Stamping With Friends June Blog Hop Birthday Sketch Challenge

Welcome to the Stamping with Friends June Blog Hop Sketch Challenge as we showcase Birthday cards to help inspire you. Sketches are a wonderful way to help spark your creativity and provide you with a road map to help you with your design layout. Each of us have chosen our own sketch for this challenge to create a birthday card design. I hope you enjoy the projects we have to share.
The sketch I have chosen for today is one created by fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Dawn Griffith. She has a wonderful gallery of sketches here. I decided to use the retiring Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper with the retiring Happy Thoughts stamp set, to create my card design. Both of these products are from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog and are available until June 30th or while supplies last. As you can see, I made changes to the sketch to come up with the finished design. The great thing about sketches is that it provides you with a basic road map and you can alter and change different elements to create your own version.
Products Used:

Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper (item #154558) Retiring

Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Flirty Flamingo Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Panel - 2 3/4" X 4"
Petal Pink Cardstock
Card Front Layer - 5 1/4" x 4" Embossed with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder
Merry Merlot Cardstock
Matte Layer - 2 3/4" x 4 1/4"
Scalloped Circle die cut with Layering Circles Dies
Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper
Focal Panel - 2 1/2" x 4"
Basic White Cardstock
Oval Circle die cut with Layering Circles Dies
White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon
3 Pieces - approx. 4 1/2" each
For this card design, I chose the colors from the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper. I wanted to add some texture to the background layer so I embossed it with the Textured Paint 3D Embossing Folder. Instead of using strips of cardstock, I decided to use the Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and layered them on the Flirty Flamingo cardstock before adhering it to the background layer. For the focal layer, I liked the way the Merry Merlot cardstock made the designer series paper pop and it added a nice contrast to the card design. I added it onto the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals over the Flirty Flaming layer. To complete the card design, I heat embossed the sentiment onto the Basic White circle with Gold embossing powder and attached it to the Merry Merlot scalloped circle. I attached it to the bottom left corner of the card front.
Creating this card design was so much fun and I loved that the sketch took all the guess work out of designing the layout of my card. This sketch can work with a variety of products to create designs for all occasions. The Happy Thoughts stamp set has wonderful sentiments for a variety of occasions and I love the fonts in this set. When you combine it with the beautiful designs in the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper, you have the opportunity to create so many wonderful cards to send to friends and family.

Around The World On Wednesday May Blog Hop Fancy Folds

Welcome to the Around the World On Wednesday May Blog Hop as we showcase Fancy Fold card designs. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as we share our ideas and projects to help inspire you.
Today I am showcasing a Gate Fold card with a difference. I found this version on You Tube, shared by fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Connie Stewart. The measurements for this Gate Fold gives it an asymmetrical look. I used the Art Gallery Bundle (item #156227) with the coordinating Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper (item #154558) from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog to create this bold design. I love this beautiful combination of Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive and Basic White with just a touch of Gold embossing to step up the design.
Products Used:
Art Gallery Bundle (item #156227)
Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper (item #154558)
Stitched So Sweetly Dies (item #151690)
Stitched Rectangles Dies (item #151820)
Poppy Parade Cardstock (item #119793)
Flirty Flamingo Cardstock (item #141416)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Poppy Parade Classic Ink Pad (item #147050)
Flirty Flamingo Classic Ink Pad (item #147052)
Old Olive Classic Ink Pad (item #147090)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Metallic Embossing Powder (Copper, Gold, Silver - item #155555)
Basic Rhinestone Jewels (item #144220)
White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon (item #151326)
Measurements:
Poppy Parade Cardstock
Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (Scored at 2 1/2" & 6 3/4")
Layer 1 - 2 3/4" x 3 7/8"
Basic White Cardstock
Scrap for flower image stamped and die cut with
the Art Gallery Bundle
Focal Panel - die cut with Stitched So Sweetly Dies
Inside Panel - 5 1/4" x 4"
Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper
Front Panels - 2 1/4" x 5 1/4" & 1 1/2" x 5 1/4"
Inside Strip - 1/4" x 5 1/4"
Flirty Flamingo Cardstock
Sentiment Label - die cut with Stitched Rectangles Dies
The bold colors in the designer series paper really bring this card to life and I used these colors to choose the coordinating cardstock to create the design. The Poppy Parade card base makes the designer series paper panels pop and I used Old Olive to stamp the stem of the flower onto the Basic White focal panel to coordinate with the background pattern. To create the flower, I stamped the base image with Flirty Flamingo Classic ink and the second layer with Poppy Parade Classic ink to add depth and contrast. I die cut the flower and added it to the focal panel with Stampin' Dimensionals. Using Clear Wink of Stella, I added some shimmer to the flower image. I embossed the sentiment with Gold embossing powder and added the Flirty Flamingo label to the bottom of the focal panel with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. For a touch of bling, I added Basic Rhinestones to the sentiment label and I added a small white bow to the stem of the flower with a Mini Glue Dot. To add the focal panel to the card front, I centered the panel and added glue to the left side of the back of the panel and attached it to the left flap of the card front. This way the card can still open and close. For the inside panel, I added the small strip of designer series paper along the bottom of the Basic White cardstock layer to dress it up.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to try creating your own fancy fold card and explore the wonderful possibilities out there.

3D Paper Trimmer April Blog Hop Mother's Day

Welcome to the 3D Paper Trimmer April Blog Hop as we celebrate Mother's Day. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as they share their amazing projects to help inspire you.
Today I am sharing a simple fun fold that is easy to create with Stampin' Up!'s Paper Trimmer (item #152392). The Book Binder Fold is a great way to showcase pretty paper and today I chose to use the beautiful Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper (item #154558) to decorate my card and I used the Strong & Beautiful stamp set for the wonderful sentiments.
Products Used:
Strong & Beautiful stamp set (item #148732) - Retiring
Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper (item #154558)
Tasteful Labels Dies (item #152886)
Merry Merlot Cardstock (item #146979)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154890)
Gold 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon (item #144146) - Retiring
Gold Glitter Enamel Dots (item #152155) - Retiring
Tear & Tape Adhesive (item #138995)
Measurements:
Merry Merlot Cardstock
Card Base - 4 1/4" x 11" (Scored at 4 1/4" and 5 1/2')
Sentiment Label die cut with Tasteful Labels Dies
Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper
Front Panel - 4" x 4"
Spine Panel - 1" x 4"
Basic White Cardstock
Inside Panel - 4" x 4"
This card is very simple to assemble and your Paper Trimmer does all the hard work for you. I used my trimmer to cut and score my card base as well as the designer series paper and the inside layer. For the ribbon, I used the Light Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends Marker to color two pieces. I used the longer piece to tie a knot around the top layer of the card base and then I used Tear & Tape Adhesive to stick down the book binding panel to the bottom of the card base. I used the second piece of the ribbon as an embellishment under the sentiment label. The pretty Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper is the star of this card design, and I love the beautiful colors and bold floral design. I wanted the sentiment label to compliment it and not over power it, so I embossed the label with Gold embossing powder to coordinate with the gold trim on the ribbon.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects to celebrate the special women in your life. There are so many wonderful possibilities to explore.
