Stamping With Friends Bloggers Choice August Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stamping With Friends Bloggers Choice Blog Hop as we share our fun, creative projects to help inspire you. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as they share a project of their choice.
Today I decided to share this cute Easel Birthday card that has a wonderful Fall feel to it. I just love the new Nuts About Squirrels stamp set from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog and I chose to combine it with one of the designs from the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. This adorable fun fold is simple to create using a standard card base but really does add a Wow factor to the card. It pops up to display the cute squirrel but lies flat to make it easy to mail in medium size envelope.

Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper
2 Strips - 1" x 4"
2 Pieces - 2" x 2 7/8"
This simple Easel card is easy to create and doesn't require a lot of extra pieces. You start with a standard card base and cut the front into three strips by cutting from the score line down to the bottom of the card at 1 1/4" and 4 1/4". The center panel is 3" wide and you score that panel at 2 1/8" and burnish the fold line so that it creates a mountain fold. I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment with Early Espresso Classic ink onto the Basic White layer and attached it to the inside of the card. Next, I attached the two side strips from the front of the card to the base of the card, lining them up with the outside edges of the card base. I attached the Early Espresso strips to the side panels of the card front and then added the two designer paper strips onto the Early Espresso cardstock strips. For the center panel, I attached the two designer series pieces above and below the score line. I heat embossed the sentiment onto the Early Espresso cardstock label with Gold embossing powder and attached it to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals. To create the focal image, I stamped the squirrel image with Early Espresso Classic ink onto a piece of Basic White cardstock and used the solid stamp images to color the squirrel. I fussy cut the image and attached it to the Swirled Circle with Stampin' Dimensionals. I attached the Swirled Circle to the bottom section of the center panel, making sure not to apply adhesive to the top of the circle. To complete the card design, I added two Gilded Gems to the sentiment label for a touch of bling.
