New At SU April Blog Hop CASEing The Mini Catalog Beside Me

Welcome to the New At SU April Blog Hop as we CASE the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. Our wonderful Design Team members will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to explore the wonderful samples in the catalog. What does CASE stand for? Copy And Selectively Edit or Copy And Share Everything, and it's a wonderful way to find inspiration.
When I saw this card sample in the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog, I was drawn to the layout and the arrangement of circles to create the design. I decided to CASE this card using the Beside Me stamp set, which I am happy to say, will be carrying over to the new Annual Catalog next month. To create the background, I used the Picture This Dies to create the openings in the background and the Stylish Shapes Dies for the additional circles. I simplified the color combination and added texture to step up the design which helped make the focal image pop.

For my card design, I wanted to create a masculine card that combined the layout from the sample card with colors that reflected being near water such as the beach to coordinate with the focal image. I chose Misty Moonlight (a Sneak Peek at a Returning Color), So Saffron (soon to retire), Coastal Cabana and Crumb Cake. For the texture, I used the Cascading Ruffles 3D Embossing Folder to create the feeling of water for the Misty Moonlight layer and I embossed the So Saffron background layer using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder to create the look of sand. To bring out the texture a little more, I used a Sponge Dauber to apply So Saffron Classic ink to the embossed areas of the So Saffron cardstock. For the focal image, I stamped it onto a Basic White large circle using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with a variety of Stampin' Blends Markers. The sentiment label was die cut from Crumb Cake cardstock using the Stylish Labels Dies and I stamped the sentiment with Early Espresso Classic ink. The medium and small circles were die cut from Coastal Cabana cardstock with the Stylish Shapes Dies to add contrast to the design.
To assemble the card, I attached the Misty Moonlight layer to the embossed So Saffron layer, allowing it to show through the circle windows. I added the Coastal Cabana circles to the Misty Moonlight layer and trimmed the excess edges with Paper Snips. Using Stampin' Dimensionals, I attached the large focal circle to the card front and added the sentiment label so that it tucked underneath the right side of the focal circle. I attached the completed card front to the Crumb Cake card base and added several Rustic Metallic Dots to embellish the card. I love how this card design turned out and how I was able to CASE the catalog sample to help me create it.

Scrap cardstock for birds and nest stamped with images from the Sweet Songbird stamp set
This card design is great for celebrating special occasions and I love the variety of sentiments available in the Sweet Songbirds stamp set. I loved creating the cute birds using Tahitian Tide for the main body and then stamping off once with Sweet Sorbet to color the belly of the birds. The beaks were colored with the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend Marker to help them pop. I used Soft Suede ink to stamp the branches and the nest and used the Party Parakeet ink for the leaves. For the flowers, I used Sweet Sorbet and Orchid Oasis inks to add some color to the background. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image with White embossing powder onto an Orchid Oasis sentiment label die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies. I love that this label fit perfectly inside the center window of the card design. For a touch of bling, I added small Iridescent Rhinestones to the center so the flowers for a bit of sparkle. To add some dimension, I popped up the card front layer with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals and centered it onto the stamped Basic White layer. Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities May Blog Hop as we showcase the Change Is Beautiful Kit. You will be visiting with our talented Design Team members as they share their wonderful ideas and alternative projects to help inspire you to think outside the box.
For my alternative card design, I decided to pair the exclusive stamp set from the kit with the pretty Abstract Beauty 4"x6" Specialty Designer Series Paper. I created windows using the Picture This Dies to showcase the different images from the stamp set. With just a touch of gold, this clean and simple card design comes to life.

The images in the exclusive stamp set are so beautiful and I wanted to show how you can create projects with it after you have used the supplies to create the projects in this kit. The Abstract Beauty Specialty Paper has such wonderful bold designs and colors and I love how it pops against the Basic Black layer behind the die cut windows. Stamping Inkspirations December Blog Hop The Sounds Of Christmas

Welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations December Blog Hop as we showcase projects with this month's theme, The Sounds of Christmas. You will be visiting with creative crafters from around the world as they share their wonderful projects and ideas to help inspire you for the holidays.
This month's theme was so much fun and had me singing more than one Christmas carol as I designed my card for this blog hop. The Holly Jolly Wishes stamp set has a wonderful variety of sentiments with lines from different Christmas carols and the hardest part was choosing which one I wanted to use. In the end, I went with two sentiments that went together and I partnered them with the Picture This Dies to create the windows to frame the song lyrics. I also used the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder to add texture to the card and I love the way the musical notes tie in with this theme. For my color palette, I went with more traditional colors including Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce, Basic White and Gold. To create the holly, I used the Merriest Moments Bundle with Shaded Spruce and Cherry Cobbler Classic ink. I love the clean and simple look of this design with the touch of elegance created with the Gold accents.
Products Used:

Gold Foil Sheets (item #132622)

Shaded Spruce Classic Ink Pad (item #147088)
Cherry Cobbler Classic Ink Pad (item #147083)

Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (item #144108)

Holly Leaves & Berries stamped and die cut with the Merriest Moments Bundle
Gold Foil
Medium Circle die cut with Layering Circles Dies
For my card design, I wanted the sentiments to read like you would sing in the song "Deck The Halls". So I decided to use the Picture This Dies to create the openings for the sentiments. I embossed the Cherry Cobbler cardstock layer first with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder and then die cut the openings with the rectangle Picture This Die. I lined up the Cherry Cobbler cardstock layer over the top of the Basic White cardstock layer and used a pencil to mark where the openings would be to line up the sentiments. I stamped the sentiment image with Versamark ink onto the Basic White cardstock at the top and bottom area where it would line up with the openings. I heat embossed the sentiments with Gold embossing powder. I also heat embossed the second sentiment onto the Basic White cardstock circle with Gold embossing powder and layered it onto the Gold Foil circle. I attached the Cherry Cobbler layer to the Basic White cardstock layer with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals so that it lined up over the embossed sentiments. I then attached this layer to the Shaded Spruce card base with adhesive. For the Holly leaves and berries, I stamped two leaves with Shaded Spruce Classic ink and one of the berry cluster with Cherry Cobbler Classic ink onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock and die cut them with the coordinating dies, all from the Merriest Moments Bundle. I attached the circle sentiment label to the center of the card with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals and added the leaves and berries to embellish the top left side of the sentiment circle. I colored the leaves and berries with Clear Wink of Stella to add a touch of shimmer. To finish off the card design, I added some Gilded Gems to the Cherry Cobbler layer for a touch of bling.

Around The World On Wednesday November Blog Hop Favorite Month

Welcome to the Around The World On Wednesday November Blog Hop and our theme this month is our Favorite Month. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as they share their projects and ideas to help inspire you.
It was a hard decision coming up with my favorite month. After much consideration, I decided that December is my favorite because I love Christmas and Christmas is a time for family. Ten years ago, just a few days before Christmas, we adopted two kittens from our local animal shelter and along with our Black Lab, they are an important part of our family. So I decided that I would use the Sweet Little Stockings Bundle to create my Christmas card design to celebrate our furbabies. I used the Macramé 3D Embossing Folder to add texture to the background and the Picture This Dies to create the windows for my card design.
Products Used:
Sweet Little Stockings Bundle (item #156798)
Picture This Dies (item #155559)
Macrame 3D Embossing Folder (item #155435)
Real Red Cardstock (item #102482)
Just Jade Cardstock (item #153079)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Memento Tuxedo Black Pad (item #132708)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Basics Embossing Powders (item #155554)
Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154904)
Basic Black Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154843)
Real Red Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154899)
Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154882)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Basic Rhinestone Jewels (item #144220)
Measurements:
Real Red Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2'" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Sentiment Label die cut with the Stockings Dies
Basic White Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5 1/4" x 4"
2 Cats die cut with the Stockings Dies
1 Dog die cut with the Stockings Dies
3 Santa Hats die cut with the Stockings Dies
1 Present die cut with the Stockings Dies
1 Candy Cane die cut with the Stockings Dies
Just Jade Cardstock
Window Layer - 5" x 3 3/4"
This cute Christmas card has wonderful texture created by the Macramé 3D Embossing Folder. It reminds me of a cable knit sweater, which I love to wear on cold December days. The windows created by the Picture This Dies are perfect for the sweet cats and dog from the Sweet Little Stockings Bundle and I had so much fun coloring the images with Stampin' Blends Markers. I popped up the Just Jade layer with Stampin' Dimensionals to create depth in the design and attached the images with Stampin' Dimensionals inside the windows. The sentiment has been heat embossed with White embossing powder onto the Real Red label and ties in with the Real Red, Just Jade and Basic White color combination. I added a couple of Basic Rhinestone Jewels for a touch of bling to finish off the card design.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects. Inspiration can come from anywhere, even something as simple as your favorite month. There are so many wonderful possibilities to explore.
