Global Stamping Friends November Blog Hop Thinking Of and Thanking You

November has arrived and it's time to hop along with the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop as we share projects with the theme of Thinking of You and Thanking You. Our wonderful Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to help you show the people in your life how much they mean to you. The holidays can be a difficult time for people and it is amazing how something as simple as a handmade card can help brighten their day and make a difference in how they feel.
At this time of year, things can get hectic and trying to find time to create beautiful cards can be a challenge. Rather than get stressed out, I enjoy creating beautiful clean and simple card designs with designer series paper to make my life easier. For this card design, I chose one of the designs from the Splendid Autumn 6"x6" Designer Series Paper and paired it with one of the sentiments from the Everyday Greetings stamp set. I used the Stylish Shapes Dies to create the banner and embossed the sentiment with Copper embossing powder to step up the design. I love the beautiful Fall scenes in this paper pack and it makes it so much easier to create a bunch of cards quickly and easily to create a stash of cards for a variety of occasions.

Card Base - 5 1/2" x8 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Sentiment Label die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies
Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper

For this card design, I chose to use Crumb Cake cardstock for the card base and sentiment label to create a more rustic feel to the design. I love how the designer series paper becomes the focal point for the card design and this beautiful Fall scene deserves to be the star of the show. A simple sentiment is all that is necessary to complete this card design and I added several Iridescent Foil Gems for a touch of bling to make it extra special. With so many wonderful scenes to choose from, you will love creating a stack of cards with these supplies. It's a wonderful way to enjoy some creative therapy without getting stressed.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help spark your creativity and help you to create your own beautiful cards to send out to family and friends. After all, a card is really just a paper hug with a fold in the middle and who couldn't use a hug in the mail to brighten their day?

Inspire. Create. Share. March Blog Hop Spring Is Coming

It's time to hop along with the Inspire. Create. Share. March Blog Hop and this month we are showcasing Spring projects to help you get ready for the new season. It's hard to believe that Spring is almost here and our wonderful Design Team members are excited to share their projects and ideas to help inspire you to get creative.
Often when you think of Spring, you think of pretty florals and soft pastel colors. So I thought I would combine these two elements to create a soft and pretty card design using the Enduring Beauty Bundle. For the background, I used one of the new Fun Patterns Embossing Folders to add some texture. Recently I learned a new technique called Etching, so I decided to try it with this card and I love how it added depth and dimension to the floral design. The overall design has a modern, artistic feel to it that I think works well for Spring.

Floral image stamped, colored & die cut with the Enduring Beauty Bundle
The Enduring Beauty Bundle is perfect for creating beautiful Spring cards for a variety of occasions. There are so many different ways you can mix and match the stamp set, masks and coordinating dies to get creative. I chose to use all three to create my Spring themed card. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White cardstock and used the masks to color the images. For the flowers I used Bubble Bath and Fresh Freesia Classic ink pads and for the leaves I chose Soft Sea Foam and Parakeet Party ink pads. I applied the color to the masks using blending brushes to give the stamped image a soft and pretty look. For the etching on the images, I used the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to add small lines to add depth and texture. I love the artistic feeling that this technique adds to this image. I used the coordinating Enduring Beauty Dies to die cut the image to create the focal point for my card design. For the background layer, I cut a piece of Bubble Bath cardstock measuring 5" x 3 3/4" into three separate pieces and then embossed them using one of the Fun Patterns Embossing Folders. I love the delicate detail it adds to the background without being overwhelming. I attached the three pieces to a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock and then layered it onto the Basic Black cardstock that helps to frame the layers and make it pop against the Soft Sea Foam card base. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Go To Greetings stamp set with Gold embossing powder onto Basic Black cardstock and used one of the Timeless Arrangements Dies to die cut the label. I added the sentiment to the bottom right corner of the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals and added the floral image so that the leaves slightly overlap the sentiment, also using Stampin' Dimensionals. For a touch of bling, I added several Gold Pearls to coordinate with the Gold embossing. I love how this design turned out using these products to create a fresh and pretty card for Spring.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects to celebrate Spring. There are so many wonderful possibilities to explore.

Global Stamping Friends December Blog Hop The Card's In The Mail

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends December Blog Hop and this month it's all about getting those cards in the mail. As cardmakers, we all love making cards, but we aren't always the best and sending them out to the people we care about. Our small but mighty Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to not only create your own beautiful cards, but to also mail them out to family and friends.
This time of year, it can be easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season and sometimes we forget to check in with the people in our lives who may be struggling. For some people, the holidays are a time of loneliness and remembering those they have lost. So I thought I would share a clean and simple card design featuring the beautiful Meandering Meadows 6"x6" Designer Series Paper, that you can create to send to people to let them know that you care and that they are not alone. I love the impressionistic feeling of the designs in this pretty paper pack and I chose one that gave me a feeling of peace and serenity. I paired it with Thick Basic White Cardstock for the card base to try and create the look of the cards you often see in the Art Museum gift shops with reprints of famous art designs. A simple sentiment has been embossed with Gold to step up the design but not overwhelm it. This way, the person receiving it could display it on their mantle or shelf as a reminder that they are loved.
Products Used:
Very Best Occasions stamp set (item #159871)
Double Oval Punch (item #154242)
Meandering Meadows 6"x6" Designer Series Paper (item #162735)
Thick Basic White Cardstock (item #159229)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Metallics Embossing Powders (item #155555)
Festive Pearls (item #159963)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Thick Basic White Cardstock
Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Basic White Cardstock
Oval Sentiment Label punched out with the Double Oval Punch
Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
This beautiful clean and simple card design is easy to duplicate with any of the designs in this paper pack. The secret to getting the best card front is to look at the design and determine if it works best as a portrait or landscape card front. Once you have decided that, you can then cut the card front accordingly to 5 1/4" x 4 to suit the orientation you have chosen. You could choose to heat emboss your sentiment directly onto the card front before attaching it to the card base to simplify the design even further. I chose instead to heat emboss the image with Gold embossing powder onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock and punched it out with the Double Oval Punch. I attached it to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up and then added some Gold Festive Pearls to finish off the design. I love the feeling of peace this card design gives me when I look at it and I hope that the person receiving it will feel that too.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to create your own beautiful cards and send them out to the people you love. It's a wonderful thing to send happy mail to people to help brighten their day. Today you will have the opportunity to visit with talented Demonstrators from around the world as they share their projects and ideas using the new Online Exclusives products released this month.
For my card design, I decided to use the new Garden Meadow Bundle to create a pretty Thinking of You card. Layer 1 - 5 1/4" x 4"
Basic White Cardstock
Card Front - 5" x 3 3/4"
Wheelbarrow image stamped and die cut with the Garden Meadow Bundle
This card design was so much fun to create and I combined several techniques to bring it all together. For the background, I used the Watercolor Smoosh technique, combining Balmy Blue, Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Pool Party, spritzed with water to create this one of a kind design on a piece of Basic White cardstock. After drying the cardstock with my Heat Tool, I stamped the background to create a collage design that compliments the watercolor look. I trimmed the cardstock to 5" x 3 3/4" for my card front. Using Gold embossing powder, I heat embossed the sentiment in the top left corner and then attached the card front to the Fresh Freesia cardstock layer. For the wheelbarrow, I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink into a piece of Basic White cardstock and colored the image with Stampin' Blends Markers. I die cut the image with the coordinating die and attached the wheelbarrow to the card front. To complete the card design, I attached the card front layers to the Thick Basic White card base and added several Fresh Freesia Tinsel Gems for a touch of bling. I love how this card design turned out and I can't wait to try it again using other images from this bundle.

We Create August Blog Hop Let's Recycle

Welcome to the We Create August Blog Hop and this month our theme is "Let's Recycle". Our Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you. There are so many options to explore and ways to recycle things around us to create fun projects.
For my card design today, I chose to use the scraps and strips of cardstock I had left over from cards I have made over the past couple of months. Each month I create cards for blog hops as well as card swaps and challenges, so I accumulate quite a lot of thin strips of cardstock when I cut card fronts and layers for my designs. I also had some flower die cuts and circles that I have kept in a bag that were from a swap that I participated in. Rather than throwing away these scraps and left over pieces, I like to recycle them and use them to create strip cards. This card design features strips of approx. 1/4" wide in colors of Misty Moonlight, Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon and Moody Mauve that I had left over from cutting card fronts. The focal design was created using left over die cuts created using the Sending Smiles stamp set and coordinating Sending Dies along with a Basic White 2 3/8" Circle Punch from a swap. I love how these scraps combined to create a beautiful new card design instead of ending up in the trash.
Products Used:
Layering Leaves stamp set (item #161277)
Sending Smiles stamp set (item #158701)
Sending Dies (item #159271)
2 3/8" Circle Punch (item #161354)
Lost Lagoon Cardstock (item #133679)
Misty Moonlight Cardstock (item #153081)
Pretty Peacock Cardstock (item #150880)
Moody Mauve Cardstock (item #161723)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Lost Lagoon Classic Ink Pad (item #161678)
Boho Blue Classic Ink Pad (item #161650)
Daffodil Delight Classic Ink Pad (item #147094)
Tinsel Gems Three Pack (item #161624)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Lost Lagoon Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
1/4" Strips for card front
Pretty Peacock Cardstock
1/4" Strips for card front
Misty Moonlight Cardstock
1/4" Strips for card front
Moody Mauve Cardstock
1/2" Strips for card front
Basic White Cardstock
Layer 1 - 4 1/4" x 4"
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4" trimmed to 5" x 3 3/4" once strips are adhered to card front
Circle punched out with the 2 3/8" Circle Punch
Flowers stamped and die cut (left over from previous card design)
This design was a fun experiment with different colored strips to create a colorful background for my card. I started by arranging the strips on my Basic White cardstock card front until I was happy with the order of colors. I chose colors from my stash of cardstock strips that I thought would work well together but would have a variety of contrasts. Once I was happy with the order, I adhered the strips to the card front, leaving a small amount of white space between the strips to add to the design. Once I had finished creating the card front design, I trimmed it to the finished size of 5" x 3 3/4" and then adhered it to another piece of Basic White cardstock measuring 5 1/4" x 4" to create a clean white border around the edge of the card front. I then attached these layers to the Lost Lagoon card base with Stampin' Dimensionals. For the focal design, I stamped the sentiment from the Layering Leaves stamp set using Lost Lagoon Classic ink and attached the circle to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. The flowers that I chose to use were left over from a card swap I created recently and I chose to use two of them to decorate the sentiment circle. The flowers were stamped using Boho Blue and Daffodil Delight Classic inks using the Sending Flowers stamp set and they have been die cut with the coordinating Sending Dies. I attached the flowers, one at the top left and the other towards the bottom right of the circle. To complete the design, I added several Misty Moonlight Gems from the Tinsel Gems Three Pack to add a touch of bling. The wonderful thing about creating strip cards with left overs from your cards, is that each card will have a unique design and feel to it. It's a fun and creative way to recycle your left over supplies to create beautiful cards.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to recycle your scraps of cardstock to create your own beautiful projects. There are so many wonderful possibilities to explore and each card design can be a unique work of art to share with family and friends.
