I hope our projects will encourage you to explore this exclusive collection of products.
Lately I have been having so much fun creating projects with the beautiful One Horse Open Sleigh Suite Collection. I just love how these products coordinate to make it simple and stress free to create with. I love the beautiful One Horse Open Sleigh 6"x6" Designer Series Paper and how the pretty Winter scenes make perfect backgrounds for simply beautiful cards. For today's card design, I chose to use one of the beautiful designs to create a stepped up clean and simple card design, that showcases how these amazing products work together to create a wonderful Christmas card.

4 Snowbanks die cut with the Horse & Sleigh Dies

Tag die cut with the Tailored Tags Dies
The hardest part about creating with this wonderful suite of products, is choosing which design from the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper to use. For this card design, I chose the design that gives the feeling of a Winter sunrise/sunset with the warm glow in the sky in the background. I love using Vellum cardstock with this paper pack to minimize covering up the beautiful scenes and this time I chose to use an old favorite, Tailor Made Tags Dies, to create a simple tag for my sentiment. To step up the tag, I die cut 2 each of the snowbanks with the Horse & Sleigh Dies to create some dimension in the foreground of the card design. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Horse & Sleigh stamp set using Gold embossing powder, positioning the sentiment towards the top of the tag, to allow room of the snowbanks along the bottom. I attached two of the snowbanks to the reverse side of the vellum tag and the other two on the front of the tag, offsetting them so that it allowed the back layers to show through and create multiple layers. I attached the Misty Moonlight tree die cut to the right side of the card front, near the grass peeking through the snow. I attached the vellum tag to the card front so that it partially overlapped the tree and hid the adhesive behind the snowbanks so that it wouldn't show. To embellish the card, I added several white Snowflakes and added Iridescent Rhinestones to the centers of the snowflakes for a touch of sparkle. To help hold down the vellum tag, I also added a Mini Glue Dot behind each of the snowflakes to anchor it. I love how soft and pretty this card design turned out and even though I have used a Christmas sentiment for my card, you could also use this design for a variety of other occasions.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities July Blog Hop Fun In The Sun

Let's enjoy some Summer fun with the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities July Blog Hop. Our wonderful Design Team will be sharing their alternative projects and ideas using the Fun In The Sun Kit and I can't wait to see what everyone has created this month.
I was so excited to get this month's kit and I decided that I wanted to create my alternative design using one of the negative pieces to create a sunset beach scene. There is just something so relaxing and peaceful about watching the sun set over the ocean and I wanted to try and capture that with my card design. I chose to use the negative from the Umbrella foreground die cut and with some creative masking, I was able to achieve the look I wanted. Instead of using black for the silhouette look, I chose to use Pebbled Path Classic ink, one of my favorite new 2023-2025 In Colors. It provides a wonderful contrast against the ocean and sky, creating that feeling of being in the shadows.
Products Used:
Paper Pumpkin July 2023 Fun In The Sun Kit
Inked & Tiled stamp set (item #161158)
Oceanfront stamp set (item #157862)
Orchid Oasis Cardstock (item #159267)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Daffodil Delight Classic Ink Pad (item #147094)
Crushed Curry Classic Ink Pad (item #147087)
Calypso Coral Classic Ink Pad (item #147101)
Orchid Oasis Classic Ink Pad (item #159214)
Pebbled Path Classic Ink Pad (item #161648)
2023-2025 In Colors Stampin' Write Marker Assortment (item #161695)
2023-2025 In Color Dots (item #161620)
Blending Brushes (item #153611)
Measurements:
Orchid Oasis Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Basic White Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
For this card design, I wanted to keep things pretty simple, allowing the colors and images to tell the story. Using my trusty Post-It notes, I masked off a horizon on the card front and created the ocean with a Blending Brush using Orchid Oasis Classic ink. I just love this beautiful blue and I thought it was the perfect color for this time of the day. I then flipped the Post-It note and added a half circle to mask the sun, to create the sky. I started with Daffodil Delight Classic ink, adding layers of color with a Blending Brush and then switched to Calypso Coral Classic ink to deepen the color, blending from the top down to the horizon to create that beautiful sunset glow. Next, I removed the mask for the sun and replaced it with the reverse mask to add color to the sun, beginning with Daffodil Delight and then adding some Crushed Curry to deepen the color. I wanted to add some texture to the ocean, so I chose to use one of the texture images from the Inked & Tiled stamp set to give the appearance of gentle waves. I then went back over the ocean with Orchid Oasis Classic ink and the Blending Brush to soften the stamped waves so the lines weren't so harsh.
To create the silhouette, I positioned the negative with the umbrella in the position I wanted on my card front and masked off the rest with Post-It notes. I filled in the area with Pebbled Path Classic ink using a Blending Brush to create a solid shadow. I then repositioned the negative to create the beach foreground and again used Post-It notes for placement and masking. I filled in the area to create the beach once again using Pebbled Path Classic ink and a Blending Brush. To add some interest and detail to the beach, I used one of the foliage stamps from the Oceanfront stamp set to create seagrass and added the starfish from the exclusive stamp set in the kit to the base of the umbrella. For the sentiment, I stamped the image with Pebbled Path Classic ink and embellished it with two of the Pebbled Path In Color Dots. As I was finishing, I noticed that there was a spot of ink on my ocean that didn't belong, so I used the Pebbled Path Stampin' Write Marker to turn it into a sea gull and added several more to complete the design and advert near disaster. I layered the card front onto a Basic White cardstock layer and then onto the Orchid Oasis card base to create a slim border that helps make the focal design pop.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my alternative card design will help inspire you to think outside the box and help you create your own beautiful projects. Playing with ink, paper and stamps can be so relaxing and rewarding. I hope you will give it a try.

Snow Bank pieces die cut with the Horse & Sleigh Dies

Strip - 1 1/2" x 5"
The designs in the One Horse Open Sleigh 6'x6" Designer Series Paper are so beautiful that it is a shame to cover them up, so I decided to keep my card simple to allow the beauty of the scene to shine through. For the foreground, I die cut several snowbanks using the dies from the Horse & Sleigh Dies and layered them at the bottom of the designer series paper. To add a touch of shimmer, I used Clear Wink of Stella to highlight the snow banks to give the impression of sparkling snow. I stamped the rabbit onto Basic White cardstock using Early Espresso Classic ink, stamping it off once so that the image was softer and matched the colors of the trees and then die cut it out with the coordinating die. Using a Blender Pen, I gently blended the ink from the stamped image to give my rabbit some soft color. I layered the designer series paper card front layer onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock to help create a frame around the scene. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image using Gold embossing powder onto a piece of Vellum cardstock and attached it to the card front, wrapping the edges of the vellum cardstock around to the back and adhering in place. To help step up the design, I added a piece of Gold Trim around the bottom of the vellum cardstock layer and attached the ends to the back of the card front. I used a small piece of the Gold Trim to tie a knot on the right side and trimmed the ends. For a touch of bling, I added several of the Adhesive Backed Snowflakes to the card front and added a small Gold Pearl to the center of each snowflake to finish off the card design. To complete the card, I used Stampin' Dimensionals to add the card front to the card base to add some dimension. I love how pretty and peaceful this card design looks and I think it works well for so many occasions.

Stamptastic Friends July Blog Hop Color Challenge: New & Returning Colors

Welcome to the Stamptastic Friends July Blog Hop as we explore the new and returning colors recently added as part of Stampin' Up!'s recent Color Refresh. Our wonderful Design Team members will be sharing their projects and ideas to show you how to mix and match these beautiful colors to create your own unique projects.
For this card design, I chose to use Lost Lagoon, Pretty Peacock and Lemon Lime Twist to create a fun birthday card using the Patchwork Pieces Dies. I love the way these three colors look together and I thought the die cut background would work well with the Circle Sayings Bundle. For the Lemon Lime Twist and Lost Lagoon pieces, I used designs from the Bright & Beautiful 6"x6" Designer Series Paper to add some subtle texture to the background. This style of design is a great way to showcase different color combinations to create bold, beautiful cards.
Products Used:
Circle Sayings Bundle (item #161355)
Patchwork Pieces Dies (item #161592)
Bright & Beautiful 6"x6" Designer Series Paper (item #161449)
Pretty Peacock Cardstock (item #150880)
Lost Lagoon Cardstock (item #133679)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Memento Tuxedo Black Pad (item #132708)
Versamark Pad (item #102283)
Basics Embossing Powders (item #155554)
Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #161676)
Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #161682)
Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends Combo Pack (item #161674)
Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush (item #141897)
Ribbon Duo Combo Pack (item #161318)
Rhinestone Basic Jewels (item #144220)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Pretty Peacock Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
3 1/4" x 4 3/4" Piece die cut with the Patchwork Pieces Dies
Lost Lagoon Cardstock
Circle punched out with the 2 3/8" Circle Punch
Basic White Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5" x 3 1/2"
Background Base piece - 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" (Trimmed down after die cut pieces attached to 3 1/8" x 4 5/8")
Cup Cake stamped and fussy cut with Paper Snips
Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper
1 piece Lemon Lime Twist - 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" die cut with the Patchwork Pieces Dies
1 piece Lost Lagoon - 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" die cut with the Patchwork Pieces Dies
This fun card design is a great way to play with paper piecing. I die cut each of the three colors with the Patchwork Pieces Dies and then alternated the colors to create my final design. The great thing is that you have enough pieces to create three different backgrounds so you are actually getting three cards from one set of supplies. I used Tombow Liquid Glue to attach the pieces to a piece of Basic White cardstock that is slightly larger than the finished piece. Once I had all the pieces arranged on the cardstock, I trimmed it down to the finished 3 1/8" x 4 5/8" size with my Paper Trimmer. I added a piece of Lemon Lime Twist Ribbon around the center of the layer to add some texture. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the Celebrate image with White embossing powder onto a Lost Lagoon Circle that I punched out with the 2 3/8" Circle Punch. For the cupcake, I stamped the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the wrapper with Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blends Markers, the frosting with Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Blends Markers and the cake with the Light Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends Marker. I fussy cut the cupcake with Paper Snips and attached it to the center of the sentiment circle with Stampin' Dimensionals. I attached the sentiment circle to the center of the focal layer with Stampin' Dimensionals ahtne then adhered the focal layer to the Basic White layer. To complete the card, I attached the Basic White layer to the Pretty Peacock card base with Stampin' Dimensionals. For a touch of bling, I added several small Basic Rhinestone Jewels to the dots on the sentiment circle and colored the cupcake with Clear Wink of Stella for a touch of shimmer.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will inspire you to mix and match these wonderful colors to create your own beautiful projects. There are so many amazing options to choose from.

Stamping With Friends July Blog Hop Color Refresh

It's time to play with colors with the Stamping With Friends July Blog Hop, as we showcase the new and returning colors released during the recent Color Refresh. Our wonderful Design Team members will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to explore the beautiful new colors that Stampin' Up! has to offer.
So, you are probably wondering, what are the new colors? With the recent Color Refresh, Stampin' Up! chose to retire some of its Core Colors and replace them with some new colors as well as some colors that had previously been In Colors in the past. These colors include: Lemon Lime Twist, Azure Afternoon, Berry Burst, Misty Moonlight, Pecan Pie, Pretty Peacock, Blueberry Bushel, Lost Lagoon, Fresh Freesia and Bubble Bath. In addition, we also have five new In Colors for the 2023-2025 In Colors, that will be available for the next two years. These colors are Copper Clay, Wild Wheat, Boho Blue, Moody Mauve and Pebbled Path.
Today I decided to play the pink/purple tone colors, which are not usually my thing, but I thought would be fun to see how they work together. I chose Bubble Bath for the background stamping using the Artistically Inked stamp set and experimented with Berry Burst, Fresh Freesia and Moody Mauve for the balloons. I discovered that stamping off once with Moody Mauve Classic ink gave me a really pretty pink color that worked well with Fresh Freesia and Berry Burst. I wanted to keep my design fairly simple and let the colors be the star of the show. I love how it turned out and can't wait to try this layout with other colors to see what I can create.
Products Used:
Beautiful Balloons Bundle (item #1614570
Artistically Inked stamp set (item #1545420
Berry Burst Cardstock (item #144243)
Thick Basic White Cardstock (item #159229)
Basic White Cardstock (item #159276)
Berry Burst Classic Ink Pad (item #147143)
Bubble Bath Classic Ink Pad (item #161664)
Fresh Freesia Classic Ink Pad (item #1555613)
Moody Mauve Classic Ink Pad (item #161649)
Memento Tuxedo Black Pad (item #132708)
2023-2025 In Color Dots (item #161620)
Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Thick Basic White Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Berry Burst Cardstock
Layer 1 - 5" x 3 3/4"
Basic White Cardstock
Card Front - 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"
One I look at this card design, I think fresh and pretty. I love how the Bubble Bath background adds texture to this design. The Berry Burst really pops against the Fresh Freesia and Moody Mauve balloons and I tied in the matte layer with Berry Burst cardstock to create a frame for the focal design. I stamped the balloons onto Basic White cardstock using the medium and small balloons images and die cut them out with the coordinating dies. For the strings and the sentiments, I used Tuxedo Black ink to add contrast and added the balloons to the card front, popping up the medium Berry Burst balloon and small Fresh Freesia balloon using Stampin' Dimensionals. I added several Moody Mauve In Color Dots to the design for a touch of bling. This clean and simple card design is a wonderful way to experiment with different color combinations. I hope this birthday card will brighten someone's special day.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to experiment with the new and returning colors that have been added during the recent Color Refresh.
