We Create Basics Blog Hop

It's time to hop along with the We Create Basics Blog Hop as we create projects using just the basic colors - Basic Black, Whisper White and Very Vanilla. This was a difficult challenge for me as I love color and it took a lot of thought before I came up with my card design using Whisper White and Basic Black.
For my card design today, I am using the New Over The Moon stamp set (item #149331) from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, that will launch on June 4th. I just love the cute cow images in this stamp set and it inspired me to create my card for this challenge.
To start with I chose Basic Black cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Whisper White cardstock for the main panel. Using two of the smaller background stamps from the Love What You Do stamp set (item #148042), I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink to create the look of spots on a cow's hide. It was so much fun and I may have gotten a little carried away.

For the focal point, I stamped the cow image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and die cut it with one of the circles from the Layering Circles Dies (item #141705). I die cut a scalloped circle from Basic Black cardstock from the same set of dies and layered them. I colored the spots, hair and hooves with the Basic Black Stampin' Blends Markers.
Now it's time to assemble the card. I added a piece of Whisper White 5/8" Flax Ribbon (item #148764) to the card front add attached the circles on top with Stampin' Dimensionals.

To create the sentiment, I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and punched it out using the Classic Label Punch (item #141491) and then punched out another shape from a scrap of Basic Black cardstock. I cut this piece in half and attached it to the back of the sentiment with Snail Adhesive. I also punched out a scalloped circle from Basic Black cardstock using the 1 1/8" Scallop Circle Punch (item #146138) and attached it to the back of the sentiment in the center and attached the sentiment to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
This card was so much fun to create and has opened my eyes to creating projects using Black and White. I hope that my card has helped inspire you to experiment with the basics for your projects.  If you love in the U.S. and do not already have a demonstrator, please contact me and I would be happy to help you.

Colour Combo May Blog Hop

Welcome to the Colour Combo May Blog Hop. This month we have been challenged to use Balmy Blue. Mango Melody and Blackberry Bliss together in our project. As you hop along with our blog hop, you will visit with demonstrators from around the world as they share their creative ideas. I hope that we can inspire you to create your own projects with this color combination.

When I first saw this color combination, it reminded me of a sunny Spring day. Balmy Blue represents the sky, Mango Melody represents the sunshine and Blackberry Bliss represents the first Spring flowers that bloom in the garden. To create the card design I imagined, I chose the Love What You Do stamp set (item #148042), as it had the images and sentiment that I wanted.
To create this card I chose Balmy Blue cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Mango Melody cardstock to create a frame for the Whisper White cardstock that I used to create the focal panel. I stamped the large background image with Balmy Blue Classic ink to create the look of the sky background. I heat embossed the floral image using Gold embossing powder so that the flowers would stand out against the stamped background. I colored the flowers with Light and Dark Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blend Markers to create the shading I wanted.
For the sentiment, I stamped the large background image onto a strip of Whisper White cardstock using Mango Melody Classic ink and then heat embossed the sentiment using Gold embossing powder. I punched out the sentiment using the Pretty Label Punch (item #143715) to create the decorate edges.

I colored the spots on a piece of Whisper White 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon (item #146912) with the Light Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blends Marker and adhered it to the card front and then added the sentiment on top with Stampin' Dimensionals. To embellish the card, I colored several Basic Pearls with the Dark Mango Melody Stampin' Blends Marker. For a touch of shimmer, I used the Clear Wink of Stella to color the petals of the flowers and a touch to the sentiment label.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card design provides you with some inspiration. If you live in the U.S. and do not already have a demonstrator, please contact me and I would be happy to help you.

You will be visiting demonstrators from all over the world as they share their ideas and projects to inspire you.
Today I decided to CASE one of my own card designs using the Love What You Do stamp set from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog, paired with the Level 1 Sale-a-bration stamp set, Part Of My Story, which you can earn for Free with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration. You can see the card I am CASEing here
I chose to use the Gingham Gala 6"x 6" Designer Series Paper (item #148554) in Grapefruit Grove, partnered with Grapefruit Grove and Whisper White cardstock. I die cut the rectangles using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits dies (item #148551).
I stamped the floral image and sentiment with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with Gold Embossing Powder. I colored the floral image with the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Markers.
I chose to use the Daffodil Delight 1/4" Double Stitched Ribbon (item #144116) to embellish the card front and added half of a Pearlized Doily (item #146936). For a touch of bling, I added 3 of the Grapefruit Grove Pearls from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls (item #146927).
This Spring themed card design is perfect for a variety of occasions and can be created in a variety of Spring colors to create a beautiful card set. I love this clean and simple layout as it provides many options for creating beautiful cards.
