Around The World On Wednesday April Blog Hop All Things Crafty

Welcome to our 1st Around The World On Wednesday Blog Hop as we explore all things crafty. This month we have been challenged to share our "Must Haves" for creating and incorporate it into our project. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from all over the world as they share their "Must Haves" to inspire you.
When I think of the "Must Haves" that I need to be creative, it comes down to color and embossing. I love color as a way to express myself creatively and you can achieve so much just by changing the colors you combine and the intensity of those colors. The colors that you use depending on the season, a special occasion, to show emotion whether it be happy or sad. As for embossing, whether it is heat embossing or using an embossing folder, I love being able to add texture and definition to my designs using these techniques. So from these "Must Haves" I came up with this card design.
For my color combination, I chose to use warm Spring colors including Petal Pink cardstock for the card base and the embossed layer and Whisper White cardstock for the scalloped rectangle panel that I die cut using one of the dies from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies (item #151690) from the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog. The embossed Petal Pink cardstock layer was created by inking up the inside of the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder (item #152725) using Petal Pink Classic ink and running the embossing folder through the Big Shot. I love the two tone look that this technique creates.
The floral image from the Ornate Style stamp set (item #152572) was stamped onto Whisper White cardstock with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. I fussy cut the image using Paper Snips and then colored the image using Stampin' Blends Markers. The colors I chose included Petal Pink, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffon, Mint Macaron, Soft Suede Light and Seaside Spray Light. I lightly sponged around the edges of the scalloped Whisper White cardstock layer with Seaside Spray Classic ink to create a soft background.
To assemble the card, I attached the embossed layer to the card base using Snail Adhesive and attached the scalloped layer with Stampin' Dimensionals, placing it in the center of the card front. For the floral image, I used Stampin' Dimensionals to attach it to the scallop layer. To finish off the design, I added Clear Wink of Stella to the floral image for a touch of shimmer. I decided not to add a sentiment to my design, preferring the simplicity of the design without it.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card design helped give you a little insight to my creativity and hopefully will help you to find your own "Must Haves" to inspire your creativity.
