Stamping Inkspirations May Blog Hop Sketch Challenge

Welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations May Blog Hop and this month we have a Sketch Challenge to share with you. Our talented Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas using the sketch below to help inspire you to get creative.
I love creating clean and simple card designs, so this card sketch fits well with my style of card making. For the background, I chose one of the designs from the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper and used the Scalloped Contours Dies to create the layers for the focal image. I love how Navy and White look together and how the Night of Navy cardstock helps make the card design pop. Heat embossing is one of my favorite techniques, so I used it to emboss the leaf image from the Nature's Prints stamp set and the sentiment from the Celebrating You stamp set. I chose to create a Thank You card but you could use this design for a variety of occasions.
Products Used:
Nature's Prints stamp set (item #158793) New
Celebrating You stamp set (item #158028)
Scalloped Contours Dies (item #155560)
Stylish Shapes Dies (item #159183) New
Heart & Home Designer Series Paper (item #157928)
Night of Navy Cardstock (item #100867)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Basics Embossing Powders (item #155554)
Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (item #144108)
Measurements:
Night of Navy Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Medium & Small Scalloped rectangles die cut with the Scalloped Contours Dies
Sentiment Label die cut with Stylish Shapes Dies
Basic White Cardstock
Rectangle Layer - 3 3/16" x 1 7/8"
Heart & Home Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
This clean and simple card design is all about the layers. The combination of Night of Navy and Basic White cardstock adds a simply Wow factor to this design with the multiple layers. I just love the beautiful design in the designer series paper for the background and the texture it adds to the card front. The White embossing for the focal image and sentiment tie in with the color combination to finish off the design. I used Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up the sentiment and the middle layer of the focal image to add dimension to the design.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to create your own beautiful cards using this sketch. Sketches are a great way to spark your creativity by providing you with a road map to help you get started.

Around The World On Wednesday May Blog Hop Sketch 101

Welcome to the Around The World On Wednesday May Blog Hop and this month we have a Sketch Challenge. Our Design Team members will be sharing their projects and ideas using the sketch below to help inspire you. Sketches are a wonderful way to spark creativity and help you step outside your comfort zone.
For my card design, I chose to use products from the Heart & Home Suite in the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog. For the overlapping layers, I chose to use the scalloped rectangle die from the Scalloped Contours Dies and the designer series paper layer was die cut with the Stitched Rectangles Dies. Both of these dies are almost the same size, which made them perfect to replicate the sketch design. The floral stamp image is from the Blessings of Home stamp set and coordinates with the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper layer I chose for this card. I love how this card turned out using this sketch to create this clean and simple design.
Products Used:
Blessings Of Home stamp set (item #157930)
Happiness Abounds stamp set (item #159238) New
Stitched Rectangles Dies (item #151820)
Scalloped Contours Dies (item #155560)
Stylish Shapes Dies (item #159183) New
Heart & Home Designer Series Paper (item #157928)
Pale Papaya Cardstock (item #155668)
Smoky Slate Cardstock (item #131202)
Smoky Slate Classic Ink Pad (item #147113)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Basics Embossing Powders (item #155554)
Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels (item #151193)
Baker's Twine Essentials Pack (item #155475)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Smoky Slate Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Pale Papaya cardstock
Scalloped Rectangle layer die cut with Scalloped Contours Dies
Heart & Home Designer Series Paper
Stitched Rectangle die cut with the Stitched Rectangles Dies
This pretty card design had me stepping outside my comfort zone using colors and a layout I had not tried before. I chose the colors from the designer series paper and I will admit, it is not a color combination I have used before. I heat embossed the floral image with White embossing powder to decorate the Pale Papaya layer and I created the sentiment label with one of the dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies and heat embossed the image with White embossing powder to coordinate. I used White Baker's Twine to embellish the Pale Papaya layer and then added the layer to the designer series paper layer with adhesive. I stamped the floral image with Smoky Slate Classic ink on the top right and bottom left corners of the Smoky Slate card base and then added the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. To add a touch of bling, I added Champagne Rhinestones to the centers of the embossed flowers and the sentiment label to finish up the design.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to explore using sketches to create your own beautiful card designs. They are a wonderful way to spark your creativity and work for all occasions.

Around The World On Wednesday April Blog Hop At The Market

Welcome to the Around The World On Wednesday April Blog Hop and this month our theme is "At the Market".  We have been challenged to find a photo of a market and use it as inspiration for our project. You will be visiting with our talented team members as they share their ideas and projects to help inspire you.
For my card design, I chose this photo taken at a marketplace in Instanbul, Turkey (shown above), as my inspiration. The focal image shows a coat with clean and simple lines with a wonderful pattern in blue and white. I was immediately reminded of one of the designs in the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper, and it became the basis for my card design. Instead of the bright yellow of the scarf, I chose to use Gold Foil and Gold embossing to embellish my card design.
Products Used:
Blessings of Home Bundle (item #157939)
Tasteful Labels Dies (item #152886) Retiring
Heart & Home Designer Series Paper (item #157928)
Misty Moonlight Cardstock (item #153081) Retiring
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Gold Foil Sheets (item #132622)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Metallics Embossing Powders (item #155555)
Gilded Gems (#152478)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Misty Moonlight Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Scalloped Circle die cut with the Tasteful Labels Dies
Heart & Home Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
Basic White Cardstock
Sentiment Label die cut with Tasteful Labels Dies
Gold Foil Sheets
Detailed foliage die cut with the Flowers of Home Dies
I love how the designer series paper creates a similar flow with the curved detail of the design. While the Misty Moonlight I chose isn't the same blue as the coat design, I liked the way it created a similar feeling. The Gold Foil die cuts reminded me of the floral elements in the coat and along with the Gold embossing, provides a pop of color similar to the yellow scarf. I kept the details to a minimum to mimic the clean and simple lines of the coat. This card design would also work well as a masculine card design for a variety of occasions. I love how this card turned out and how it was inspired by finding a connection between a design on a coat and a pattern of a piece of designer series paper.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to look at the world around you for inspiration to help you create your own beautiful projects.

New At SU March Blog Hop CASE the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog

Welcome to the New at SU March Blog Hop as we CASE the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog using products from the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog. What is CASE? It stands for Copy And Share Everything and is simply a way to help spark your creativity by using a project to help provide you with a map to create your own beautiful creations. Whether you choose to copy the design exactly or use the layout, the colors, the stamp set or any combination, it is a great starting point to help you get creative.
For my card design, I chose to CASE the above card design from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, which can be found on page 51. This card design uses the Layering Diorama Dies with the Sailing Home stamp set and coordinating Smooth Sailing Dies. For my card, I have chosen to use products from the New Horizons Suite from the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog with the Layering Diorama Dies.
For my card design, I decided to switch it from portrait to landscape and instead of an ocean theme, I chose to showcase the mountains. For the background, I used one of the woodgrain designs from the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper. The Layering Diorama Dies worked perfectly for the opening and I created two layers using the 3rd and 4th largest dies. I love the texture and layers of this design and I think it would work well for a variety of occasions.

On the Horizon Bundle (item #157779)
New Horizons 6"x6" Designer Series Paper (item #157768)

Misty Moonlight Classic Ink Pad (item #153118)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Metallics Embossing Powders (item #155555)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (item #144108)
Measurements:
Basic Gray Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Rich Razzleberry Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5 1/4" x 4"
Heart & Home Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
New Horizons Designer Series Paper
Background Layer - 3 3/4" x 4 3/4"
Misty Moonlight Cardstock
2 sets of mountains die cut with the Horizon Dies
Basic White Cardstock
1 set of mountain detail (Snow) die cut with the Horizon Dies
Sentiment Tag punched with the Tailored Tag Punch
Garden Green Cardstock
1 set of grass die cut with the Horizons Dies
Pear Pizzazz Cardstock
2 sets of grass die cut with the Horizons Dies
Just like the original card design from the Annual Catalog, I chose to use the Layering Diorama Dies to create the opening for my card design. I liked the way it looked like a window to a scene outside. For my design, I chose to use the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper for my main background design and I layered it with a piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock. I chose to use two different sizes of the dies to create a framed look for scene inside. I used a piece of the New Horizons Designer Series Paper to create the background scene and attached it to the center of the Basic Gray card base. I added one of Misty Moonlight mountain die cuts to the designer series paper, lining it up along the center of the design. I attached the layered card front over the top of the background using Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up and give it dimension. I layered the snow die cut layer over the second Misty Moonlight mountain die cut and added it to the card front with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals so that it goes across the opening and slightly offset from the background die cut. I attached the Garden Green grass and one of the Pear Pizzazz grass to the inside of the bottom of the frame to create the foreground of the scene. I punched out a tag using the Tailored Tag Punch from Basic White cardstock and stamped the woodgrain image with Misty Moonlight Classic ink(stamping off once) several times to create the background design on the tag. I heat embossed the sentiment with Silver Embossing Powder and sponged the edges with Misty Moonlight Classic ink using a Sponge Dauber. I attached the {ear Pizzazz grass to the left side of the card front, towards the bottom and then added the sentiment to the bottom of the card front so that it overlaps the opening, using Stampin' Dimensionals. To embellish the card, I added several of the Pebbles Enamel Shapes on either side of the sentiment tag to complete the design. This card design reminds me of the view of the Rocky Mountains that I see each day and I love the softness of the background created by the designer series paper.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to try CASEing to create your own beautiful card designs. Whether you decide to copy the design exactly or use it as a blue print for your own wonderful design, it is a great way to open new doors to your creativity.
