SBTD August Blog Hop Bloggers Choice

Welcome to the SBTD (aka Stampers By the Dozen) August Blog Hop and this month our theme is Bloggers Choice. You will be visiting blogs featuring Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world as we inspire you with our projects featuring some of our favorite products. You may have just visited Susan's blog or this may be your first stop along this blog hop. I hope that you will enjoy the projects we have to share today.

By far my favorite products at the moment are featured in the Color Your Season Promotion and they are available only during the month of August (or while supplies last). This promotion features the Blended Seasons bundle, consisting of the Blended Seasons stamp set and coordinating Stitched Seasons Framelits dies, as well as the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2. These products work beautifully together but are also amazing when used separately.

My card design today features all of these amazing products to create a beautiful floral card. The card base was created with Early Espresso cardstock and I added a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock that I embossed using the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and then burnished with Crumb Cake Classic ink using a sponge dauber to bring out the woodgrain texture.

I die cut an opening in the Crumb Cake layer with the medium size label framelit die and then I used the smallest label framelit to die cut a label from Very Vanilla cardstock. I then embossed this label with the Tufted Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and gently rubbed the new Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint over the cardstock to give it and aged vintage look. This new Shimmer Paint will be available in the new 2018 Holiday Catalog starting September 5th.

The floral design is from the Blended Seasons stamp set and I stamped it with Stazon Jet Black ink and colored using the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 and then blended them with a Blender Pen for a soft watercolor look. I then added Clear Wink of Stella for a touch of shimmer.

I added a small piece of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon behind the floral design and tiny Basic Pearls to the embossed background. For the centers of the flowers, I added small Basic Pearls to add dimension and texture. For the finishing touch to the design, I die cut two sets of leaves using the die cut from the Stitched Seasons Framelits from Granny Apple Green cardstock and then cut them apart to add behind the floral design. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the leaves to coordinate with the rest of the card design.

For the inside of the card, I used a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped the floral image with Soft Suede Classic ink. I then colored them using the watercolor pencils and again blended them with the Blender Pen. A touch of Clear Wink of Stella was added as well. The sentiment was heat embossed with Gold embossing powder to finish everything off.

I loved creating this card design using all the different elements from the Color Your Seasons promotion. They coordinate so beautifully and are so versatile. For me, they are a must have and perfect for projects all year long.

Global Stamping Friends Extraordinary Blog Hop - Happy 2nd Anniversary GSF

It's hard to believe it, but Global Stamping Friends is celebrating it's 2nd Anniversary, so we decided to have a blog hop to celebrate. Our theme is celebrations, whether it be birthdays, anniversaries or any other special occasion that we love to celebrate. You may have just visited Amber's blog or perhaps you are starting your journey with me. I hope that you enjoy the projects we have to share with you today.

Today I am sharing with you a Gatefold card, which is a simple fancy fold card design but when you add the layers created with the Stitched Seasons Framelits (item #149013), it can turn it into a Wow card for a special celebration. I chose to use Calypso Coral cardstock for the card base and middle layer combined with Whisper White cardstock for the large and small layer. I just love the contrast of these two colors together.

The layers were adhered together with Stampin' Dimensionals to really make the focal design pop against the card base. You can really see the detailed stitched edging on each of the label layers die cut with these amazing framelits dies.

The floral design, from the Bike Ride stamp set (item #143716) was stamped with Stazon Jet Black ink and I colored the flowers and leaves with the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 (item #149014), which are only available until the end of August, or while supplies last. I used a Blender Pen to soften the coloring to give it a watercolor look.  The Happy Birthday sentiment from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set (item #143666) also with Stazon Jet Black ink. I added Basic Pearls to the design to finish off the card design.

The Stitched Seasons Framelits are my favorite go to dies at the moment and I am so sad they will no longer be available to order soon. If you would like to order these framelits or any of the products in the Color Your Season Promotion, place your order now before they sell out.
