ICS April Blog Hop It's A Girl Thing

Welcome to the ICS April Blog Hop as we are challenged by our theme this month: It's A Girl Thing. Not only have we been challenged to create a feminine project design, but we are limited to using one color with accents of Basic Black, Whisper White or Very Vanilla allowed. I hope that our projects will help inspire you to try this challenge for your own creations.
To create my card design for this challenge, I chose to use Seaside Spray as my color and I used Whisper White Embossing Powder as my accent for my design. Using Seaside Spray cardstock for the card base, I added a layer of Seaside Spray cardstock that I heat embossed using the Breathtaking Bouquet cling stamp set (item #151612) from the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog. I used my Stamparatus to stamp the image onto my cardstock layer and stamped it twice. A happy little accident occurred when I stamped it the second time, when my cardstock shifted slightly between stamping and it created a slight ghosting of the design. When I heat embossed it, I noticed the mistake but decided to keep it as I liked the extra dimension it added to the background design. I used the Dark Seaside Spray Stampin' Blends Marker to color in the petals of the larger floral images to deepen the color of the images. I used a Sponge Dauber with the Seaside Spray Classic ink to sponge the edges of the embossed layer to help it stand out against the card base. For a touch of shimmer, I colored the flower petals with Clear Wink of Stella.
For the sentiment, I die cut a sentiment label and coordinating detailed layer from Seaside Spray cardstock using the Ornate Frames Dies (item #150664). I sponged the detailed die cut with Seaside Spray Classic ink with a Sponge Dauber to create contrast with the sentiment label. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Timeless Tulips stamp set (item #151534) using Whisper White Embossing Powder onto the sentiment label and attached it to the detailed die cut label with Snail Adhesive. I attached it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals. To add a touch of sparkle, I added Basic Rhinestones that I colored using the Dark Seaside Spray Stampin' Blends Marker to embellish the card front and sentiment label.
This elegant card design reminds me of the Wedgewood China from my childhood. I just love the vintage feel to this design and the romance of this beautiful floral stamp image. It works well as a lovely Mother's Day card but could also be used as a Birthday, Anniversary or Thinking of You card. You could easily replicate this design in any color and change the embossing to Gold or Silver for a completely different look. The possibilities are endless.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card design helps inspire you to explore the possibilities of using just one color with your projects.

Now it's time to visit Terri's blog and see what she has created this month. Please click on the Next button below to visit her blog. I hope that you enjoy our blog hop this month.
