We Create Basics Blog Hop

It's time to hop along with the We Create Basics Blog Hop as we create projects using just the basic colors - Basic Black, Whisper White and Very Vanilla. This was a difficult challenge for me as I love color and it took a lot of thought before I came up with my card design using Whisper White and Basic Black.
For my card design today, I am using the New Over The Moon stamp set (item #149331) from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog, that will launch on June 4th. I just love the cute cow images in this stamp set and it inspired me to create my card for this challenge.
To start with I chose Basic Black cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Whisper White cardstock for the main panel. Using two of the smaller background stamps from the Love What You Do stamp set (item #148042), I stamped them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink to create the look of spots on a cow's hide. It was so much fun and I may have gotten a little carried away.

For the focal point, I stamped the cow image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and die cut it with one of the circles from the Layering Circles Dies (item #141705). I die cut a scalloped circle from Basic Black cardstock from the same set of dies and layered them. I colored the spots, hair and hooves with the Basic Black Stampin' Blends Markers.
Now it's time to assemble the card. I added a piece of Whisper White 5/8" Flax Ribbon (item #148764) to the card front add attached the circles on top with Stampin' Dimensionals.

To create the sentiment, I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and punched it out using the Classic Label Punch (item #141491) and then punched out another shape from a scrap of Basic Black cardstock. I cut this piece in half and attached it to the back of the sentiment with Snail Adhesive. I also punched out a scalloped circle from Basic Black cardstock using the 1 1/8" Scallop Circle Punch (item #146138) and attached it to the back of the sentiment in the center and attached the sentiment to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
This card was so much fun to create and has opened my eyes to creating projects using Black and White. I hope that my card has helped inspire you to experiment with the basics for your projects.  If you love in the U.S. and do not already have a demonstrator, please contact me and I would be happy to help you.
