Ink. Stamp. Share. July Blog Hop Other Celebration

Welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share. July Blog Hop as we explore other celebrations besides birthdays. You will be visiting with Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as they share their projects to help inspire you.
For my celebration, I chose to focus on Halloween with the new Have A Hoot Bundle (item #155208) in the upcoming August-December 2020 Mini Catalog, which launches August 4th. I paired it with the Cobwebs 3D Embossing Folder (item #153578) that can also be found in the new catalog and I love the texture it adds to the background.
I chose Pumpkin Pie cardstock for my card base and added a layer of Basic Black cardstock that I embossed with the Cobwebs 3D Embossing Folder to create this wonderfully detailed background. It's hard to see in the photos, but I am already in love with this new embossing folder and can't wait to use it on more projects. Using the labels die from the Peek A Hoot Dies, I die cut the openings in the Basic Black card front to create windows for my images to "peek" through.

To create the background for the images, I used a layer of Whisper White cardstock the same size as the Basic Black cardstock layer and using a pencil, I traced a faint outline for each window onto the Whisper White layer. I then stamped the two larger owl images onto the Whisper White cardstock layer using Memento Tuxedo Black ink so that they lined up inside the two larger windows. I colored the branches using the Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Markers Combo and colored the background of all three windows with the Gorgeous Grape Watercolor Pencil from the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 pack (item #149014). I used a Blender Pen to smooth out the pencil lines to create a soft watercolor look for the background. I also used the Crushed Curry Watercolor Pencil from the same set, to add a little light around the spider image and smoothed it out with the Blender Pen.
The owls were stamped a second time onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and I colored each of the images from the Have A Hoot stamp set (item #153389) using a variety of colors of Stampin' Blends Markers. I then die cut them using the coordinating dies from the Peek A Hoot Dies (item #153573). I attached the Whisper White layer behind the Basic Black layer so that the stamped backgrounds appeared through the windows. I then added the die cut images to the windows using Stampin' Dimensionals to pop them up.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image onto a scrap of Highland Heather cardstock with White Embossing Powder and colored the embossed sentiment with the Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends Marker to color it. I die cut the sentiment with one of the small oval dies from the Layering Ovals Dies and attached it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals in the bottom left corner. I attached the card front to the Pumpkin Pie card base to complete the design. This bundle was one of my "Must Haves" from the new catalog and I love that it covers a variety of seasons. When you order the stamp set and coordinating dies as a bundle, you save 10%.

Colour Combo October Blog Hop

It's time to hop along with the Colour Combo October Blog Hop as we explore a new color combination. This month we have been challenged to use Lovely Lipstick, Granny Apple Green and Crushed Curry to create our projects. I hope that our creations help inspire you to explore the many possibilities with these beautiful colors.
For this month's color combination, I decided to create a Christmas card using the new Christmas Gleaming Bundle (item #153006) from the 2019 Holiday Catalog. I love that this bundle has everything you need to create beautiful cards for the holidays. The Christmas Gleaming stamp set (item #150464) contains wonderful images and sentiments to decorate your cards and the coordinating Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack (item #150647) makes it simple to punch out the ornament images. Order them separately or save 10% when you order the bundle.
To create this card design, I started with Lovely Lipstick cardstock to create the card base and added a layer of Granny Apple Green cardstock for the card front. I stamped the holly image twice using Granny Apple Green Classic ink onto the card front and water colored the images using Granny Apple Green and Lovely Lipstick Classic inks with an Aquapainter. Once the images were dry, I lightly brushed them with Clear Wink of Stella to add a touch of shimmer. The sentiment was heat embossed with Copper Embossing powder in the bottom right corner to help balance out the card design. To add a little texture to the background, I embossed the Granny Apple Green card front using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder (item #151775).
The focal image was created by stamping the ornament image with Versamark ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock and I heat embossed it with Copper Embossing powder. I then colored the image with the Crushed Curry Water Color Pencil from the Water Color Pencils Assortment 2 (item #149014) and used the Aquapainter to create a watercolor look to the ornament. I then used the larger of the two ornament punches to punch out the image.
Using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies (item #149638), I die cut a piece of Lovely Lipstick cardstock to create the matte and a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock to die cut the smaller label. I embossed the Very Vanilla cardstock label using the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder (item #150665). To assemble the label, I attached the ornament using Stampin' Dimensionals and layered the Very Vanilla label onto the Lovely Lipstick label with Snail adhesive. I attached the label to the card front using Snail adhesive along the left side. To finish off the card design, I added a bow tied with the 1/8" Lovely Lipstick Grosgrain Ribbon (item #146952) with a Mini Glue Dot to the top of the ornament.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card design inspires you to try this color combination and explore using these colors for Holiday cards. If you live in the U.S. and do not already have a demonstrator, please contact me and I would be happy to help you.

SBTD August Blog Hop Bloggers Choice

Welcome to the SBTD (aka Stampers By the Dozen) August Blog Hop and this month our theme is Bloggers Choice. You will be visiting blogs featuring Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world as we inspire you with our projects featuring some of our favorite products. You may have just visited Susan's blog or this may be your first stop along this blog hop. I hope that you will enjoy the projects we have to share today.

By far my favorite products at the moment are featured in the Color Your Season Promotion and they are available only during the month of August (or while supplies last). This promotion features the Blended Seasons bundle, consisting of the Blended Seasons stamp set and coordinating Stitched Seasons Framelits dies, as well as the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2. These products work beautifully together but are also amazing when used separately.

My card design today features all of these amazing products to create a beautiful floral card. The card base was created with Early Espresso cardstock and I added a layer of Crumb Cake cardstock that I embossed using the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and then burnished with Crumb Cake Classic ink using a sponge dauber to bring out the woodgrain texture.

I die cut an opening in the Crumb Cake layer with the medium size label framelit die and then I used the smallest label framelit to die cut a label from Very Vanilla cardstock. I then embossed this label with the Tufted Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and gently rubbed the new Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint over the cardstock to give it and aged vintage look. This new Shimmer Paint will be available in the new 2018 Holiday Catalog starting September 5th.

The floral design is from the Blended Seasons stamp set and I stamped it with Stazon Jet Black ink and colored using the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 and then blended them with a Blender Pen for a soft watercolor look. I then added Clear Wink of Stella for a touch of shimmer.

I added a small piece of Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon behind the floral design and tiny Basic Pearls to the embossed background. For the centers of the flowers, I added small Basic Pearls to add dimension and texture. For the finishing touch to the design, I die cut two sets of leaves using the die cut from the Stitched Seasons Framelits from Granny Apple Green cardstock and then cut them apart to add behind the floral design. I added Clear Wink of Stella to the leaves to coordinate with the rest of the card design.

For the inside of the card, I used a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped the floral image with Soft Suede Classic ink. I then colored them using the watercolor pencils and again blended them with the Blender Pen. A touch of Clear Wink of Stella was added as well. The sentiment was heat embossed with Gold embossing powder to finish everything off.

I loved creating this card design using all the different elements from the Color Your Seasons promotion. They coordinate so beautifully and are so versatile. For me, they are a must have and perfect for projects all year long.
