What's New At SU Summer Blog Hop

Welcome to the What's New at SU Summer Blog Hop as we share projects featuring products from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. You will be visiting with Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as they share their ideas for Summer to help inspire you.

When I think of Summer, I am drawn to the beautiful flowers that bloom in the garden and that was my inspiration for my card design today. I chose to use the new Floral Essence Bundle (item #151055) from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog and paired it with Grapefruit Grove, one of the beautiful 2018-2020 In Colors that I feel is a perfect Summer color. I started with a Grapefruit Grove cardstock card base and added a layer of Grapefruit Grove Gingham designer series paper from the 2018-2020 In Color 6"x6" Designer Series Paper Pack (item #149618). I think gingham is one of those traditional Summer patterns and I am so happy that Stampin' Up! has made it available in all of its beautiful colors for us to create with.
To create the focal layer, I die cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies and heat embossed the sentiment from the Floral Essence Photopolymer stamp set (item #149450) with Gold embossing powder.
For the floral element, I stamped the three petal flower image onto Whisper White cardstock twice and heat embossed them with Gold embossing powder. I then punched them out using the coordinating Perennial Flower Punch (item #149522). Did you know that when order both the punch and stamp set as a bundle you can save 10%?

Layering the flowers on top of each other I attached them together with Mini Glue Dots. I added a Gold Faceted Gem (item #144141) to the center of the flower. Next I stamped the leaf image twice with Pear Pizzazz Classic ink onto a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and punched the out using the Leaf Punch (item #144667). I attached the leaves to the label along the edges with Snail Adhesive.
To create the background behind the label, I attached a Pearlized Doily (item #146936) to the designer series paper layer and then attached the label with Stampin' Dimensionals to line up over the top of the doily. To complete the card design, I added the flower to the label using a Stampin' Dimensional, lining it up between the leaves.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my Summer card design helps inspire you to explore new colors and ideas to celebrate this wonderful season.
