It's time for the August Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop (aka GSF) and this month we have been challenged to create a project with the theme "Drinks Galore". I recently had a card class for Christmas in July, so I am still feeling the holiday spirit, so I decided to create a Christmas card, using some of the supplies I had left over from my class.
I love the Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper that I featured in my class, so I decided to use one of the pieces I had left over from one of my card designs, using the negative space cut from the Stitched Seasons Framelits Dies (item #149013). This die set is exclusive to the Color Your Season Promotion, which is available only during the month of August, or while supplies last.
The card base is Whisper White and I embossed a layer of Whisper White cardstock with the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (item #143537) to create the background for the coffee cup. The coffee cup was created using the Coffee Café stamp set (item #143677) and the coordinating Coffee Cups Framelits dies (item #143745) using Real Red cardstock for the cup, Soft Suede for the band and Whisper White for the whipped cream on top. The sentiment, from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set (item #146667), was heat embossed with Silver embossing powder on Whisper White cardstock and die cut with the smallest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies (item #145372) and matted onto a scalloped oval die cut with the Layering Ovals Framelits dies (item #141706) from Real Red cardstock.
For added texture, I used Tombow Multipurpose Glue to add Dazzling Diamonds to the whipped cream and I embellished the sentiment with Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels (item #146924). This is a fun and simple Christmas card design to create and now is the perfect time to get a jump start on your holiday cards.
I hope that you have enjoyed my holiday card design for this month's theme and I hope it will inspire you to get an early start on your Christmas cards.
