Welcome to the Joy Of Sets June Blog Hop as we showcase our theme "Splish Splash" with projects that have a water theme. You will be visiting blogs from around the world as we share our creative projects to help inspire you.
Today's card design showcases a returning favorite paired with some new products from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. The Sailing Home stamp set (item #149457) and coordinating Smooth Sailing Dies (item #149576) are perfect for creating a ocean theme card design and I paired it with the new Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder (item #153200) from the World of Good Suite to create the texture in the background. To create this card design, I chose Night of Navy cardstock for the card base and Balmy Blue cardstock for the background layer, which has been embossed with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder. I love how it gives the feeling of waves in the background. The sail boat and sentiment are from the Sailing Home stamp set and I stamped the sail boat image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the sentiment was heat embossed with Silver embossing powder, onto Whisper White cardstock. I used the Layering Circles Dies (item #151770) to die cut the opening for the card front, the frame and the sentiment as well as a large Whisper White cardstock circle to create the sponged background. To create the background, I sponged Balmy Blue, Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo and Seaside Spray Classic inks. I used the new Water Painters (item #151298) to color the sail boat using Balmy Blue and the new Cinnamon Cider Classic inks. This design is great for a masculine card and would be perfect for Father's Day or even a Graduation.
