Welcome to the ICS June Blog Hop as we showcase the amazing new 2020-2022 In Colors from the New 2020-2021 Annual Catalog that launched today. You will be visiting with Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as they share projects and ideas created with these beautiful new colors.
My favorite color is blue so I guess it is no surprise that I chose Misty Moonlight as my focal new In Color for my card design. With that being said, I really love the way these colors work together, so I chose to use the pretty Flowers For Every Season 6"x6" Designer Series Paper Pack (item #152486) from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog to add a pop of color to my clean and simple card design.
To create this card design, I used Misty Moonlight cardstock for the card base and I added a layer of Whisper White cardstock for the background layer. I added a strip of 5 1/4" x 1" designer series paper to the left side of the Whisper White cardstock and added a piece of Misty Moonlight 1/4" Ribbon (item #153624) to cover the seam. The sentiment is from the Lovely You stamp set (item #152525) and I heat embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder onto a 3/4" strip of Misty Moonlight cardstock. To create the decorative ends to the sentiment label, I used the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch (item #152883) to punch each end of the cardstock strip. Both the stamp set and coordinating punch can be ordered as a bundle (Lovely You Bundle item #154070) to save you 10%.
I wanted to add a little embellishment behind the sentiment, so I used one of the leaf stamps from the Lovely You stamp set and heat embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder to contrast with the Misty Moonlight label. I attached the sentiment label with Stampin' Dimensionals to the card front so that it covered the bottom of the stamped design.
To complete the card design, I attached the card front to the card base using Stampin' Dimensionals to add dimension to the design. I decided not to use any other embellishments as I really liked the clean look of this card design. This card design is so simple to create and with this pretty paper coordinating with the new In Colors, there are so many wonderful possibilities to create clean and simple cards for all occasions using this simple layout.
