Stamptastic Friends December Blog Hop Simple Stamping

It's time to hop along with the Stamptastic Friends December Blog Hop and this month we are focusing on Simple Stamping. Our wonderful Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to help spark your creativity and hopefully inspire you to try this fun technique.
Simple Stamping is a great technique for when you are getting started with stamping because you need just a few basic supplies to create your project. So what is Simple Stamping? It is basically creating a simple card design using just paper, ink and stamps. For my card design, I chose to use the Simply Zinnia stamp set which has beautiful images and wonderful sentiments all in one set. I chose to create a monochromatic card using Peach Pie cardstock and Peach Pie Classic ink and combined them with Basic White cardstock and Memento Tuxedo Black ink, which are staples you need in your crafting tool kit. To add color to my floral image, I chose to use the Reverse Masking technique to create the circle of color using a Blending Brush and the Peach Pie Classic ink. It's a simple technique where you punch or die cut out a circle in a piece of scrap paper and layer it over your card front. Then you gently apply the ink inside the circle opening with a blending brush. Once that has had a chance to dry, you then stamp the focal image on top with the Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the effect is striking in its simplicity.

Sometimes it can be challenging for experienced stampers to go back to the basics and create a project using Simple Stamping. I must admit, I had to think about it a little bit before I started to work out the best way to create a beautiful card with minimal supplies and not take a lot of time to create. Reverse Masking has always been one of my favorite techniques and I love how it can be used to add color to images, especially if you are not a fan of coloring. I chose to use a circle for my background area but you could easily chose a square or any other shape that would be large enough to fit your focal image. Blending Brushes are great tools for adding soft color to your projects and allow you to build up layers of color to get the intensity you are looking for. I wanted the Peach Pie background to be dark enough for the focal image to pop without it being to deep. I like that the blending of the ink is slightly uneven so it adds texture to the design. For a touch of bling, I added several of the Peach Pie Shimmer Gems to complete the card design. I love the simplicity of this design and it is a layout that you can use for a variety of colors and for all occasions.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to try Simple Stamping when creating your own projects. It can be a wonderful way to explore your creativity with stamps, paper and ink. The Simply Zinnia stamp set is one of the products on the Last Chance Products List and is available only while supplies last. If you love this stamp set, I would recommend ordering it soon to avoid missing out.

Stamping Inkspirations December Blog Hop Sounds of the Season

Welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations December Blog Hop as we showcase the Sounds of the Season. Our wonderful Design Team is excited to share with you their projects and ideas to help inspire you for the holidays. With just 10 days until Christmas Eve, there is still time for you to create your own beautiful projects to send to family and friends to celebrate the season.
My inspiration for today's Christmas card comes from the Christmas song, I'll Be Home For Christmas. When I saw the cute owl image and coordinating sentiment in the Christmas Friends Bundle, I just knew that it was the perfect match. I wanted to keep my design nice and simple and I love that the Snowfall Sky 3D Embossing Folder adds wonderful texture to the Basic White card front without being overwhelming. I love using Balmy Blue for Winter themed cards I thought it added just the right touch of frostiness to the background behind the owl image.

To create this cute and festive card design, I started with a Balmy Blue cardstock card base and added a Basic White card front that I embossed with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder to add subtle background texture. For the owl image, I stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White cardstock and used the coordinating die to die cut him out and then colored him with Stampin' Blends Markers to bring him to life. I love how the Poppy Parade Santa hat adds just a pop of color to make him festive and cheerful. I applied some soft color to the Basic White circle using a Blending Brush to apply Balmy Blue Classic ink. For the sentiment label, I heat embossed the image with White embossing powder to help make it pop and tie in with the color theme for this card design. For a touch of bling, I added several of the Gold Adhesive Backed Snowflakes and added small Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the center of each of the snowflakes for a touch of elegance. I love the images and coordinating sentiments in the Christmas Friends stamp set and the wonderful coordinating dies make it easy to create fun cards for the holidays. It's time for Week 47 of the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge and this week we are showcasing Lost Lagoon from the Subtles Collection. This pretty blue-green color is perfect for Winter themed projects and I couldn't resist using it to create a sweet Christmas card to celebrate the holidays.
For this week's card design, I chose to use the Christmas Friends Bundle and combined it with one of the designs from the A Little Latte Designer Series Paper to create this fun and festive card. I love the ombre feel of the striped designer series paper and how it adds wonderful texture to the background. This pretty clean and simple card design is sure to bring a smile to someone's face when they receive it for the holidays.

New At SU November Blog Hop One Color Palette, Many Ways Color Challenge Dear Santa

It's time to hop along with the New At SU November Blog Hop and this month we have a fun Color Challenge to explore. Our wonderful Design Team will be sharing their ideas and projects featuring the following colors: Moody Mauve, Bubble Bath, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow and Basic Beige. We can choose to use all or some of these colors to create our projects to help spark your creativity.
For my card design, I chose to create a fun, non-traditional Christmas card design using all of the above colors. This isn't a color combination that I would have thought to create with on my own, so it was a wonderful way for me to step outside my comfort zone and explore this beautiful colors. I used a combination of card stock, designer series paper and inks in the various colors to showcase how well these colors work together. I did add one extra color, Lemon Lolly, for the hair for my image. The patterns in the designer series paper strips add texture and contrast to the design and work well with the whimsy of the focal image and sentiment from the Dear Santa stamp set. I love how all the different elements combined to create this sweet Christmas card that will hopefully brighten someone's day.

Global Stamping Friends November Blog Hop Thinking Of and Thanking You

November has arrived and it's time to hop along with the Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop as we share projects with the theme of Thinking of You and Thanking You. Our wonderful Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to help you show the people in your life how much they mean to you. The holidays can be a difficult time for people and it is amazing how something as simple as a handmade card can help brighten their day and make a difference in how they feel.
At this time of year, things can get hectic and trying to find time to create beautiful cards can be a challenge. Rather than get stressed out, I enjoy creating beautiful clean and simple card designs with designer series paper to make my life easier. For this card design, I chose one of the designs from the Splendid Autumn 6"x6" Designer Series Paper and paired it with one of the sentiments from the Everyday Greetings stamp set. I used the Stylish Shapes Dies to create the banner and embossed the sentiment with Copper embossing powder to step up the design. I love the beautiful Fall scenes in this paper pack and it makes it so much easier to create a bunch of cards quickly and easily to create a stash of cards for a variety of occasions.
