Stamptastic Friends June Blog Hop Nautical

Happy Sunday everyone and welcome to the Stamptastic Friends June Blog Hop as we explore this month's nautical theme. Our wonderful Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to inspire you. When I think of nautical, I think of the ocean, sailing, boats and my favorite color - blue.
For my card today, I focused on the ocean, boats and the color blue to help me create my design. The Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper has some wonderful striped designs and I chose one of these to create the background for my card. The blue and white stripes has a wonderful nautical feel to it and when I paired it with the anchor image from the Beauty Of The Deep Bundle, I had the beginnings of my card design.
Products Used:
Beauty Of The Deep Bundle (item #161237)
He's All That stamp set (item #159071)
All That Dies (item #159078)
Stylish Shapes Dies (item #159183)

Metallics Embossing Powders (item #155555)
Linen Thread (item #104199)
Festive Pearls (item #159963)
Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (item #144108)
Measurements:
Night of Navy Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Medium Circle Frame die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies
Sentiment Label die cut with the All That Dies
Misty Moonlight Cardstock
Medium Circle die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies
Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
For my card design, I chose to use Night of Navy, Misty Moonlight and White with a touch of Silver to step up the design. l wanted the anchor image to pop against the Misty Moonlight background so I heat embossed it with Silver embossing powder onto a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock and then die cut it with the coordinating dies. I added it to the center of the Misty Moonlight circle with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up. For the frame, I used the Stylish Shapes Dies to create a Night of Navy frame that would fit the Misty Moonlight circle and I attached it with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals that I cut in half so that they wouldn't show. The sentiment has been heat embossed with Silver embossing powder to coordinate with the anchor image and I added Silver Pearls to embellish the label. To add some texture to the design, I wrapped a piece of Linen Thread around the bottom of the designer series paper card front twice and tied a knot on the right hand side before attaching it to the card base. I added the sentiment label with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals over the Linen Thread, centering it on the card front. I also added a piece of Linen Thread through the hole at the top of the anchor and tied a knot before attaching the image to the card front, centering it above the sentiment. This design is perfect for masculine cards and instead of making a Father's Day card like I did, you could change the sentiment to make it a birthday, graduation or even retirement card.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my nautical themed card design will help inspire you to explore mixing and matching products in the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog to create your own beautiful card designs. New At SU April Blog Hop CASEing The Mini Catalog Beside Me

Welcome to the New At SU April Blog Hop as we CASE the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. Our wonderful Design Team members will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to explore the wonderful samples in the catalog. What does CASE stand for? Copy And Selectively Edit or Copy And Share Everything, and it's a wonderful way to find inspiration.
When I saw this card sample in the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog, I was drawn to the layout and the arrangement of circles to create the design. I decided to CASE this card using the Beside Me stamp set, which I am happy to say, will be carrying over to the new Annual Catalog next month. To create the background, I used the Picture This Dies to create the openings in the background and the Stylish Shapes Dies for the additional circles. I simplified the color combination and added texture to step up the design which helped make the focal image pop.

Basic White Cardstock
Large Circle die cut with the Layering Circles Dies
Coastal Cabana Cardstock
Assorted circles die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies
For my card design, I wanted to create a masculine card that combined the layout from the sample card with colors that reflected being near water such as the beach to coordinate with the focal image. I chose Misty Moonlight (a Sneak Peek at a Returning Color), So Saffron (soon to retire), Coastal Cabana and Crumb Cake. For the texture, I used the Cascading Ruffles 3D Embossing Folder to create the feeling of water for the Misty Moonlight layer and I embossed the So Saffron background layer using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder to create the look of sand. To bring out the texture a little more, I used a Sponge Dauber to apply So Saffron Classic ink to the embossed areas of the So Saffron cardstock. For the focal image, I stamped it onto a Basic White large circle using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with a variety of Stampin' Blends Markers. The sentiment label was die cut from Crumb Cake cardstock using the Stylish Labels Dies and I stamped the sentiment with Early Espresso Classic ink. The medium and small circles were die cut from Coastal Cabana cardstock with the Stylish Shapes Dies to add contrast to the design.
To assemble the card, I attached the Misty Moonlight layer to the embossed So Saffron layer, allowing it to show through the circle windows. I added the Coastal Cabana circles to the Misty Moonlight layer and trimmed the excess edges with Paper Snips. Using Stampin' Dimensionals, I attached the large focal circle to the card front and added the sentiment label so that it tucked underneath the right side of the focal circle. I attached the completed card front to the Crumb Cake card base and added several Rustic Metallic Dots to embellish the card. I love how this card design turned out and how I was able to CASE the catalog sample to help me create it.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to try CASEing the samples in the catalogs to create your own beautiful projects. It is a wonderful way to jump start your creativity.

Stamping With Friends Masculine Cards Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stamping With Friends Masculine Card Blog Hop as we showcase projects to help inspire you to get creative for the men in your life. I often hear people say that they struggle to create masculine cards and don't know where to start. So take a trip along our blog hop and visit with our Design Team members as they share their ideas and projects to help spark your creativity.
One of the best suites in the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog for creating masculine cards, would have to be the He's The Man Suite Collection, found on pages 78-79. The products in this suite are perfectly coordinated to take all the stress out of creating projects for the men in your life. I love the variety of themes in this suite and it gives you so many options for creating cards for the Father's Day, birthday, retirement and so much more. I decided to create this simple fun fold to showcase the wonderful images and dies from the He's All That Bundle and the amazing He's The Man Designer Series Paper makes a wonderful background.
Products Used:
He's The Man Suite Collection (item #159083) New
- He's All That Bundle (item #159079)
- He's The Man Designer Series Paper (item #159068)
Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots (item #159082)
Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder (item #154317)
Early Espresso Cardstock (item #119686)
Cajun Craze Cardstock (item #119684)
Sahara Sand Cardstock (item #121043)
Gold Foil Sheets (item #132622)
Early Espresso Classic Ink Pad (item #147114)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Metallics Embossing Powders (item #155555)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Early Espresso Cardstock
Card Base - 5 1/2" x 4"
Card Flap Base - 2 1/2" x 10 1/2" (Scored at 5 1/4")
Sentiment Label die cut with the All That Dies
2 Detailed accents die cut with the All That Dies
He's The Man Designer Series Paper
Card Background - 5 1/4" x 4"
Cajun Craze Cardstock
Flap Front Layer - 2 1/4" x 5" Embossed with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder
Sahara Sand Cardstock
Inside Flap Layer - 2 1/4" x 5"
Gold Foil
Scalloped Circle die cut with the All That Dies
I love creating bold masculine cards with clean and simple designs. This suite makes it so easy to plan out and put together a wonderful card design without a lot of fuss. The colors I chose are from the designer series paper and include Early Espresso, Cajun Craze and Sahara Sand and I added Gold accents to step up the design. The flap is easy to create and I used the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder to add texture to the front layer without clashing with the background stripes of the designer series paper. I heat embossed the sentiment with Gold embossing powder onto a label die cut with the All That Dies and I embellished it with the Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots to add some subtle bling. The Gold Foil scalloped circle coordinates with the embossing and adds a touch of classic elegance to the design. The detailed die cuts help finish off the design and the Early Espresso cardstock pops against the embossed Cajun Craze background. On the inside of the flap, I stamped the Father's Day sentiment with Early Espresso Classic ink onto the Sahara Sand cardstock layer. I think it makes a wonderful alternative to Basic White or Very Vanilla.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to explore the wonderful products that Stampin' Up! has to offer to help you create your own beautiful projects. Make sure to check out the amazing suites in the catalog as they make life so much easier with their coordinating products.

We Create June Blog Hop Relationship Celebrations

Welcome to the We Create June Blog Hop as we showcase the theme of Relationship Celebrations. This can include events like weddings, anniversaries, the birth of a new baby or any other event that you might be celebrating. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as they share their wonderful ideas and projects to help inspire you.
Father's Day is one of those special days when we celebrate the men in our lives who have made a difference. Our father's help shape our lives every day and on this special day we have the opportunity to say thank you and recognize them. When sending Father's Day cards, we also think of the other male members of our family who are fathers such as brothers, uncles, grandfathers, father-in-law, son etc. By sending a card to them we let them know that we appreciate them and all they do for their families. So my card today is a simple fun fold design featuring the Soaring Confidently stamp set, which is retiring from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, combined with the Scalloped Contours Dies. I love the vintage images in this stamp set and the sentiments are perfect for creating masculine cards. For this card, I chose to use Misty Moonlight, Soft Succulent and Basic White.
Products Used:
Soar Confidently stamp set (item #154531) Retiring
Scalloped Contours Dies (item #155560)
2021-2023 In Colors 6"x6" Designer Series Paper
Misty Moonlight Cardstock (item #153081)
Soft Succulent Cardstock (item #155776)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Misty Moonlight Classic Ink Pad (item #153118)
Soft Succulent 3/8' Open Weave Ribbon (item #155780)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Misty Moonlight Cardstock
Card Base - 4 1/4" x 8 1/4"
Card Layer - 4 1/4" x 2 3/4"
Soft Succulent Cardstock
Inside Layer - 4" x 5 1/4"
Basic White Cardstock
Inside Layer die cut with Scalloped Contours Dies
Front Layer die cut with Scalloped Contours Dies
Soft Succulent Designer Series Paper
4" x 2 1/2"
For this card design, I CASEd the fun fold card I created here. This time I chose colors that had a more masculine feel and the pattern of the designer series paper worked well with the plane image. This time I added a layer of Soft Succulent cardstock to the inside of the card to add contrast to the background and added the scalloped rectangle layer to the center. For the front, I lined up the front panel so that it layered in the center of the scalloped layer inside the card to provide a frame for the focal image. I wanted to keep the design simple, so I the only embellishment I added was a piece of Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon that I tied in a know around the left side of the front focal layer. I stamped the vintage plane image and sentiment with Misty Moonlight Classic ink to coordinate with the card base. I really love this simple fun fold for creating cards to celebrate special occasions and it works well for both masculine and feminine card designs.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to create your own projects to celebrate the people in your life.  The products in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog are retiring and are available while supplies last or until June 30th. We Create May Blog Hop Technique Toss Up

Welcome to the We Create May Blog Hop as we showcase fun techniques for you to try when creating your projects. You will be visiting with wonderful Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as the share their ideas and projects to help inspire you.
For my technique, I chose coloring with Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen as a great way to add soft color to a design without the stress of regular water coloring. With Father's Day coming up in June, I thought it was a great opportunity to show how to create a clean and simple masculine card design. I chose to use the stamp set, A Good Man (item #149270) and I combined it with the Stitched Rectangles Dies (item #151820) to create the frame for the design. This technique is great for beginner stampers as well as more experienced crafters and is a fun and relaxing technique.
Products Used:
A Good Man stamp set (item #149270)
Stitched Rectangles Dies (item #151820)
Watercolor Pencils (item #141709)
Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 (item #149014)
Blender Pens (item #102845)
Misty Moonlight Cardstock (item #153081)
Soft Suede Cardstock (item #115318)
Very Vanilla Cardstock (item #101650)
Early Espresso Classic Ink Pad (item #147114)
Linen Thread (item #104199)
Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (item #144108)
Measurements:
Misty Moonlight Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Soft Suede Cardstock
Stitched Rectangle die cut with Stitched Rectangles Dies to create frame (using the 2nd & 4th largest dies)
Very Vanilla Cardstock
Stitched Rectangle die cut with Stitched Rectangles Dies using the 2nd largest die
This fun watercolor technique is one that I learned when I first started stamping with Stampin' Up! over 12 years ago. I love the simplicity of this technique and how it makes watercoloring less intimidating. I used the Early Espresso Classic ink to stamp both the image and the sentiment onto the Very Vanilla cardstock rectangle, using the Soft Suede cardstock frame to help with placement. I let the ink dry for a few minutes before coloring the image with watercolor pencils. I chose to use Old Olive, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay, Flirty Flamingo, Crushed Curry and Basic Gray from the two sets of Watercolor Pencils that Stampin' Up! has to offer. Using one of the Blender Pens, I gently colored over the watercolor pencil areas, one color at a time, blending the color to soften and remove the pencil marks. I made sure not color too close the stamped lines to make sure that the Early Espresso Classic ink didn't bleed into the colored area. Because the Blender Pens help control the amount of moisture you add to the colored area, it helps to smooth out the color without damaging the cardstock and causing it to pill. A light touch is best and you don't want to over work it. I find that this technique works well with this sketch style of stamp set. For the frame, I attached it to the Very Vanilla cardstock rectangle using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up and I added some Linen Thread around the bottom to add some texture to the design. The combination of Misty Moonlight and Soft Suede is great for masculine cards and I love that the Very Vanilla cardstock adds warmth to the background of the design.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to explore creating projects with fun techniques. Watercolor Pencils are a wonderful way to add color to your projects without adding stress.
