Welcome to the ICS July Blog Hop and this month our theme is Punch Me Out. No, this isn't about boxing but rather we are showcasing Stampin' Up!'s Punches in our projects to help inspire you. You will be visiting with demonstrators from around the world as they share their fun projects to help provide you with a variety of ideas for your own creations.
If you have been following my blog this week, you may have noticed a pattern with my projects. What can I say, I just love the new Daisy Lane Bundle (item #151118) and how versatile the Daisy Lane Cling stamp set (item #149325) and coordinating Medium Daisy Punch (149517) are for creating projects. When you order both of these products as the bundle, you save 10% and I am all about saving money. For this card design, I chose to use a bright, cheerful color combination with Bermuda Bay, Pear Pizzazz, Pineapple Punch and Grapefruit Grove to celebrate Summer. I chose Crumb Cake cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Bermuda Bay cardstock that I stamped using the small daisy image with Bermuda Bay Classic ink to create a tone on tone background.
To create the focal panel, I used a 3 1/4" square piece of Crumb Cake cardstock to create a matte for the 3" square piece of Bermuda Bay Designer Series Paper from the Brights 6"x6" Designer Series Paper Pack (item #149613).
To create the daisy, I stamped two of the large daisy images with Grapefruit Grove Classic ink and two images of the medium daisy image with Pineapple Punch Classic ink. Next, I punched out the large daisy images using the Daisy Punch (143713) and the medium daisy images with the Medium Daisy Punch from the bundle. I layered the images and attached the medium Daisy to the larger daisy with a Stampin' Dimensional. Using the Leaf Punch, I punched out two sets of leaves from a scrap of Pear Pizzazz cardstock.
To assemble the focal image, I attached the leaves to the designer series paper with Snail Adhesive and attached the daisy in the center of the designer series paper square using a Stampin' Dimensional. For the center of the daisy, I added a Clear Faceted Gem (item #144142) for a touch of bling and added Clear Wink of Stella to the daisy petals for a little shimmer.
To finish off the card design, I added a piece of Whisper White 5/8" Flax Ribbon (item #148764) to the center of the Bermuda Bay cardstock layer and attached the focal panel on top with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up. The sentiment was created using the Itty Bitty Greetings Cling stamp set (item #151331), stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock using Bermuda Bay Classic ink. I then die cut the sentiment using one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies (item #149638) and attached it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today and I hope that my card design will help inspire you to try using punches for your projects to add texture and dimension to your creations. If you live in the U.S. and do not already have a demonstrator, please contact me and I would be happy to help you.
