ICS December Blog Hop Thankfully Yours

Welcome to the ICS December Blog Hop and this month we are sharing Thank You card ideas for the theme of Thankfully Yours. Thank You cards are one of the most common cards we send, yet we tend not to think about them until we need them. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as they share their projects and ideas to help inspire you to create your own stash of Thank You cards to have ready at a moment's notice.
Today I thought I would share how you can create simply beautiful Thank You cards using designer series paper. I chose to use the Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper (item #153517) from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog, which is actually Halloween themed. Yes, you heard correctly, I said Halloween. The beauty of this amazing designer series paper is the versatility of the designs and I was able to convert one of the black and white designs with just a little ink and sponge daubers.
Products Used:
Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper (item #153517)
Free As A Bird stamp set (item #149468)
Layering Ovals Dies (item #151771)
Soft Sea Foam Cardstock (item #146988)
Blushing Bride Cardstock (item #131198)
Basic Black Cardstock (item #121045)
Gold Foil Sheets (item #132622)
Soft Sea Foam Classic Ink Pad (item #147102)
Blushing Bride Classic Ink Pad (item #147100)
Rococo Rose Classic Ink Pad (item #150080)
Gold Embossing Powder (item #109129)
Sponge Daubers (item #133773)
Metallic Pearls (item #146282)
Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush (item #141897)
Measurements:
Card 1
Blushing Bride Cardstock Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
(scored at 4 1/4")
Basic Black Cardstock Layer - 5 1/4" x 4"
Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper Layer - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
Gold Foil - For Scalloped Oval die cut with Layering Ovals Dies
Basic Black Cardstock - For Sentiment Oval die cut with Layering Ovals Dies
Card 2
Blushing Bride Cardstock Card Base - 5 1/2" x 4"
(Scored at 4 1/4")
Basic Black Cardstock Layer - 5 1/4" x 4"
Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper Layer - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
Gold Foil - For Scalloped Oval die cut with Layering Ovals Dies
Basic Black Cardstock - For Sentiment Oval die cut with Layering Ovals Dies
The key to these wonderful cards is the sponging of color on the black and white designer series paper. I used Blushing Bride Classic ink with a Sponge Dauber to apply color the flowers and the added Rococo Rose Classic ink to deepen the color in the center of the flowers and to deepen the shadows. For the background, I applied Soft Sea Foam Classic ink with a Sponge Dauber to the designer series paper, adding more color to the shadows to create depth and dimension. I heat embossed the sentiment from the Free As A Bird stamp set with Gold Embossing Powder onto Basic Black cardstock and die cut it with the smallest oval die from the Layering Ovals Dies. I die cut scalloped ovals from Gold Foil to layer behind the sentiment ovals and added them to the card front with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. The designer series paper layer was adhered to the Basic Black cardstock layer with Stampin' Seal and I added the card front to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals. To add some shimmer, I used Clear Wink of Stella on the flowers and leaves of the designer series paper. For a touch of bling, I added Gold Metallic Pearls to the sentiments to finish off the card design.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card designs will help inspire you to create your own beautiful Thank You cards. Using beautiful designer series paper is a great way to create lovely cards without the stress. The Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper is retiring and is on sale for just US$6.90, which is a great savings. This paper is only available while supplies last, so make sure to place your order before it disappears.

The Joy Of Sets September Blog Hop Tri-Fold Card

Welcome to the Joy of Sets September Blog Hop as we explore different ways to create tri-fold cards. This is my first time hopping with this wonderful group of stampers and I am excited to share my card design with you this month.

This simple tri-fold card design features the Free as a Bird stamp set (item #149468) from the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog along with the coordinating Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper (item #149592). I love the soft, organic feel of this pretty paper and I chose my color combination from the colors used in this designer series paper.
I chose to use Crumb Cake card stock for the card base, cut at 5 1/2" x 11" and scored at 3" and 7 1/4". The front flap is decorated with a piece of the designer series paper that is 5 1/4" x 3 1/2". The bird image from the stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and I colored the image with Stampin' Blends Markers. To add a touch of shimmer, I colored over the bird with Clear Wink of Stella. I fussy cut the bird and attached it to a circle die cut from Pool Party cardstock using the Layering Circles Dies and layered onto an Old Olive scalloped circle cut using the same die set. I attached it to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
For the inside side panel, I added a piece of Whisper White cardstock cut at 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" and I stamped the sentiment and flower with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the flower with Stampin' Blends Markers. I attached a strip of the designer series paper cut at 1/2" x 5 1/4" and attached it to the panel so that the reverse side was showing, to provide a contrast against the front panel.
The inside panel is a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White cardstock that I stamped with the Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with the Stampin' Blends Markers. I was able to use the sentiments and images from the Free as a Bird stamp set to decorate the panels to coordinate with the designer series paper. For the sentiment on the front panel, I used the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set (item #151331) and stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and punched it out using the Classic Label Punch (item #141491) and attached the label to the circle element with Snail adhesive. To add a touch of bling, I added Basic Rhinestones to the sentiment label.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to try creating your own tri-fold card design and explore how you can use designer series paper to create your own projects.

ICS Blog Hop Introducing 2019-2021 In Colors

It's New Catalog time, which means brand new In Colors to explore, as well as fun new products available in the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalog. This month the ICS Blog Hop features the 2019-2021 In Colors and we will be sharing fun and creative projects to help inspire you to try these wonderful new colors.
To create my card design today, I chose to use Seaside Spray and Rococo Rose together. I love this color combination and I added Very Vanilla for a warmer feel to the card design. I paired these colors with the new Free As A Bird Bundle (item #151123) to create this pretty card that is suitable for a variety of occasions. I love that when you purchase the bundle, you save 10%.
To create this card, I chose Seaside Spray cardstock for the card base and added a layer of Rococo Rose cardstock to create a frame for the focal design. I used one of the dies from the Stitched Nested Labels Dies (item #149638) to die cut an opening in the Rococo Rose cardstock layer. I love that these dies create a stitched edge on both the inside and outside of the die cut. I used the leaves image from the Free As A Bird stamp set (item #149468) and stamped it onto the Rococo Rose cardstock using Rococo Rose Classic ink to create a tone on tone pattern.
To create the focal design, I stamped the birds image onto a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I then chose one of the smaller dies to die cut the image so that it would fit inside the frame with a border around the edge. I colored the image using Stampin' Blends Markers for a soft and pretty look.
To assemble the card, I added Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of the Rococo Rose cardstock frame and attached it to the Seaside Spray cardstock card base. Next, I added Snail Adhesive to the back of the focal image and carefully placed it in the center of the opening and pressed down firmly to attach it to the card base.
To finish off the card, I created the sentiment using the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set (item #146667) and the Classic Label Punch (item #141491). I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock with the Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then punched it out with the punch. I then punched out another piece from a scrap of Seaside Spray cardstock. I trimmed one end of both pieces (making sure it was the same end each piece) and layered them and attached them to the card front with Snail Adhesive.

For a touch of bling, I added Basic Rhinestones to the sentiment to complete the card design. I love how this clean and simple card design turned out and I look forward to using this color combination again in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card design will inspire you to explore these amazing new colors in your creative projects. If you live in the U.S. and do not already have a demonstrator, please contact me and I would be happy to help you.
