Ink & Share Blog Hop 2018 Holiday Catalog Preview

It's time for the August Ink & Share Blog Hop and this month we are sharing a preview of the new products from the 2018 Holiday Catalog, which will launch September 5th. This blog hop features projects from Stampin' Up! demonstrators all over the world and we hope that our ideas will help inspire you with your own creative projects. You may have just visited Karen's blog or perhaps you are beginning your journey here with me. I hope that enjoy this month's projects.

With Fall just weeks away, I thought I would share a card created with the new Country Home stamp set, which is just one of the wonderful new products in the Country Lane Suite. I just love the vintage feel of this stamp set and the images are perfect for coloring with Stampin' Blends Markers.

For this card design, I chose Mint Macaron cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Blackberry Bliss cardstock that I embossed using the Tin Tile Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder. To create a vintage, distressed feeling to the card, I added Copper Shimmer Paint to the raised areas of the Blackberry Bliss cardstock with a sponge dauber to bring out the embossed detail.

Using a strip of Mint Macaron cardstock, I embossed it with the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and added the Copper Shimmer Paint to the raised edges for a distressed look. For added texture, I added 2 pieces of 3/16" Braided Linen Trim and attached it to the card front.

The focal image has been created from a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock die cut with the Stitched Seasons Framelits. I stamped the floral image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the image with Stampin' Blend Markers.

The milk can was stamped onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with the Stampin' Blend Markers and then fussy cut with Paper Snips. Using Very Vanilla Solid Bakers Twine, I wrapped the twine around the top of the milk can twice and tied a basic knot. I then attached the milk can to the die cut, lining it up with the floral image, using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I had so much fun creating this card design with the products from the new 2018 Holiday Catalog. The Country Lane Suite has a wonderful array of products to create beautiful Fall themed projects and I can't wait to explore new possibilities with them.

SBTD August Blog Hop Bloggers Choice

Welcome to the SBTD (aka Stampers By the Dozen) August Blog Hop and this month our theme is Bloggers Choice. You will be visiting blogs featuring Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world as we inspire you with our projects featuring some of our favorite products. You may have just visited Susan's blog or this may be your first stop along this blog hop. I hope that you will enjoy the projects we have to share today.

By far my favorite products at the moment are featured in the Color Your Season Promotion and they are available only during the month of August (or while supplies last). This promotion features the Blended Seasons bundle, consisting of the Blended Seasons stamp set and coordinating Stitched Seasons Framelits dies, as well as the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2. These products work beautifully together but are also amazing when used separately.

My card design today features all of these amazing products to create a beautiful floral card. The card base was created with Early Espresso cardstock and I added a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock that I embossed using the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and then burnished with Crumb Cake Classic ink using a sponge dauber to bring out the woodgrain texture.

I die cut an opening in the Crumb Cake layer with the medium size label framelit die and then I used the smallest label framelit to die cut a label from Very Vanilla cardstock. I then embossed this label with the Tufted Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and gently rubbed the new Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint over the cardstock to give it and aged vintage look. This new Shimmer Paint will be available in the new 2018 Holiday Catalog starting September 5th.

The floral design is from the Blended Seasons stamp set and I stamped it with Stazon Jet Black ink and colored using the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 and then blended them with a Blender Pen for a soft watercolor look. I then added Clear Wink of Stella for a touch of shimmer.

I added a small piece of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon behind the floral design and tiny Basic Pearls to the embossed background. For the centers of the flowers, I added small Basic Pearls to add dimension and texture. For the finishing touch to the design, I die cut two sets of leaves using the die cut from the Stitched Seasons Framelits from Granny Apple Green cardstock and then cut them apart to add behind the floral design. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the leaves to coordinate with the rest of the card design.

For the inside of the card, I used a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped the floral image with Soft Suede Classic ink. I then colored them using the watercolor pencils and again blended them with the Blender Pen. A touch of Clear Wink of Stella was added as well. The sentiment was heat embossed with Gold embossing powder to finish everything off.

I loved creating this card design using all the different elements from the Color Your Seasons promotion. They coordinate so beautifully and are so versatile. For me, they are a must have and perfect for projects all year long.
