Stamping Inkspirations April Blog Hop Fun Fold Time

Welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations April Blog Hop as we month explore the wonderful world of "Fun Folds". Our talented Design Team members will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire to try creating your own beautiful projects and step outside your comfort zone.
Today I wanted to showcase the beautiful Awash In Beauty Designer Series Paper, which is sadly retiring. I chose to create a simple Accordion Fun Fold that I saw on fellow Demonstrator, Tami White's blog. The wonderful thing about this fun fold is that it allows you to see both sides of the designer series paper for an extra Wow factor. I paired it with several retiring die sets, including the Brilliant Wings Dies, which as the most beautiful detailed butterfly die cuts that are wonderful focal designs.

This pretty Accordion Fun Fold is simple to create and so much fun to decorate. After scoring the designer series paper layer and folding on the score lines, I attached the back panel to the Balmy Blue card base to create the basic card design. For the inside insert, I stamped the sentiment with Calypso Coral Classic ink onto the Basic White layer and attached it to the Balmy Blue cardstock layer. I then attached this to the inside back panel of the designer series paper. To decorate the front panel, I added a Calypso Coral cardstock scalloped border to the inside edge of the front panel so that the stitched line is visible on the inside front layer and scalloped edge is even and straight when viewing from the front of the card. I attached the Swirled Circle to the front folded flap with Stampin' Dimensionals and then added the Gold Metallic circle to the center. For the detailed butterfly, I attached it to the center of the Gold circle with Mini Glue Dots and added Basic Rhinestones to the center of the butterfly for a touch of bling. This is a great way to display both sides of your designer series paper to create a beautiful card design.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my Fun Fold card design will help inspire you to experiment with creating your own designs to share with family and friends. There are so many wonderful possibilities to explore.

New At SU April Blog Hop Celebrating Mother's Day

Welcome to the New At SU April Blog Hop as we celebrate Moms, Dads, Brides & Grads. There are so many special occasions coming up in the next couple of months and our Design Team members will be sharing projects and ideas to help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects. For my card design, I will be Celebrating Mother's Day, a special occasion to celebrate the special mothers in our lives.
For my card design today, I wanted to create a beautiful, elegant Mother's Day card and what better way to do that than with the gorgeous Expressions In Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper. The designs in this paper pack are simply stunning and I chose to use one of the patterns with the gold foil accents for my background. The Celebrating You stamp set is an amazing sentiment stamp set and I just love the beautiful script for the Happy Mother's Day image. The die cut tea cup is a Sneak Peek from the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog and was created with the new Teacup Dies. The detailed butterfly die cut is from the Brilliant Wings Dies looks amazing in gold foil to coordinate with the designer series paper.

Mother's Day cards should be extra special to celebrate the amazing women in our lives. I struggle to create over the top cards with lots of layers, preferring to keep my designs clean and simple. I chose to use Gold Foil to create my detailed butterfly and the detailed layer for my teacup to coordinate with the gold accents in the designer series paper background. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image with Gold embossing powder for an elegant touch and to tie all the elements of the card together. To embellish the card, I used Basic Rhinestone Jewels for the body of the butterfly to add some bling as well as several of the Brushed Brass Butterflies to embellish the teacup and sentiment label.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to create your own beautiful Mother's Day cards to share with the special women in your life. There are so many wonderful products to choose from to help you create your own unique design.

Kre8tors 2022 March Blog Hop Sketch Challenge

Welcome to the Kre8tors 2022 March Blog Hop and this month we have a Sketch Challenge to help us with our card designs. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as they share their projects and ideas to help inspire you to create your own wonderful designs using the sketch layout below.
For my card design, I followed the measurements and placement of the sketch pretty closely. With the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog retiring soon, I wanted to revisit some old favorites to create my card design. I chose to use the beautiful Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper to create my background and used one of the small butterfly die cuts from the Brilliant Wings Dies for my focal image. I love the soft and pretty colors in this designer series paper and I think it makes for a lovely Spring themed Thank You card.
Products Used:
Celebrating You stamp set (item #158028)
Brilliant Wings Dies (item #155523)
Tasteful Labels Dies (item #152886)
Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper (item #155499)
Pale Papaya Cardstock (item #155668)
Soft Sea Foam Cardstock (item #146988)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Gold Foil Sheets (item #132622)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Metallics Embossing Powders (item #155555)
Pale Papaya 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon (item #155672)
Basic Rhinestone Jewels (item #144220)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Mini Glue Dots (item #103683)
Measurements:
Pale Papaya Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Soft Sea Foam Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5" x 3 3/4"
Focal Circle die cut with the Tasteful Labels Dies
Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper
Background Layer - 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" cut into two pieces
- 1 1/4" x 3 1/2" & 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" (Flip one of the pieces over)
Basic White Cardstock
Sentiment Label die cut with the Tasteful Layers Dies
The secret to this card design is the designer series paper. I cut one piece of the Hand-Penned Designer Series measuring 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" and then cut it into two pieces measuring 1 1/4" x 3 1/2" and 3 1/2" x 3 1/2". I flipped over one of the pieces so that I have two coordinating yet contrasting designs. I adhered them to the Soft Sea Foam layer, lining them up so that they appear to create one piece. For the focal design, I die cut one of the small butterflies from Gold Foil using the Brilliant Wings Dies. I also die cut the larger circle from the Tasteful Labels Dies to create the background and attached the center of the butterfly to it with Mini Glue Dots. The sentiment was created by heat embossing the image with Gold embossing onto the sentiment label.
To assemble to card design, I wrapped a piece of the Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon around the card front to hide the seam for the two pieces of the designer series paper, and attached the ends to the back of the card front. I attached the card front to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up and add dimension to the card. Using Stampin' Dimensionals, I attached the butterfly focal image to the right side of the card, over the top of the ribbon. I added the sentiment label so that it slightly overlaps the top of the ribbon and the end hides underneath the focal image. To finish off the card design, I added Basic Rhinestone Jewels to embellish the butterfly and the sentiment label for a touch of bling.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to explore creating your own project using this sketch layout. There are so many wonderful Stampin' Up! products to choose from to help you create card designs for all occasions.

Colour Combo March Blog Hop

Welcome to the Colour Combo March Blog Hop as we explore creating projects with Bermuda Bay, Balmy Blue and Soft Sea Foam. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as they share their projects and ideas to help inspire you and spark your creativity.
I love how these three colors work together and I wanted to showcase them in a bold yet simple design. For this card, I decided to use the Brilliant Wings Dies and I paired it with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder to add texture to the background. The Black card base provides a bold frame for the Basic White background which helps make the butterflies pop. It's not often that I create a card that has no stamping, but I am really happy with how this no-stamping card design turned out.
Products Used:
Brilliant Wings Dies (item #155523)
Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder (item #154317)
Basic Black Cardstock (item #121045)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Bermuda Bay Cardstock (item #131197)
Balmy Blue Cardstock (item #146982)
Soft Sea Foam Cardstock (item #146988)
Basic Rhinestone Jewels (item #144220)
Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (item #144108)
Measurements:
Basic Black Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Basic White Cardstock
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
Bermuda Bay Cardstock
Detailed Butterfly die cut with Brilliant Wings Dies
Balmy Blue Cardstock
Detailed Butterfly die cut with Brilliant Wings Dies
Soft Sea Foam Cardstock
Detailed Butterfly die cut with Brilliant Wings Dies
This clean and simple card design is a great way to showcase these beautiful colors using the detailed butterflies from the Brilliant Wings Dies. I cut one of each color using the same size die to create the focal design for my card. For the background, I embossed the Basic White cardstock layer with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. I love the texture that this adds to the card design. I adhered the Basic White cardstock layer to the Basic Black card base and then positioned the butterfly die cuts so that they are equally spaced down the center of the card front, starting with Bermuda Bay, then Balmy Blue and finally Soft Sea Foam. I attached them by cutting a Mini Stampin' Dimensional in half to attach to the back of the body of the butterfly and then attached them to the card front. To finish off the card design, I added Basic Rhinestone Jewels in three different sizes, going from largest to smallest from the head down towards the tail. I decided to not add a sentiment to my card design because I liked the symmetry of this design. This makes it a great all occasion card design that would work well for both men and women of all ages.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects with this color combination. There are so many wonderful possibilities available using Stampin' Up!'s coordinating products.

Ink. Stamp. Share. April Monthly Blog Hop Sketch Challenge

Welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share. April Monthly Blog Hop and this month we have a sketch challenge to help spark our creativity. You will be visiting with wonderful Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as they share their tips and ideas to help inspire you.
Sketches are a wonderful starting point when you need inspiration for a card design. It is like a road map that helps you to plan your layout and you choose what colors and images you want to use to create your own unique version.
For my card design, I chose to use one of the pretty papers from the Flowers For Every Season 6"x6" Designer Series Paper (item #152486) for the lower half of the background and I chose colors from this paper to create my card design. For the decorative element, I chose to use one of the detailed butterflies from the Brilliant Wings Dies (item #155523) and the sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set, which is one of my go-to sentiment stamp sets for birthdays.
Products Used:
Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set (item #148618) - Retiring
Flowers For Every Season 6"x6" Designer Series Paper
(item #152486) - Retiring
Banner Triple Punch (item #138292) - Retiring
Brilliant Wings Dies (item #155523)
Meadow Moments Embossing Folders (item #153126)
Stitched Rectangles Dies (item #151820)
Misty Moonlight Cardstock (item #153081)
Just Jade Cardstock (item #153079)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
White Embossing Powder (item #109132) - Retiring
Just Jade 1/4" Ribbon (item #153621) - Retiring
Basic Rhinestone Jewels (item #144220)
Measurements:
Misty Moonlight Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Banner - 1 1/2" x 4" (One end punched with the Banner Triple Punch)
Sentiment Label die cut with one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies
Just Jade Cardstock
Banner - 1 /2" x 4" (One end punched with the Banner Triple Punch)
Basic White Cardstock
Background Layer - 5 1/4" x 4" Embossed with one of the Meadow Moments Embossing Folders
Detailed Butterfly die cut with the Brilliant Wings Dies
Flowers For Every Season Designer Series Paper
Layer - 2" x 5 1/4"
By following the layout of the sketch, it is easy to assemble this card to create a pretty clean and simple design. I embossed the Basic White cardstock layer to add texture and added the designer series paper layer to the bottom of this background layer. I added a piece of Just Jade 1/4" Ribbon to cover the seam of the designer series paper and provide the element in the sketch. For the banners, I used the Banner Triple Punch to create a banner on one end of the Misty Moonlight and Just Jade strips and then trimmed the length so that the Misty Moonlight piece was approx. 3 1/2" long and the Just Jade piece was approx. 3 3/4" long. I layered them and attached them to the left side of the card front, adding the detailed Basic White butterfly as the element in the sketch. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image with White Embossing Powder onto a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock and die cut it with one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies and added it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. To finish off the design, I added three Basic Rhinestone Jewels for a touch of bling. This card design would work well for a variety of occasions and you could adapt it to work other designer series paper patterns to create a completely different look. There are so many wonderful possibilities to explore when using a sketch.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to try creating your own beautiful projects using this fun sketch challenge. A sketch layout can be a wonderful way to help get you started when you are experiencing a creative block and they help to provide a road map for your own beautiful creations.
