Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop Picnic Paradise

Welcome to the July Paper Pumpkin Pop Up Blog Hop as we feature projects from the Picnic Paradise Paper Pumpkin kit. On this hop you will be visiting Stampin' Up! demonstrators from North America who will provide you with inspiration and ideas to get you creating with your kit. You may have just visited Debbi's blog and her wonderful ideas. Or perhaps you are just getting started with me. I hope that you will enjoy our projects today.

This month's kit features a fun picnic theme with cute picnic baskets and 3x3 cards. I created one of the adorable baskets following the directions in the kit, but before assembling, I used a sponge dauber and Crumb Cake ink to rub over the cardstock to bring out the details in the basket. It really adds some texture to this sweet little basket. Inside the basket are 3 different designs of the 3x3 cards along with a piece of Blueberry Bushel checked cotton paper to imitate a picnic blanket.

For the mini cards, I created one of each fruit, popping them on with Stampin' Dimensionals, on top of the Crumb Cake check vellum. I kept these cards very simple with minimal stamping and added a simple bow with the White Bakers Twine included in the kits. I did use Granny Apple Green Classic ink to stamp the sentiments for a little extra pop.

My final project is a full size card using supplies from this month's kit. I used Granny Apple Green cardstock to create the card base and added a layer of Whisper White cardstock that I embossed with the Basket Weave Dynamic Embossing Folder (item #146841). I just love that this embossing folder gives the cardstock the texture of the basket and ties in with the piece of Granny Apple Green Check Cotton Paper that I adhered to the Whisper White cardstock. The border was created with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch (item #143721) from Poppy Parade cardstock, which coordinates with the Strawberry die cut from the kit.

The focal image was created using the circle dies from the Layering Circles Framelits in Whisper White and Poppy Parade cardstock and then I layered them onto a Pearlized Doily. The large strawberry die cut was added to the Whisper White cardstock circle with Stampin' Dimensionals and I used Granny Apple Green Classic ink to sponge the edges of the leaves before adding them. I used Clear Wink of Stella on both the strawberry and the leaves for a bit of sparkle and added a small bow created from the White Bakers Twine. The sentiment was stamped with Granny Apple Green Classic ink onto one of the labels in the kit and the I stamped another label with the striped stamp in Poppy Parade Classic ink and layered them together. The sentiment was added to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals and I embellished it with Basic Pearls colored with the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blend Marker to coordinate with the card.
I hope that you have enjoyed my projects today and I hope that they show the versatility of this kit. Unfortunately this kit has sold out but you can still sign up for the August Paper Pumpkin kit by clicking here to sign up by August 10th. All new Subscribers who sign up by this date will get 50% off their first kit (kit is normally $19.95 S&H included) so that means you would get your first kit for less than $10! Now is the time to sign up and give Paper Pumpkin a try.

Now it's time to visit Melissa's blog and see what she has created with this month's kit. Just click the Next button below to visit her blog. I hope that you enjoy the rest of this blog hop.
