Welcome to the What's New at SU Blog Hop and we are starting off 2019 by celebrating Sale-abration, one of Stampin' Up!'s most amazing promotions. Travel along our blog hop and visit demonstrators from around the world as they share their wonderful, creative ideas. You may have just visited Pat's blog or perhaps you are starting your journey with me. I hope that you will enjoy all the projects we have to share with you today.
For my card design today, I decided to feature the Beautiful By The Bay stamp set from the 2019 Sale-a-bration Catalog. You can earn this Level 1 stamp set for free with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration.
I just love water coloring and the images in this stamp set are perfect for this technique. I stamped the image with Stazon Jet Black ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock that I die cut using the 2nd largest die from the Rectangle Stitched Framelits (item # 148551) in the 2019 Occasions Catalog. I used the largest and 3rd largest dies from this set to create the frame from a piece of Soft Suede cardstock and embossed it using the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Embossing Folder (item #143708). I distressed the frame using a Sponge Dauber and Soft Suede Classic ink.
To water color the image, I used a variety of Classic ink pad colors and an aquapainter to color the image. The aquapainter makes it easy to apply color to different areas and control the flow of ink to provide a soft wash.
To complete the card, I used Snail Adhesive to build the card and added a sentiment from the stamp set that I heat embossed with Gold embossing powder onto a piece of Soft Suede cardstock. I die cut the sentiment with one of the Bunch of Banners Framelits dies from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog and distress the banner with Soft Suede Classic ink.
This card design would be perfect for a masculine birthday card. I hope that you will give this stamp set a try and explore all the wonderful possibilities it has to offer. Now it's time to visit Joyce's blog and see what she has to share with us. Just click the Next button to visit her blog or you can click the Previous button to visit Pat's blog.
