Stamping With Friends April Blog Hop Bloggers Choice

Welcome to the Stamping With Friends April Blog Hop and today our theme is Bloggers Choice. Our Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to get creative. I love that we have the freedom to share whatever we choose for this blog hop, so today I thought I would share some of my favorite retiring products and a fun technique.
If you have been following me for a while, you know that I love creating clean and simple cards using designer series paper. For today's card design, I have chosen a fun scrappy strip technique that I learned from a fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Karen Titus, that is a great way to use up your scraps of designer series paper to create beautiful cards. You can see her video here. I chose to use the beautiful Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper to create the focal design for my card and combined it with the Tailor Made Tags Dies and the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. Both of these products are retiring and are available while supplies last until April 30th. The colors I chose are from the designer series paper and I love how Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon and Berry Burst look together.

Berry Burst Cardstock
Sentiment Tag - die cut with the Tailor Made Tags Dies
This fun card design is so much fun to create and this layout would work for so many of your favorite designer series paper scraps. The beauty of this layout is that you can choose how wide you want your strips to be and arrange them how you like to create your finished design. Once I had cut up the strips from my 3 1/2" square of designer series paper, I adhered them to the piece of Pretty Peacock cardstock, leaving a gap between each strip. To add some interest to the background, I embossed the Lost Lagoon cardstock layer with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. I love the subtle texture this embossing folder adds to the card design. I layered the background onto the Pretty Peacock card base and added the focal layer to the center of the Lost Lagoon card front using Stampin' Dimensionals. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image using Silver embossing powder onto Berry Burst cardstock and die cut the tag using the Tailor Made Tags Dies. I tied a piece of the Silver Trim through the hole on the tag and adhered the tag to the right side of the focal layer. To complete the card design, I added several Iridescent Pastel Gems to the card front to add a touch of bling. This card design is perfect for so many occasions and gives you the option to personalize it for the person receiving it.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope my card design helps inspire you to use all those scraps of designer series paper to create your own beautiful cards. There are so many wonderful possibilities to explore. New At SU March Blog Hop Stippled Roses Gift

Welcome to the New At SU March Blog Hop with this month's challenge being "Not A Card". Our wonderful Design Team members will be showcasing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to create projects beyond the handmade card you might send to someone special. There are so many wonderful options to explore and I am excited to see what everyone will be sharing this month.
For my project, I decided to create a pretty treat box using the Square Pillow Boxes in the January-April 2024 Mini Catalog. They are a part of the Bee Mine Suite but I thought I would show how you can transform the box into a beautiful, elegant gift idea using the Stippled Roses stamp set. I was able to transform the color of the box from Basic White to a pretty soft Balmy Blue using Blending Brushes and added a tone on tone design with images from the stamp set. I love how something so simple can turn into something so beautiful.
Products Used:
Stippled Roses Bundle (item #162667)
Go To Greetings stamp set (item #158763)
Tailor Made Tags Dies (item #155563)
Square Pillow Boxes (item #162559)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Gold Foil Sheets (item #1321622)
Balmy Blue Classic Ink Pad (item #147105)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Metallics Embossing Powders (item #155555)
Blending Brushes (item #153611)
Balmy Blue 1/2" Variegated Ribbon (item #160448)
Gold & Silver 1/8" Trim Combo Pack (item #161633)
Mini Glue Dots (item #103683)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
1 Square Pillow Box
Basic White
Sentiment Tag die cut with the Tailor Made Tags Dies
Gold Foil
Detailed Leaves die cut with the Stippled Roses Dies
Sometimes you have a small gift and you just want a way to package it to make it extra special. The Square Pillow Boxes are a wonderful way to personalize a gift without needing a lot of supplies. To decorate the pillow box, I applied Balmy Blue Classic ink to the matte side of the box, using a Blending Brush. I created an ombre feel to the background by varying the amount of color I applied to certain areas. Next, I stamped the small rose and the large leaves images using Balmy Blue Classic ink to create a soft and pretty tone on tone design onto the blended background. Once I had the design I wanted, I assembled the box, removing the covering from the adhesive so that it would hold together. I tied a piece of the Balmy Blue Variegated Ribbon around the box (on the side that does not have the opening) and tied a large loopy bow on the front. To create the sentiment label, I heat embossed the image from the Go To Greetings stamp set onto Basic White cardstock with Gold embossing powder and then die cut it out with the Tailor Made Tags Dies. I then tied a piece of Gold Trim to the tag and attached it to the Balmy Blue ribbon near the bow, to hide the knot. I added Stampin' Dimensionals behind the tag to attach it to the front of the box at a slight angle. To complete the box design, I cut apart the detailed leaves that I die cut from Gold Foil and attached them to the top and bottom of the tag using Mini Glue Dots. I love the way the Gold accents take this gift box to the next level and add a touch of elegance to the design. With the opening of the box on the side, it means that you can access what is inside the box without having to remove the decoration on the box.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my gift box idea helps inspire you to create your own beautiful gift to give to someone special. A handmade gift is a gift from the heart and a way to show how much you care about them. There are so many wonderful options to choose from to help you create your own unique gift ideas. The Square Pillow Boxes are a great option, especially if you are looking for a quick and simple packaging option.

Inspire. Create. Share. March Blog Hop Spring Is Coming

It's time to hop along with the Inspire. Create. Share. March Blog Hop and this month we are showcasing Spring projects to help you get ready for the new season. It's hard to believe that Spring is almost here and our wonderful Design Team members are excited to share their projects and ideas to help inspire you to get creative.
Often when you think of Spring, you think of pretty florals and soft pastel colors. So I thought I would combine these two elements to create a soft and pretty card design using the Enduring Beauty Bundle. For the background, I used one of the new Fun Patterns Embossing Folders to add some texture. Recently I learned a new technique called Etching, so I decided to try it with this card and I love how it added depth and dimension to the floral design. The overall design has a modern, artistic feel to it that I think works well for Spring.
Products Used:
Enduring Beauty Bundle (item #162674)
Go To Greetings stamp set (item #158763)
Timeless Arrangements Dies (item #161525)

Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Bubble Bath Classic Ink Pad (item #161664)
Fresh Freesia Classic Ink Pad (item #155611)
Soft Sea Foam Classic Ink Pad (item #146988)
Parakeet Party Classic Ink Pad (item #159208)
Memento Tuxedo Black Pad (item #132708)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Metallics Embossing Powders (item #155555)
Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker (item #162481)
Festive Pearls (item #159963)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Blending Brushes (item #153611)

Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4)

Basic White Cardstock
Floral image stamped, colored & die cut with the Enduring Beauty Bundle
The Enduring Beauty Bundle is perfect for creating beautiful Spring cards for a variety of occasions. There are so many different ways you can mix and match the stamp set, masks and coordinating dies to get creative. I chose to use all three to create my Spring themed card. I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White cardstock and used the masks to color the images. For the flowers I used Bubble Bath and Fresh Freesia Classic ink pads and for the leaves I chose Soft Sea Foam and Parakeet Party ink pads. I applied the color to the masks using blending brushes to give the stamped image a soft and pretty look. For the etching on the images, I used the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to add small lines to add depth and texture. I love the artistic feeling that this technique adds to this image. I used the coordinating Enduring Beauty Dies to die cut the image to create the focal point for my card design. For the background layer, I cut a piece of Bubble Bath cardstock measuring 5" x 3 3/4" into three separate pieces and then embossed them using one of the Fun Patterns Embossing Folders. I love the delicate detail it adds to the background without being overwhelming. I attached the three pieces to a piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock and then layered it onto the Basic Black cardstock that helps to frame the layers and make it pop against the Soft Sea Foam card base. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Go To Greetings stamp set with Gold embossing powder onto Basic Black cardstock and used one of the Timeless Arrangements Dies to die cut the label. I added the sentiment to the bottom right corner of the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals and added the floral image so that the leaves slightly overlap the sentiment, also using Stampin' Dimensionals. For a touch of bling, I added several Gold Pearls to coordinate with the Gold embossing. I love how this design turned out using these products to create a fresh and pretty card for Spring.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects to celebrate Spring. There are so many wonderful possibilities to explore.

Stamping With Friends March Blog Hop Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

Welcome to the Stamping With Friends March Blog Hop and this month we have a Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge to help spark our creativity. We get to choose 3 in a row either horizontally, vertically or diagonally to help us create our project designs. Our wonderful Design Team will be sharing their ideas and projects to help inspire you to give this challenge a try.
For my card design, I started with the left vertical side to create a Thank You card with embossing and Designer Series Paper but then I realized that I also had the elements for the right vertical side as I also included a butterfly, with floral designer series paper and vellum accents. So I guess you could say I have a 2 for one design. Now that we are in the month of March, Spring is approaching fast, so I decided to create a pretty Spring card design using a color that I don't use very often, Bubble Bath. I am not really a pink girl, so this was an additional challenge for me and I must admit, I do like how it turned out.
Products Used:
Go To Greetings stamp set (item #15873)
Thoughtful Expressions Dies (item #162821)
Perennial Postage Dies (item #162607)
Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper (item #161640)
Paper Butterfly Accents (item #1621612)
Bubble Bath Cardstock (item #161718)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Vellum Cardstock (item #101856)
Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154902)
Bubble Bath Classic Ink Refill (item #161670)
Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush (item #141897)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Metallics Embossing Powders (item #155555)
Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack (item #161635)
Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins (item #160387)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Bubble Bath Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Matte Label die cut with the Thoughtful Expressions Dies
Basic White Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Sentiment Label die cut with the Perennial Postage Dies
Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4" Center die cut out with the Thoughtful Expressions Dies
Vellum Cardstock
5 sets of Leaves die cut with the Thoughtful Expressions Dies
This pretty card design is a little more over the top than I would normally create. I loved the Bubble Bath and White striped pattern of the designer series paper and the reverse side had a pretty floral that coordinated perfectly with it. I die cut the center out of the designer series paper card front using one of the Thoughtful Expressions Dies and then flipped it over and so that the floral side was facing up. I then attached it to a Bubble Bath matte layer one size larger, also cut using the Thoughtful Expressions Dies. I attached the striped side of the designer series paper to the Basic White cardstock layer and added a piece of the Bubble Bath Sheer Ribbon around the center, attaching the ends to the back. I then added this layer to my Bubble Bath card base. I added the focal panel to the center of the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals so that it covers the hole in the card front.
For the butterfly, I colored the die cut using one drop of the Bubble Bath Classic ink refill with the Clear Wink of Stella to give the butterfly a pretty pink shimmer. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image from the Go To Greetings stamp set with Gold embossing powder onto the Basic White sentiment label and attached it to the bottom of the focal layer with Stampin' Dimensionals. I then added the butterfly die cut above the sentiment label, centering it on the focal panel. For the vellum leaves, I colored them with the Dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends Marker to add some soft color and then added them to the card front so that the ends tucked underneath the center panel, arranging them at the top left corner and the bottom right corner. For a touch of bling, I added some Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins to finish off the design. I really love how this pretty card turned out and I had so much fun with this Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to explore the options in the Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge this month to help you create your own beautiful card design. There are so many options to explore.

Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 9 Tahitian Tide

Happy Friday everyone. We are starting off the month of March with the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge and for Week 9 we are creating with the beautiful Tahitian Tide. This pretty blue lives up to its name with a wonderful tropical feeling to it that has me thinking of holidaying on a tropical island with white sandy beaches and clear blue waters. I guess you could say that this is what influenced me for today's card design.
When I started thinking about swimming in the ocean, I thought about what I might find as I explore and it brought to mind sea turtles and how they glide effortlessly through the water. So, I decided to use the Sea Turtle stamp set from the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog to create my card design, showcasing the wonderful shades of this color using Generational stamping and blending to create this pretty background. I added some texture to the background using the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. I love how Silver embossing looks with blue, so I chose to heat emboss the turtle image and sentiment onto Vellum cardstock to create the focal design.
Products Used:
Sea Turtle stamp set (item #160500)
Go To Greetings stamp set (item #158763)
Scalloped Contours Dies (item #155560)
Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder (item #154317)
Tahitian Tide Cardstock (item #159261)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Vellum Cardstock (item #101856)
Tahitian Tide Classic Ink Pad (item #159210)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Metallics Embossing Powders (item #155555)
Blending Brushes (item #153611)
2022-2024 In Color Pearls (item #161621)
Measurements:
Tahitian Tide Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Basic White Cardstock
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
Vellum Cardstock
Focal Layer die cut with the Scalloped Contours Dies
This card is a fun combination of techniques to help you step your design up to the next level. I love how the Silver embossing on the Vellum cardstock pops against the Tahitian Tide tone on tone stamped background. To create the different layers of color for the background, I started by gently blending Tahitian Tide Classic ink onto the Basic White card front to create a soft blue all over background. I then stamped the bubbles image several times around the edges to add some texture and deeper color. For the fish, I stamped off once and then stamped the image onto the cardstock to create a lighter color that gives the impression that the fish are further back to add some depth to the design. To add some additional texture, I embossed the background layer with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder and I like how it gives the appearance of waves in the water. I added the Vellum cardstock to the card front with adhesive behind the embossed turtle so that it doesn't show up. To finish off the design, I added several Tahitian Tide Pearls for a touch of bling. Isn't it so pretty? I love how this card design showcases how beautiful Tahitian Tide looks. Let me know if you are a fan or not of this amazing color in the comments below.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to explore this wonderful blue and use it to create your own beautiful projects. There are so many options to choose from.
