Stamping With Friends October Blog Hop CASEing The Catalog

Welcome to the Stamping With Friends October Blog Hop as we showcase projects we have CASEd from current Stampin' Up! Catalogs. What is CASE you ask? It stands for Copy And Share Everything and it is a way to jump start your creativity when you might be feeling stuck. You can choose to copy a project exactly or you may choose to select the layout, color combination or certain elements to create your own project. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as they share their projects and ideas to help inspire you.
The card I chose to CASE is from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog on page 22 and features the Dragonfly Garden Bundle. I really liked the layout of this card design and the heat embossing for the background using the stamp images from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set. I decided that I wanted to recreate this card design using a different color combination to come up with my own version of this card.
For my card design, I wanted to create a Fall themed design based on the card from the Annual Catalog. The colors I chose were Mossy Meadow, Misty Moonlight and Cinnamon Cider with accents of Silver and Gold to help step up the design. For the heat embossed background, I used Silver embossing powder so that it would pop against the Misty Moonlight cardstock layer. I chose to use the Tailored Tag Punch for my sentiment and I like the way the Cinnamon Cider cardstock label has the look of leather. For the large dragonfly, I heat embossed the dragonfly with Gold embossing powder onto Gold Foil and then punched it out with the Dragonflies Punch. I love the detail and texture this adds to the card design.
Products Used:

Measurements:
Mossy Meadow Cardstock

Misty Moonlight Cardstock
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
Cinnamon Cider Cardstock
Sentiment Label punched out with Tailored Tag Punch
Gold Foil Sheet
Large Dragonfly punched out with Dragonflies Punch
This card design features one of my favorite techniques - heat embossing. I love the way it steps up a card design and I chose to use both Gold and Silver embossing to create a fun contrast. I stamped the images from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set onto the Misty Moonlight cardstock card front with Versamark ink and embossed them with Silver embossing powder. I also heat embossed the sentiment onto the Cinnamon Cider sentiment tag using Silver embossing powder to create a rustic look. For the dragonfly, I heat embossed the stamped image with Gold embossing powder onto the Gold Foil and punched it out with the Dragonflies Punch. I love how the embossing brings out the wonderful detail of the wings and body on the Gold Foil. For the Baker's Twine, I took a piece of White Baker's Twine and wrapped it around the card front twice and then cut it. I colored the White Baker's Twine with the Light Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends Marker so that it coordinated with the card base. I then wrapped it around the card front twice and tied a knot towards the right side of the card. I attached the sentiment label with Stampin' Dimensionals over the top of the Baker's Twine and added the Gold Dragonfly with Stampin' Dimensionals so that it slightly overlapped the bottom right side of the sentiment label. To finish off the card design, I added three small Basic Rhinestone Jewels, one to the top of the sentiment label and the other two to the centers of the embossed dragonflies. I love how this card turned out and how I was able to use the different elements from the card design in the catalog to create my own version.

Stamping With Friends Techniques Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stamping With Friends Techniques Blog Hop as we showcase different techniques. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Demonstrators as they share their ideas and projects to help you explore different ways to step up your projects with fun techniques.
One of my favorite things to do to relax is coloring with my Stampin' Blends. I love the way they can transform a design. For my technique today, I have used my Stampin' Blends Markers to color a piece of the Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper to bring alive the flowers in the design. I have also used the Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends Marker to color the small Basic Pearls to coordinate with the card design. These simple techniques are a wonderful way for you to create your own unique cards just by choosing what color combination you want to use.

Sentiment Label punched with the Tailored Tag Punch
Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper
Background Layer - 5" x 3 3/4"
This clean and simple card design features a fun technique that is a great way to use up your black and white designer series paper designs. You can choose to add as much or as little color as you wish to transform the basic design. I wanted to keep it simple and just color the flowers using Flirty Flamingo Light and Dark Stampin' Blends Markers and the Dark Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends Marker for the leaves and buds. I attached the layer to the Basic Black cardstock layer and attached it to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up. I heat embossed the sentiment from the In Your Words stamp set with White Embossing Powder and punched it out with the Tailored Tag Punch. I attached the sentiment label to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals and added two small pearls, that I colored with the Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends Marker, to the label for a touch of bling.

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends September Blog Hop and this month we are showcasing the wonderful bundles from the new July-December 2021 Mini Catalog. What's so great about bundles? It is an opportunity to order both the stamp set and coordinating dies or punch together and get a 10% discount, which makes them very budget friendly. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as they share their ideas and projects to help inspire you.
Today I have created a Christmas card with the Peaceful Deer Bundle from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog combined with the Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper you can earn for Free during Sale-a-bration with a qualifying order. I love the way these products coordinate to create wonderful projects. This Christmas card is great as a masculine card design and would also work well for a birthday design.
Products Used:
Peaceful Deer Bundle (item #156391)
Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper (item #156628)
Tailored Tag Punch (item #145667)
Layering Circles Dies (item #151770)

Garden Green Classic Ink Pad (item #147089)
Early Espresso Classic Ink Pad (item #147114)
Evening Evergreen 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon (item #155573)
2021-2023 In Color Jewels (item #155571)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Evening Evergreen Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Tag layer punched with the Tailored Tag Punch
Scalloped circle die cut with the Layering Circles Dies
Crumb Cake Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Sentiment label punched with the Tailored Tag Punch
Very Vanilla Cardstock
Circle die cut with the Layering Circles Dies
Peaceful Prints Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
This clean and simple card design has a wonderful country Christmas feel to it. I love the pattern of the designer series paper and it works well with the images in the Peaceful Deer stamp set. To create the focal deer image, I stamped it onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with Early Espresso Classic ink and punched it out with the Deer Builder Punch. For the circle design, I stamped the tree images with Garden Green Classic ink as well as the lines to create the foreground. I attached the Very Vanilla circle to the Evening Evergreen scalloped circle. I attached the deer to the Very Vanilla circle with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up. For the sentiment, I stamped the image with Garden Green Classic ink onto the Crumb Cake sentiment label that was punched out with the Tailored Tag Punch. I cut the Evening Evergreen label in half lengthwise and attached it to the back of the Crumb Cake label. To assemble the card, I attached the designer series paper layer to the Crumb Cake cardstock layer and added the Evening Evergreen around the bottom and attached it to the back. Using Stampin' Dimensionals, I attached the card front to the card base. For the focal circle, I attached it towards the top of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals and added the sentiment label over the ribbon using Stampin' Dimensionals. To finish off the card design, I added two of the Evening Evergreen Jewels for a touch of bling.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to explore the amazing new bundles to help you create your own wonderful projects. The July-December 2021 Mini Catalog has so many fantastic options to help you get creative for the holidays and beyond.

Punch Techniques Blog Hop

Welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop and this month our theme is Punches. Hop along with us as we share ideas and techniques to help you incorporate punches into your projects.
For my card design today, I wanted to show how you can create "windows" to frame focal elements and sentiments to step up your card design. I chose to use the Label Me Lovely Punch to create an opening that would frame a daisy created with the Medium Daisy Punch and an opening created with the Tailored Tag Punch for the sentiment. The color combination I chose was Fresh Freesia, Gray Granite and Basic White for a touch of Gold with the embellishments. The detailed background was created with the new Timber 3D Embossing Folder in the new July-December 2021 Mini Catalog.
Products Used:
Pansy Patch stamp set (item #154999)
Timber 3D Embossing Folder (item #156406)
Label Me Lovely Punch (item #151296)
Medium Daisy Punch (item #149517)
Tailored Tag Punch (item #145667)
Fresh Freesia Cardstock (item #155613)
Gray Granite Cardstock (item #146983)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Fresh Freesia Classic Stamp Pad (item #155611)
Gilded Gems (item #152478)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Fresh Freesia Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Two medium daisies punched with the Medium Daisy Punch
Basic White Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5 1/4" x 4"
Gray Granite Cardstock
Layer 2 - 5" x 3 3/4" Embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder
This fun card design is a great way to use your punches. To create the windows, I punched out an opening from the top of the embossed Gray Granite cardstock using the Label Me Lovely Punch and then punched an opening from the bottom using the Tailored Tag Punch. I attached the Basic White cardstock layer to the Fresh Freesia card base and then added the embossed Gray Granite layer to the Basic White layer with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up. For the daisy, I punched out two medium size daisies from Fresh Freesia cardstock and I sponged the petals with Fresh Freesia Classic ink. I layered the two daisies, attaching them together with Mini Glue Dots and attached the daisy to the center of the top window with a Stampin' Dimensional. I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Pansy Patch stamp set in the center of the bottom window using Fresh Freesia Classic ink. To add a touch of bling, I added a large Gilded Gem to the center of the daisy and two small Gilded Gems to the sentiment window to complete the design. I love that the windows protect the daisy and the Gilded Gems so that it can be mailed to a family member or friend to celebrate their special day.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will give you some ideas to help inspire you to use punches in your projects. There are so many wonderful ways to use them.
