Ink. Stamp. Share. November Monthly Blog Hop Christmas Tree Decorations

Welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share. November Monthly Blog Hop as we showcase ideas to help you decorate the Christmas Tree. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as they share their ideas and projects to help inspire you.
One of my favorite things to do at Christmas is to create unique Christmas ornaments using blank ceramic ornaments that I found at a craft store. For this ornament, I used the cute image and coordinating sentiments from the Have A Hoot stamp set (item #153389) from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog, to decorate the front and back of the ornament. I stamped the image and sentiments using Stazon Jet Black Ink and colored the images using Stampin' Blends Markers.
Products Used:
Have A Hoot stamp set (item #153389)
Flight Of Fancy stamp set (item #153410)
Stazon Jet Black Ink Pad (item #101406)
Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154885)
Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154882)
Cinnamon Cider Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #153105)
Real Red Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154899)
Seaside Spray Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #154901)
Mango Melody Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #146989)
Creating this ornament is simple but it is also something that should not be rushed. I used Stazon Jet Black ink to stamp the owls image first and then added the sentiment below it. Make sure to plan out your images on the ornament first to make sure they will fit before you actually stamp them. This will prevent mistakes and frustration. After stamping the front, I let it sit for a few minutes to dry before flipping the ornament over and stamping the back with the sentiment and the extra snowflakes from the Flight Of Fancy stamp set. Again, I let it sit for a few minutes to give the ink time to dry. To color the owls, I used Light Crumb Cake for the belly, and eye lids of the owls and Light Cinnamon Cider for the rest of the feathers. Apply the color with a gentle dabbing motion so that you have control over where the color goes on the ornament and it also helps to prevent bleeding by applying too much ink. It also helps to protect the tips of your Stampin' Blends Markers so they don't get damaged. The beak and claws were colored with Light Mango Melody. I used Light Granny Apple Green for the leaves and Dark Real Red for the berries. The branches were colored with Light Crumb Cake and the snow and snowflakes were colored with Light Seaside Spray. I love the vibrancy of the Stampin' Blends Markers for these ornaments.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my ornament will help inspire you to create your own fun projects to celebrate the holiday season. Just think of the variety of stamps that you can use to create your own unique ornaments.

GSF August Blog Hop Favorite Bundle

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends (GSF) August Blog Hop as we showcase our favorite bundles from the current Stampin' Up! catalogs. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as they share their ideas and projects to help inspire you.
It's so hard for me to pick a favorite bundle, but I must admit that I fell in love with the Have A Hoot Bundle (item #155208) from the new August-December 2020 Mini Catalog, the moment I laid eyes on it. The images are adorable and the sentiments are so cute, how can anyone resist. For today's design, I decided to create a Christmas card with this bundle and paired it with the new Winter Snow Embossing Folder (item #153577), which is part of the new Snowflake Splendor Suite in the new mini catalog.
I chose Balmy Blue cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Whisper White cardstock for the background, that I embossed using the new Winter Snow Embossing Folder, to add subtle texture. To create the main focal image, I die cut a circle from Whisper White cardstock using the Layering Circles Dies (item #151770). I stamped the owl couple image from the Have A Hoot stamp set (item #153389) onto the circle using Smoky Slate Classic ink to provide the background image and make it easier to line up the die cut images. On a scrap of Whisper White cardstock, I stamped the owl couple image a second time, but this time I used Early Espresso Classic ink. I colored the images using Light Crumb Cake and Light Cinnamon Cider Stampin' Blends Markers to color the owls and Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends Markers to color the leaves. For the background, I went over the snowflakes with the Light Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends Marker to help them stand out.
The next step was to die cut the owl couple and the mistletoe with the coordinating Peek A Hoot Dies (item #153573) and added them to the design with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. Using a slightly larger circle die, I die cut a Balmy Blue circle to layer behind the focal image. I attached the focal image to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Using the new Snowflake Splendor 1/4" Ribbon (item #153548), I tied a bow and added it to the top of the circle at the top of the mistletoe with a Mini Glue Dot. I colored three of the small Basic Pearls with the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends Marker and added them to the mistletoe for a pop of color.
To create the sentiment, I stamped the image with Balmy Blue Classic ink onto Whisper White cardstock and die cut it out with one of the small dies from the Layering Ovals Dies (item #151771). I layered it with a slightly larger oval die cut from Balmy Blue cardstock using the stamp dies. I attached the sentiment label to the card base with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. To embellish the sentiment, I die cut two of the leaves from Old Olive cardstock using the Peek A Hoot Dies and tucked them underneath the sentiment oval. I embellished them by coloring three more small Basic Pearls that I also colored with the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends Marker. I love the clean and simple feel of this card design. There are so many wonderful images in the Have A Hoot bundle and I can't wait to create more projects with it. Remember, when you order the bundle, you save 10%.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design inspires you to explore the wonderful bundles available from Stampin' Up! to create your own projects.

Ink. Stamp. Share. July Blog Hop Other Celebration

Welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share. July Blog Hop as we explore other celebrations besides birthdays. You will be visiting with Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as they share their projects to help inspire you.
For my celebration, I chose to focus on Halloween with the new Have A Hoot Bundle (item #155208) in the upcoming August-December 2020 Mini Catalog, which launches August 4th. I paired it with the Cobwebs 3D Embossing Folder (item #153578) that can also be found in the new catalog and I love the texture it adds to the background.
I chose Pumpkin Pie cardstock for my card base and added a layer of Basic Black cardstock that I embossed with the Cobwebs 3D Embossing Folder to create this wonderfully detailed background. It's hard to see in the photos, but I am already in love with this new embossing folder and can't wait to use it on more projects. Using the labels die from the Peek A Hoot Dies, I die cut the openings in the Basic Black card front to create windows for my images to "peek" through.

To create the background for the images, I used a layer of Whisper White cardstock the same size as the Basic Black cardstock layer and using a pencil, I traced a faint outline for each window onto the Whisper White layer. I then stamped the two larger owl images onto the Whisper White cardstock layer using Memento Tuxedo Black ink so that they lined up inside the two larger windows. I colored the branches using the Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Markers Combo and colored the background of all three windows with the Gorgeous Grape Watercolor Pencil from the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2 pack (item #149014). I used a Blender Pen to smooth out the pencil lines to create a soft watercolor look for the background. I also used the Crushed Curry Watercolor Pencil from the same set, to add a little light around the spider image and smoothed it out with the Blender Pen.
The owls were stamped a second time onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and I colored each of the images from the Have A Hoot stamp set (item #153389) using a variety of colors of Stampin' Blends Markers. I then die cut them using the coordinating dies from the Peek A Hoot Dies (item #153573). I attached the Whisper White layer behind the Basic Black layer so that the stamped backgrounds appeared through the windows. I then added the die cut images to the windows using Stampin' Dimensionals to pop them up.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image onto a scrap of Highland Heather cardstock with White Embossing Powder and colored the embossed sentiment with the Light Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Blends Marker to color it. I die cut the sentiment with one of the small oval dies from the Layering Ovals Dies and attached it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals in the bottom left corner. I attached the card front to the Pumpkin Pie card base to complete the design. This bundle was one of my "Must Haves" from the new catalog and I love that it covers a variety of seasons. When you order the stamp set and coordinating dies as a bundle, you save 10%.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that you enjoy my card design and it inspires you to create your own beautiful projects. Creating projects for the holidays can be so much fun and there are so many great options in the new August-December 2020 Mini Catalog to explore.
