ICS July Blog Hop New Core Colors

Welcome to the ICS July Blog Hop as we explore the wonderful new and returning Core Colors that Stampin' Up! released as part of their recent Color Refresh. I love playing with colors and coming up with new combinations for my projects. Our wonderful Design Team members will be sharing their projects and ideas using these beautiful colors to help inspire you to get creative.
I love the color blue, so for my card design, I chose to use Azure Afternoon, a new core color and Blueberry Bushel, a returning core color. I paired them with the 2022-2024 In Color, Tahitian Tide and Basic White with a touch of Silver to create a bold color block style design using the new Patchwork Pieces Dies. I love the way this design showcases how well these beautiful blues work together to create a design that works well for so many occasions.

I love the drama created by the die cuts in the three different blues for this card design. I chose to use the swirls die cut to create my background and cut one of each color. The amazing thing about this die is that you can create 3 different card fronts using the 3 different colors, just by mixing and matching the pieces. I chose to alternate the colors in the order of Blueberry Bushel, Afternoon Azure and Tahitian Tide, repeating it all the way around to complete the card front. I adhered the pieces one at a time onto a piece of 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" Basic White cardstock, aligning them along the top and left side of the cardstock and then trimming off the excess to create the finished size of 3 1/8" x 4 5/8". For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image from the Layering Leaves stamp set using Silver embossing powder onto a Blueberry Bushel circle die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies. I attached it to the bottom left corner of the card front and trimmed off the excess from the bottom and left side. I then attached the card front to the Basic White layer and added a piece of Silver Trim around the bottom of the layers. To complete the card design, I attached the finished piece to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up. This beautiful clean and simple card design would work for so many occasions and you could use this layout with other color combinations to personalize your cards.
