GSF April Blog Hop Twisted

It's time to hop along with the GSF April Blog Hop and this month our theme is Twisted. We have been challenged to add a twist to our project to create something new and unexpected. I am excited to see what everyone creates this month.
For my twist for my card design, I decided to ink up the inside of the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder to color my cardstock when I embossed it. I love the two tone look it gives the embossed cardstock. The New Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder is part of the Early Release of the Ornate Garden Suite, which is now available for everyone to order. This suite will be in the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog and I love that Stampin' Up! has given us the opportunity to explore these wonderful new products early.
To create my card design, I started with a Thick Whisper White card base and I added a layer of 5 1/4"x 4" Seaside Spray cardstock to create the background layer for my design. I embossed a 5 1/4" x 2 3/4" piece of Seaside Spray cardstock, using Seaside Spray Classic ink to ink up the inside of the top layer of the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing folder, and carefully laying the cardstock on top of the inked layer, before running it through my Big Shot. When I removed the embossed cardstock it gave me this beautiful two tone design with the small flowers raised and un-inked while the background had been colored with the Seaside Spray Classic ink. I then cut this piece of cardstock at 1 3/4" x 5 1/4" which left me with a second piece measuring 1" x 5 1/4".
I layered these two pieces onto Whisper White cardstock pieces measuring 2"x 5 1/4" and 1 1/4" x 5 1/4" using Snail Adhesive. I then attached these pieces to the Seaside Spray cardstock layer, making sure to leave approx. 1/8" border on each end. I attached a piece of Whisper White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon (item #151326) around the center of the Seaside Spray cardstock opening between the two embossed layers, using Snail Adhesive on the back of the Seaside Spray cardstock layer. I tied a bow using the same ribbon and attached it to the card front on top of the ribbon with a Mini Glue Dot.

The sentiment was created by stamping the image from the Ornate Thanks stamp set (item #149471) using Seaside Spray Classic ink onto a thin strip of Whisper White cardstock approx. 1/4" wide. To create the rounded ends on the sentiment label, I used the Everyday Label Punch (item #144668) and slid the strip of cardstock into the punch so that it was centered inside the back window of the punch and punched it out. This is another twist that shows you can use your punches to create decorative edges for your thinner sentiment strips. To assemble, I attached the sentiment label to the lower embossed panel using Stampin' Dimensionals and then attached the Seaside Spray card front to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card design will inspire you to look at your supplies in a different way and come up with your own twist for creating projects. There are so many wonderful possibilities out there to explore.
