ICS December Blog Hop Thankfully Yours

Welcome to the ICS December Blog Hop and this month we are sharing Thank You card ideas for the theme of Thankfully Yours. Thank You cards are one of the most common cards we send, yet we tend not to think about them until we need them. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as they share their projects and ideas to help inspire you to create your own stash of Thank You cards to have ready at a moment's notice.
Today I thought I would share how you can create simply beautiful Thank You cards using designer series paper. I chose to use the Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper (item #153517) from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog, which is actually Halloween themed. Yes, you heard correctly, I said Halloween. The beauty of this amazing designer series paper is the versatility of the designs and I was able to convert one of the black and white designs with just a little ink and sponge daubers.
Products Used:
Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper (item #153517)
Free As A Bird stamp set (item #149468)
Layering Ovals Dies (item #151771)
Soft Sea Foam Cardstock (item #146988)
Blushing Bride Cardstock (item #131198)
Basic Black Cardstock (item #121045)
Gold Foil Sheets (item #132622)
Soft Sea Foam Classic Ink Pad (item #147102)
Blushing Bride Classic Ink Pad (item #147100)
Rococo Rose Classic Ink Pad (item #150080)
Gold Embossing Powder (item #109129)
Sponge Daubers (item #133773)
Metallic Pearls (item #146282)
Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush (item #141897)
Measurements:
Card 1
Blushing Bride Cardstock Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
(scored at 4 1/4")
Basic Black Cardstock Layer - 5 1/4" x 4"
Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper Layer - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
Gold Foil - For Scalloped Oval die cut with Layering Ovals Dies
Basic Black Cardstock - For Sentiment Oval die cut with Layering Ovals Dies
Card 2
Blushing Bride Cardstock Card Base - 5 1/2" x 4"
(Scored at 4 1/4")
Basic Black Cardstock Layer - 5 1/4" x 4"
Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper Layer - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
Gold Foil - For Scalloped Oval die cut with Layering Ovals Dies
Basic Black Cardstock - For Sentiment Oval die cut with Layering Ovals Dies
The key to these wonderful cards is the sponging of color on the black and white designer series paper. I used Blushing Bride Classic ink with a Sponge Dauber to apply color the flowers and the added Rococo Rose Classic ink to deepen the color in the center of the flowers and to deepen the shadows. For the background, I applied Soft Sea Foam Classic ink with a Sponge Dauber to the designer series paper, adding more color to the shadows to create depth and dimension. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Free As A Bird stamp set with Gold Embossing Powder onto Basic Black cardstock and die cut it with the smallest oval die from the Layering Ovals Dies. I die cut scalloped ovals from Gold Foil to layer behind the sentiment ovals and added them to the card front with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. The designer series paper layer was adhered to the Basic Black cardstock layer with Stampin' Seal and I added the card front to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals. To add some shimmer, I used Clear Wink of Stella on the flowers and leaves of the designer series paper. For a touch of bling, I added Gold Metallic Pearls to the sentiments to finish off the card design.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card designs will help inspire you to create your own beautiful Thank You cards. Using beautiful designer series paper is a great way to create lovely cards without the stress. The Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper is retiring and is on sale for just US$6.90, which is a great savings.
