New At SU January Blog Hop Sale-a-bration Coordination Corner In Bloom

Welcome to the New At SU January Blog Hop with our theme this month featuring Sale-a-bration Coordination. I can't wait to share with you all the project I have created using the new Corner In Bloom stamp set.

For today's card design, I wanted to showcase one of my favorite techniques: heat embossing. There is just something so magical about this technique and it is what got me hooked on card making many years agon. To help chase away the Winter Blues, I chose to use Petunia Pop for my card, one of the 2024-2026 In Colors. I just love how bright and pretty it is and how it makes the White embossed images pop. The images in the Corner In Bloom stamp set are perfect for creating beautiful clean and simple designs and I added the sentiment from the With You In Mind stamp set. I love the way these two stamp sets work together to provide so many wonderful options for all occasion cards.

Heat embossing is a great technique for stepping up clean and simple card designs. The delicate line images in the Corner In Bloom stamp set look beautiful with this technique and with the addition of a sentiment, you can create a variety of designs to add to your card stash. The White embossing makes me think of chalk art that I used to do with my kids. It is so fun and cheerful, a way to bring a smile to someone who receives it. For a touch of bling, I added several Pretty In Pink Shimmer Gems to complete the card design.

Sale-a-bration 2024 Blog Hop

Let's start off the new week with the Sale-a-bration 2024 Blog Hop and share amazing projects created using products you can earn free with a qualifying purchase during Sale-a-bration. Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper

Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"

This fun masculine card design is easy to create and the hardest decisions will be what designer series paper to use for the background and what tools to use for the focal image. There are so many wonderful choices that you could create a variety of designs to have on hand. For this card design, I chose to use the Poppy Parade screwdriver background design for my card front and used Basic Gray cardstock for the card base to help make it pop. To create the focal image, I stamped the wrench, hammer and pencil images onto Smoky Slate cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used the stamp images to "fill" in the images, using Lost Lagoon Classic ink for the wrench and the pencil and Poppy Parade Classic ink for the hammer. I used the Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Marker to enhance the shadows on the stamped images to add some depth and dimension. For the tape measure, I stamped the image onto Basic White cardstock with Tuxedo Black ink and used the solid image with Lost Lagoon Classic ink to color the main part of the tape measure. To finish coloring the image, I used Light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Marker for the inner circle and side and Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends Marker for the tape and button on the side. I used the coordinating dies to die cut the images out as well as some nuts and bolts from Smoky Slate cardstock and the sentiment label from Basic Gray cardstock. To assemble the card design, I tied a piece of Gray Granite Baker's Twine around the center of the card front, wrapping it twice before tying a knot on the left side. I heat embossed the sentiment with White embossing powder and added it over the top of the twine with Stampin' Dimensionals, leave a gap along the top of the label so that I could slide the Basic White circle underneath. After attaching the circle, I added the tools so that the bottom of each piece is hidden underneath the sentiment label and I popped up the top of the wrench and the hammer with a Stampin' Dimensionals to add some dimension. I added the tape measure to the bottom right side of the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals so that it slightly overlaps the sentiment label. To complete the card design, I added the nuts and screws as embellishments.

Welcome to the New At SU January Blog Hop as we start off 2024 with the theme of "Sale-a-bration". Our Design Team members will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to get creative for the New Year. For my card design, I decided to combine two of the Level 1 Sale-a-bration products that you can earn free with a qualifying order. I love sentiment stamp sets, especially when they coordinate with a punch and the Heartfelt Hellos stamp set coordinates perfectly with the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch from the January-April 2024 Mini Catalog. It gives you so many wonderful options for creating cards for a variety of occasions. The Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper is so beautiful and I have been using the various designs in this paper pack to create clean and simple cards. I felt like the simple sentiment from the Heartfelt Hellos stamp set would be great paired with this pretty paper. The finished card design has an elegant, vintage feel to it without being fussy or needing a lot of layers. It is a great option for creating beautiful cards to send to family and friends.

This clean and simple design has a wonderful layout that can be used to create cards for a variety of occasions using any of the sentiments from the Heartfelt Hellos stamp set. When paired with the beautiful designs in the Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper, you can create a wonderful stash of cards for all occasions to send to family and friends. It's as simple as combining a card base with a card front and then personalizing it with a sentiment, ribbon and embellishments. To earn one of these Sale-a-bration products for free, you just need to place a qualifying order of US$50 and to earn both products you need a qualifying order of US$100. Demonstrator Training January Blog Hop

It's a cold, snowy day here in Colorado, which is a perfect reason to stay inside and create beautiful cards to share as part of the Demonstrator Training January Blog Hop. You will have the opportunity to visit with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as they share their projects and ideas to help spark your creativity. Our theme is Thank You and Congratulations cards to share with the people in our lives. 

When the weather is cold and dreary, I love to make bright and cheerful cards to help brighten people's days. There is nothing like getting happy mail to bring a smile to someone's face. For my Thank You card today, I chose to use this pretty pattern from the Sunny Days Designer Series Paper, which is a Level 1 Sale-a-bration Reward you can earn free with a qualifying order. I love this sweet cherry design and I wanted it to be the star of the show, so I chose to use the Perennial Postage Bundle to create a simple sentiment label. I don't use Poppy Parade very often, but I love how bold and bright it looks with this design.

This is such a fun card design and simple to create. For the sentiment, I chose to stamp the image from the Perennial Postage stamp set onto Basic White cardstock with Shaded Spruce Classic ink to coordinate with the colors in the designer series paper. I die cut the sentiment with one of the Perennial Postage Dies and then layered it onto a Poppy Parade die cut with the die one size larger. I added two pieces of the Sweet Sorbet Bordered Ribbon across the middle of the card front and added the sentiment label on top with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up. For a touch of bling, I used some Pretty Peacock Gems from the Tinsel Gems Four Pack to complete the design. You may have noticed that the Sweet Sorbet Ribbon and Pretty Peacock Gems are a close match to Poppy Parade and Shaded Spruce and it's a good reminder that you can mix and match products to help you design your cards and projects.

Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge - Wild Wheat

It's time for Week 2 of the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Challenge and this week our color is Wild Wheat, one of our 2023-2025 In Colors. We have been challenged to create a card design using this color to showcase Stampin' Up!'s amazing color coordination to help spark your own creativity. 

Wild Wheat is one of those colors that people can have strong feelings about. At first glance, it may not be a color that you would be drawn to, but I am hoping that my card design will encourage you to give this chameleon like color a second look. I have chosen to use one of the designs from the Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper, a Sale-a-bration Level 1 Reward you can earn Free with a qualifying $50 order. I love this beautiful tone on tone botanical design and it has this wonderful vintage feel to it. I wanted to create a clean and simple design that would allow this color to shine, so I chose to use the Layering Leaves stamp set from the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog, with its wonderful sentiments that work well for a variety of occasions. With some detailed die cuts using the coordinating Stippled Roses Dies to add some texture and a little coordinating bling, I think this card design showcases this beautiful color.

This is such a simple card design but I feel like the simplicity helps to showcase what a beautiful color Wild Wheat really is. I love how it looks with botanical prints like the one I have chosen for the card front for this design. I feel like this color has a slight olive tinge to it that lends itself well with leaves and foliage, so I added the detailed die cuts created with the Stippled Roses Dies to add some contrast and texture to the design. For the sentiment, I stamped the image from the Layering Leaves stamp set with Wild Wheat Classic ink onto Basic White cardstock and punched it out with the 2 3/8" Circle Punch. I added the circle to the card front to pop it up using Stampin' Dimensionals, layering it over the detailed die cuts. For a touch of bling, I added several of the Wild Wheat Dots to finish off the design. To me, this card design has the look of aged Gold that you would find on a vintage card. So what do you think?
