We Create May Blog Hop Mother May I?

Welcome to the We Create May Blog Hop with our theme this month, "Mother May I?" With Mother's Day coming up soon, our Design Team will be sharing projects and ideas to help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects for this special occasion and beyond.
For my card design, I wanted to create a card that was not your traditional Mother's Day card. We have so many women in our lives that are mothers but not necessarily our own mother. Wouldn't it be great to recognize them with their own special card and show them the love in our hearts for all they do. Maybe it's a daughter or daughter-in-law, a sister, a close friend or someone else that you feel deserves to be celebrated. So for my card design, I chose one of the images from the new Hearts & Hugs Bundle from the new 2024-2025 Annual Catalog, which launched today. I paired it with two of the brand new 2024-2026 In Colors to show how these beautiful colors can help you create a sweet and heartwarming card design. For this design, I chose Petunia Pop as my main color and Pretty In Pink as my accent color. I also chose Gray Granite to color the badgers and I think it adds a wonderful contrast to the bright colors.

2024-2026 In Color Shimmer Gems (item #163781)

Measurements:
Petunia Pop Cardstock

Pretty In Pink Cardstock
Sentiment Label die cut with the Everyday Details Dies
5 Small Hearts die cut with the Hearts & Hugs Dies
Basic White Cardstock
Large Detailed Circle die cut with the Everyday Details Dies
Hugging Badgers image stamped and die cut with the Hearts & Hugs Bundle
Petunia Pop Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
The new 2024-2026 In Colors are simply gorgeous and I had a hard time deciding which color combination to go with for this card design. In the end, I thought the combination of Petunia Pop and Pretty In Pink worked best for this occasion but I do encourage you to explore combining some of the other colors to come up with your own comibnations. I really liked the striped Petunia Pop design for my background and how it makes the focal design pop. I chose to use the hugging badgers image from the Hearts & Hugs stamp set because it made me think of a mother hugging her child. I colored the badgers with the Gray Granite Stampin' Blends Markers and used the Light Pretty In Pink Stampin' Blends Marker for their noses. I die cut them out using the coordinating Hearts & Hugs Dies. I used the largest circle from the Everyday Details Dies to create the focal background and I stamped the triple hearts image several times towards the top using Pretty In Pink Classic ink and then colored them in with the Light Pretty In Pink Stampin' Blends Marker. I added the badgers to the circle using Stampin' Dimensionals, placing them towards the bottom of the circle to allow the stamped hearts to show above them. I added a piece of Pretty In Pink Bordered Ribbon around the center of the Petunia Pop Designer Series Paper layer, attaching the ends to the back. I added this layer to the card base and then added the circle over the ribbon with Stampin' Dimensionals, centering the circle on the card front. For the sentiment, I stamped the image onto the Pretty In Pink sentiment label I die cut with the Everyday Details Dies. I attached the sentiment label to the bottom right side of the card front so that it slightly overlapped the focal circle, underneath the badger's feet. To embellish the card design, I added several small hearts die cut with the Hearts & Hugs Dies to the top right and bottom left corners of the card front. I also added two of the Petunia Pop Shimmer Gems to the corners of the sentiment label for a touch of bling. I think this card design would be perfect not only as a sweet Mother's Day card from the heart but for so many other occasions. Who wouldn't love to receive this adorable card?

Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 6 Orchid Oasis

It's Friday which means it's time for the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge. Can you believe it's Week 6 already? This week we are showcasing my favorite color, Orchid Oasis, one of the 2022-2024 In Colors. This week I was inspired by the beautiful Delft Blue China that I remember seeing when I lived in Europe.
For my design, I chose to use the beautiful Stippled Roses Bundle to create the floral background using Orchid Oasis Classic ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock. The focal image was created using the large floral and I heat embossed it with Clear embossing powder onto Orchid Oasis cardstock to create an elegant tone on tone design. My sentiment features one of the circle dies from the new Everyday Details Dies. I just love how this card design turned out and how it showcases this amazing color.

Detailed Dogwood stamp set (item #162953) Level 1 Sale-a-bration Reward
Everyday Details Dies (item #162864)
Stylish Shapes Dies (item #159183)
Orchid Oasis Cardstock (item #159267)

2022-2024 In Color Pearls (item #161621)
Blending Brushes (item #153611)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Orchid Oasis Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Stippled Rose image stamped and die cut with the Stippled Roses Bundle
Basic White Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5 1/4" x 4"
Card Front - 5" x 3 3/4" stamped with the Stippled Roses stamp set
Sentiment Label die cut with the Everyday Details Dies
Cardstock Vellum
Circle die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies
Today's card design is a wonderful combination of a variety of my favorite techniques. The focal image was created by heat embossing the large floral image onto Orchid Oasis cardstock using Clear embossing powder to create a beautiful tone on tone design. I love the subtle shine the embossing adds to the image. For the background, I used the small floral and the large leaves image to create the background design using Orchid Oasis Classic ink on Basic White cardstock. I added texture to the design using the texture images from the Detailed Dogwood stamp set, stamping off several times to create a lighter more subtle image. I then added some color around the edges using a Blending Brush to add blended color to the background. I layered this background layer onto a layer of Basic White cardstock and then attached it to the Orchid Oasis card base with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up. For the sentiment, I stamped the image with Orchid Oasis Classic ink onto a Basic White circle die cut using the new Everyday Details Dies and then layered it onto a Vellum cardstock circle that I die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies. To add a touch of color to the vellum layer, I gently added some Orchid Oasis Classic ink to the back of the circle using a Blending Brush to give it a hint of blue. I added a piece of the Orchid Oasis Metallic Woven Ribbon behind the sentiment to add some sparkle. I attached the focal image to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals and then added the sentiment label to the lower left corner, also using Stampin' Dimensionals. To complete the design, I added several Orchid Oasis Pearls for a touch of bling. I am so happy with how this card design turned out and all the wonderful layers of color that help bring this design to life. Can you see why I love Orchid Oasis? How could you not love this gorgeous color?

This beautiful Mother's Day card is a wonderful combination of die cutting and designer series paper. The flowers and leaves have been die cut from one of the sheets of designer series paper that coordinates with the Blossoming Happiness Dies. The detailed background was created using the Split Card Textures Dies and I framed it with the large frame die from the Fabulous Frames Dies, using the Brushed Gold Metallic cardstock to step up the design. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image from the Celebrating You stamp set with Gold embossing powder to coordinate with the frame. To complete the card design, I added several Brushed Brass Butterflies for a subtle touch of bling. This card is perfect for creating beautiful cards quickly and without the fuss of coloring images. Global Stamping Friends May Blog Hop A Mother's Love

It's time to hop along with the Global Stamping Friends May Blog Hop as we celebrate A Mother's Love. With Mother's Day just a few days away, it seems like the perfect time to showcase cards for the wonderful women in our lives. Our Design Team members will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects.
One of my favorite things about a new catalog, is the opportunity to combine new products with old favorites. One of my favorite new bundles is the Happiness Abounds Bundle with its beautiful floral images and wonderful sentiments and the coordinating dies to make life easier. I combined the line images from this stamp set with the background image from the Artistically Inked stamp set, which is one of my favorites, to create color variation and texture for the images. The beautiful sentiment is from the Celebrating You stamp set, which is a wonderful sentiment collection perfect for a variety of occasions. As you know, I love adding gold details to my card designs, and for this beautiful card I added Gold embossing for he images and Gold Foil for the frame of the circle die cut opening on the front of the card.
Products Used:
Happiness Abounds Bundle (item #158824) New
Artistically Inked stamp set (item #154542)
Celebrating You stamp set (item #158028)

Parakeet Party Classic Ink Pad (item #159208) New
Soft Sea Foam Classic Ink Pad (item #147102)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Metallics Embossing Powders (item #155555)
Brushed Brass Butterflies (item #158136)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Thick Basic White Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Card Front - 4" x 5 1/4" embossed with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder
Basic White Cardstock
Flowers stamped and die cut using the Happiness Abounds Bundle
Gold Foil
Circle Frame die cut with the Stylish Frames Dies
This pretty card design is all about textures and layers. I created a window in the center of the card front using the Stylish Shapes Dies and framed it with Gold foil for a touch of elegance. The background was embossed with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder and I love the vintage look it gives to the card. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image with Gold embossing powder onto the front of the card base so that it was at the top of the window opening. To create the flowers, I stamped the background image from the Artistically Inked stamp set with Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia and Blushing Bride Classic inks onto a piece of Basic White cardstock and then heat embossed the flower images with Gold embossing powder. I repeated the same process for the leaves using Granny Apple Green, Parakeet Party and Soft Sea Foam inks and heat embossed the leaves with Gold embossing. I die cut the images using the coordinating dies and then arranged them around the bottom half of the circle. I attached the flowers with Stampin' Dimensionals and adhered the leaves with Stampin' Seal Adhesive. To complete the design, I added several of the Brushed Brass Butterflies, one of my favorite embellishments.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to create your own beautiful cards for the special women in your life. There are so many wonderful possibilities in the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog to explore.

New At SU April Blog Hop Celebrating Mother's Day

Welcome to the New At SU April Blog Hop as we celebrate Moms, Dads, Brides & Grads. There are so many special occasions coming up in the next couple of months and our Design Team members will be sharing projects and ideas to help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects. For my card design, I will be Celebrating Mother's Day, a special occasion to celebrate the special mothers in our lives.
For my card design today, I wanted to create a beautiful, elegant Mother's Day card and what better way to do that than with the gorgeous Expressions In Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper. The designs in this paper pack are simply stunning and I chose to use one of the patterns with the gold foil accents for my background. The Celebrating You stamp set is an amazing sentiment stamp set and I just love the beautiful script for the Happy Mother's Day image. The die cut tea cup is a Sneak Peek from the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog and was created with the new Teacup Dies. The detailed butterfly die cut is from the Brilliant Wings Dies looks amazing in gold foil to coordinate with the designer series paper.

Mother's Day cards should be extra special to celebrate the amazing women in our lives. I struggle to create over the top cards with lots of layers, preferring to keep my designs clean and simple. I chose to use Gold Foil to create my detailed butterfly and the detailed layer for my teacup to coordinate with the gold accents in the designer series paper background. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image with Gold embossing powder for an elegant touch and to tie all the elements of the card together. To embellish the card, I used Basic Rhinestone Jewels for the body of the butterfly to add some bling as well as several of the Brushed Brass Butterflies to embellish the teacup and sentiment label.
