new Heartfelt Blooms stamp set. This stamp set is amazing and I can't believe how much detail there is in just one stamp. This stamp set is perfect for making backgrounds so that is what I chose to do for this card. I thought this design would be perfect to make a set of Thank You cards to give as a gift.

I chose to use Flirty Flamingo for my card base and used Flirty Flamingo Classic ink to stamp the floral image on a layer of Whisper White cardstock. I heat embossed the sentiment, which is one of 3 in this stamp set, with Gold embossing powder. I once again chose the Whisper White 1/4" Organza Ribbon to embellish this card along with some small Basic Rhinestones. I love the softness of this card and you could change the colors and sentiment to suit your occasion.

I hope my cards have helped inspire you to explore the wonderful products in the new Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs. With the start of a New Year, now is the perfect time to plan your creative projects and indulge in a little creative therapy to help you through the winter months.

Now it's time to visit Libby and see what amazing ideas she has for this blog hop. You can also use the Blog Hop List below as you continue your journey.
