New At SU February Blog Hop Something Fancy Bundle

Welcome to the New At SU February Blog Hop as we showcase the wonderful bundles in the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. There is such a wide variety of themes to choose from and our talented Design Team members will be sharing their ideas and projects to help inspire you.
The bundle I chose to showcase is the Something Fancy Bundle, which is a part of the Fancy Flora Suite Collection. I love the wonderful range of sentiments in the stamp set and the coordinating dies are perfect for die cutting labels to fit them. For my card design, I decided to pair it with the By The Bay 6"x6" Designer Series Paper and the Seaside Bay Dies to show the versatility of this bundle.
Products Used:

Seaweed die cut with the Seaside Bay Dies
By The Bay Designer Series Paper

This soft and pretty birthday card is simple to create and I love how the sentiment is the focal point for the design. The By The Bay Designer Series Paper creates a beautiful background and I added the detailed die cuts from the Seaside Bay Dies to help step up the card design. The Gold Satin Edge Ribbon adds an elegant touch to the card and I love how the Gold Metallic Specialty Paper adds some sparkle to the shells. The Something Fancy Dies layer beautifully to create the sentiment label and I love the font for the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Something Fancy stamp set. The colors I chose are from the designer series paper and they work beautifully together to create a pretty seaside scene. To finish off the card design, I added several Iridescent Pastel Gems to add some sparkle.

Stamping With Friends Emboss Resist Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop as we start off the New Year with a fun technique. This month we have been challenged to create a project using the Emboss Resist technique and I can't wait to see what my fellow Design Team members have to share with us this month. This is one of my favorite techniques and I can't wait to share my project with you.
For my card design, I chose to use the new Watercolor World stamp from the new January-April 2023 Mini Catalog to create my background. My emboss resist has a twist to it, as I stamped the image first with ink and then heat embossed the image with Clear embossing powder to create the resist as I sponged on the ink for the oceans. I love how it turned out and it makes a great masculine card for a variety of occasions.
Products Used:
Watercolor World stamp set (item #160708)
Something Fancy Bundle (item #160425)
Starry Sky Cardstock (item #159263)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Crumb Cake Classic Ink Pad (item #147116)
Old Olive Classic Ink Pad (item #147090)
Tahitian Tide Classic Ink Pad (item #159210)
Orchid Oasis Classic Ink Pad (item #159214)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Basics Embossing Powders (item #155554)
Metallics Embossing Powders (item #155555)
Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots (item #159082)
Stamparatus (item #146276)
Sponge Daubers (item #133773)
Blending Brushes (item #153611)
Mini Stampin' Dimensionals (item #144108)
Measurements:
Starry Sky Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Sentiment Label die cut with the Something Fancy Dies
Basic White Cardstock
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
To create the background for this card, I stamped the world image several times to create the emboss resist. I used the Stamparatus so that I could stamp the image multiple times in the same position, using different inks, to create the design. First, I stamped the image using Crumb Cake Classic ink and then I sponged some Old Olive Classic ink onto the lighter areas using a Sponge Dauber, to create more depth and dimension. Next, I stamped the image over the top of the existing Crumb Cake stamped image using Versamark ink and then heat embossed the image with Clear embossing powder. This creates a clear coating over the original stamped image so that it will resist the ink when I sponge the oceans. To create the oceans, I gently sponged some Old Olive ink around the edges of some of the continents to create some contrast. Next, I sponged the card front with Tahitian Tide Classic ink using a Blending Brush, building up layers of color over the embossed image. To finish off the background, I gently sponged some Orchid Oasis Classic ink around the edges of the card front and gently over the embossed area to deepen the color of the oceans. Using a tissue, I wiped the card front to remove the excess ink from the embossed image to make it pop. To create the sentiment, I used my new favorite bundle, Something Fancy, and stamped the sentiment with Versamark onto a scrap of Starry Sky cardstock and then heat embossed it with Gold embossing powder. I die cut the sentiment using the coordinating die from the Something Fancy Dies from the bundle, and attached it to the card front with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. To complete the card design, I added two small Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots to embellish the sentiment label. I love how the Starry Sky cardstock makes the card front pop and the Gold embossing for the sentiment just helps step up the design to the next level.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to give this fun technique a try and create your own beautiful projects. There are so many wonderful possibilities to explore.

Global Stamping Friends January Blog Hop Happy New Year

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends January Blog Hop as we celebrate the New Year. Our wonderful Design Team members are excited to share their projects and ideas with you to help inspire you to get creative in 2023. With the launch of the new January-April 2023 Mini Catalog and 2023 Sale-a-bration Catalog, there are so many wonderful possibilities to explore.
Today I thought I would share a pretty clean and simple birthday card created with the new Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper, which is a Level 1 Reward you can earn for free during Sale-a-bration with a qualifying $50 order. This particular design was cut from one of the sheets which has multiple designs that can be used to create a variety of products. I wanted it to be the focal image, so I chose to use the Something Fancy Bundle to create the sentiment so that it enhances the design rather than overpower it. I love the small coordinating die for this sentiment as it is perfect for these smaller sentiments and I struggle to cut straight lines to cut out small sentiments and have them look good. This die really does take the stress out of it for me and I am sure that I will be putting it to good use in the future.
Products Used:
Something Fancy Bundle (item #160425) New Mini product
Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper (item #160834) New Level 1 Sale-a-bration Reward
Fresh Freesia Cardstock (item #155613)
Rich Razzleberry Cardstock (item #115316)
Rich Razzleberry Classic Ink Pad (item #147091)
2021-2023 In Color Opal Rounds (item #159185)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Fresh Freesia Cardstock
Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Sentiment Label die cut with the Something Fancy Dies
Rich Razzleberry Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5" x 3 3/4"
Sentiment Matte Label die cut with the Something Fancy Dies
Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
This card design is all about the layers, with the Rich Razzleberry and Fresh Freesia cardstock providing a perfect frame for the designer series paper layer. I chose these two colors from the list of coordinating colors on the back of the designer series paper pack. This is a great feature that helps you pick colors that will work well with the designs in this paper pack and saves you so much time and stress trying to work it out yourself. For the sentiment, I stamped the Happy Birthday with Rich Razzleberry onto the Fresh Freesia cardstock label and then added it to the Rich Razzleberry Label, slightly offsetting it, to help it stand out against the floral background. The beauty of this smaller sentiment is that it doesn't cover up the pretty flowers and helps balance out the card design. For a touch of bling, I added several of the Fresh Freesia Opal Rounds and I love that look a little like rain drops. This pretty card design can be used for a variety of occasions, throughout the year.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my clean and simple card design will help inspire you to explore the wonderful new products in the new January-April 2023 Mini Catalog and 2023 Sale-a-bration Catalog, to create your own beautiful projects.

Remember, during Sale-a-bration, you can earn Free exclusive products with qualifying orders. Today I chose to use the beautiful Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper, which is a Level 1 Reward that you can earn free with a qualifying $50 order. The Something Fancy Bundle is a wonderful combination of sentiments and coordinating dies that works well with this beautiful paper as well as other products you may already own.

Note: The Dainty Flowers Designer Series Paper coordinates with the Dainty Delight Bundle (item #160675) on page 55 of the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. This bundle has a wonderful combination of both floral images and sentiments that would work well with this pretty paper.

We Create January Blog Hop Very Last Chance Plus Sneak Peeks

Welcome to the We Create January Blog Hop as we start off the New Year with the theme "Last Chance Plus Sneak Peeks". With just a few days left to take advantage of the great savings from the Last Chance July-December Mini Catalog Retirement List, we have decided to combine some of our retiring favorites with Sneak Peeks from the new catalogs that will launch January 5th. It's a great opportunity to see how you can combine something old with something new to spark your creativity.
To celebrate the start of 2023, I decided to create a beautiful Wedding card, combining retiring products from the Splendid Day Suite with the new Something Fancy Bundle that will be available beginning January 5th, in the new January-April 2023 Mini Catalog. I love the simple elegance of the lovely foil designs in the Splendid Day Specialty Designer Series Paper and I think it works beautifully with the fonts in the sentiment from the Something Fancy stamp set. I also feel like this sentiment applies to this time of year as we look forward to the New Year and all that it brings us.
Products Used:
Something Fancy Bundle (item #160425) Sneak Peek New Mini
Splendid Stems Dies (item #159676) Retiring
Splendid Day Specialty Designer Series Paper (item #159666) Retiring
Fresh Freesia Cardstock (item #155613)
Soft Sea Foam Cardstock (item #146988)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Basics Embossing Powders (item #155554)
Soft Sea Foam 3/8" Seam Binding Ribbon (item #159680) Retiring
Basic Rhinestone Jewels (item #144220)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Mini Glue Dots (item #103683)
Measurements:
Fresh Freesia Cardstock
Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Sentiment Label die cut with the Something Fancy Dies
Basic White Cardstock
Large Label die cut with the Something Fancy Dies
Splendid Day Specialty Designer Series Paper
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
This pretty clean and simple card is easy to create and works well for so many special occasions. I love that the sentiments in the Something Fancy stamp set cover so many of the cards that I create on a regular basis and the coordinating Something Fancy Dies means that I have the right sized dies available to die cut my sentiments without having to search through my stash. The Fresh Freesia foil paper is the star of the show for this card design and I accented it with detailed leaves die cuts from Soft Sea Foam cardstock to help step up the layout. The Soft Sea Foam Seam Binding Ribbon is so soft and is perfect for tying bows as well as an accent underneath the sentiment label. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image with White embossing powder onto the Fresh Freesia cardstock label and added it to a Basic White label to help it stand out. The Basic Rhinestones add that touch of bling without being too over the top. I hope that you will check out the retiring products from the Splendid Day Suite and take advantage of the great savings on several of the products I used today. They are available only while supplies last or until January 4th when this sale ends.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to explore the Last Chance Retirement List and take advantage of the great discounts on select products. Mixing and matching old and new products can help you get creative for all your upcoming occasions.
