Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop and this month we are sharing our alternative project ideas for the January Be Mine Valentine Paper Pumpkin Kit. This kit is so cute and full of amazing supplies to create 24 treat packages. This kit also coordinates with the wonderful Animal Expedition Suite in the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog to provide you with even more options.
For my alternative project ideas, I chose to use a different stamp set that offers you a variety of animal images to create adorable treat package options. My daughter is a Peer Tutor in high school and she loves to take treats to her students to celebrate the special holidays throughout the school year. Paper Pumpkin kits are a perfect option and we have chosen to use this month's kit with a little twist to create their treats.
We love all the images in the Hey Love stamp set (item #148644) in the 2019 Occasions Catalog and they work perfectly with the treat packages in this month's kit. I used most of the supplies in the kit to create the pouches and they are just the right size for a sweet treat for the kids.
For the sweet little Alligator, I stamped him with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and colored him in using the Stampin' Blend Markers. I fussy cut him out and attached him to a 2" Circle of Whisper White cardstock using the Stampin' Dimensionals in the kit. I layered the Whisper White circle onto a Lemon Lime Twist cardstock circle that I punched out using the 2 !/4" Circle Punch. The large scalloped circle was die cut from Granny Apple Green cardstock using a framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits dies (item #141705). I attached the focal image to the Pool Party Treat package from the kit using Stampin' Dimensionals. I just love the way the different shades of green pop against the Pool Party for a fun treat idea. The sentiment is from the exclusive stamp set included in the kit and I stamped it with the Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
For my second treat, I used the Melon Mambo package and this time I chose the cute little Skunk image. Once again, I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the image onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and I colored the image with Stampin' Blends Markers. I fussy cut the image and attached it to a 2" Circle with Stampin' Dimensionals. To add a pop of color, I punched out a Melon Mambo circle using the 2 1/4" circle and attached it to the Pool Party scalloped circle die cut from the kit. For the sentiment, I used the coordinating sentiment for the skunk from the Hey Love stamp set and stamped it onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and die cut it using the smallest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies (item #145372). I embellished it using one of the Melon Mambo hearts from the kit and added a touch of shimmer to the skunk using Clear Wink of Stella.
The Hey Love stamp set is a great way to increase the variety of images that you can choose to create for your treat packages with this kit. I know that the kids in my daughter's class are going to love their treats when we finish creating them all. This stamp set is so versatile and can be used not only for Valentine's Day but also for other occasions including birthdays, Get Well and thinking of you that are sure to make people smile when they receive them.
