One of my favorite things about card making is that I can customize my cards to suit the person who is receiving it. There is nothing more frustrating for me than to go to a store to buy a card and not be able to find the card I want. By making my own cards, I also get to enjoy some Creative Therapy time to relax and unwind. Today's card design is a clean and simple card design that is fun and fresh. I just love this beautiful Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper (item #155222), which is a Level 1 Sale-a-bration Reward, that you can earn Free with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration. I paired it with the You Are Amazing stamp set (item #154534)from the new January-June 2021 Mini Catalog and my favorite Stitched So Sweetly Dies (item #151690).

Paper Blooms Designer Series Paper Layer - 5 1/4" x 4"

This card design is simple to create and easy to customize to suit a variety of occasions. I love that the Night of Navy cardstock makes the colors of the designer series paper pop. I heat embossed the sentiment from the You Are Amazing stamp set with White Embossing Powder onto the Night of Navy sentiment label and I colored the embossed words using Stampin' Blends Markers, Seaside Spray for the Happy and Rococo Rose for the Birthday, to coordinate with the designer series paper. I like that the Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon adds a softness to the card without overpowering it and the small Basic Rhinestones add a touch of bling to finish it off. I hope that the person who receives this card loves it as much as I loved creating it.

We Create January Blog Hop Crisp Creases

 

Happy New Year everyone. Welcome to the We Create January Blog Hop, our first for 2021. This month our theme is Crisp Creases as we showcase projects that show how you can score and fold paper to add texture or create movement. 

Fun Fold cards are a great way to take an ordinary card design and step it up a little. For today's card design, I chose to use the new You Are Amazing stamp set (item #154534) from the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog and I paired it with the Beautiful Flower & Field Designer Series Paper (item #155223) from the 2021 Sale-a-bration Catalog. Both of these new products will be available tor order beginning January 5th. I love the combination of Basic Black with the bright colors in the designer series paper and it is amazing what a difference two 1" strips of pretty paper can make to a card design.

Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo & Pool Party Cardstock - Punch one flower from each color with the Small Bloom Punch and emboss with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder

This clean and simple design is simple to assemble and is easy to duplicate to create a wide variety of designs. Starting with a standard card base, I scored the 8 1/2" side at 1 1/4" and 4 1/4" and burnished them with a Bone Folder to create a small flap on the front of the card and fold for the card front. I attached the embossed Just Jade cardstock layer to the front of card and added one of the designer series strips to the front flap. For the inside of the card, I attached the second designer series paper strip to the Whisper White cardstock layer, on the right side and then attached the layer inside the card. To create the sentiment label, I heat embossed the sentiment from the You Are Amazing stamp set onto the Whisper White die cut Label and attached it to the Silver Foil Label. Using Stampin' Dimensionals, I attached the sentiment label to the center of the small front flap, centering the label on the front of the card. Make sure that the Stampin' Dimensionals only attach to the small flap so that the card can open and close freely. To complete the sentiment label, add the three flowers using Stampin' Dimensionals and embellish with large Basic Rhinestone Jewels. To complete the card, I stamped the inside sentiment with Just Jade Classic Ink onto the Whisper White cardstock layer so that it is hidden behind the card front. This wonderful fun fold design folds flat to fit inside a standard size envelope and looks great standing up to display the wonderful design.
