Colour Combo May Blog Hop

Welcome to the Colour Combo May Blog Hop. This month we have been challenged to create a project using Calypso Coral, Gorgeous Grape and Crumb Cake. You will be visiting with Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as we share our ideas to help inspire you.
This clean and simple card design features the retiring Beautiful Day stamp set (item #151257) from the Annual Catalog. I used Shimmer Black Embossing Powder (item #149512), which is also retiring, to heat emboss the butterfly and flower images from the stamp set onto a layer of Whisper White cardstock. I love the sparkle that this embossing powder adds to the card design and how it steps up to the next level.
To color the images, I used an Aquapainter to apply color to the embossed images using Calypso Coral, Gorgeous Grape and Crumb Cake ink. For the butterfly, I used Calypso Coral and Gorgeous Grape Classic inks to color the wings, varying the intensity to create variations of color to the design. For the flower image, I used Gorgeous Grape Classic ink to color the petals and Calypso Coral Classic ink to color the center of the flower. I used Crumb Cake Classic ink to color the leaf image. I attached the Whisper White layer to a Crumb Cake cardstock card base to create the card.
For the sentiment, I heat embossed the stamp image from the Beautiful Day stamp set onto Basic Black cardstock using White Embossing Powder. I used one of the dies from the Stitched Rectangles Dies (item #148551) to die cut the sentiment and then I used the Everyday Label Punch (item #144668) to customize the ends of the label. I attached the label to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals to complete the card design.
This card was fun to create and I love how easy it is to color the images in the Beautiful Day stamp set. I will be sad to see it retire along with the Shimmer Black Embossing Powder. These products and more can be found on the Last Chance Retirement List and are available to order while supplies last or until June 2nd, 2020.
