Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 32 - Smoky Slate

Welcome to Week 32 of the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge. This week we are showcasing Smoky Slate from the Neutrals Collection. This beautiful soft gray is so versatile and I can't wait to share what I created with it this week.

For my card design, I chose to create a clean and simple masculine card using the new Greatest Adventure stamp set from the Online Exclusives. I love the detailed train image in this stamp set and I thought it would look beautiful using Smoky Slate Classic ink. I chose to use Basic Black cardstock for my card base and sentiment label to help the Smoky Slate pop and add dimension to the design. To add texture to the background, I used the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder on the Smoky Slate cardstock layer and I chose the Deckled Rectangles Dies to create the layers for a vintage look.

This beautiful masculine card showcases how Smoky Slate can be used to create a wonderful clean and simple design. I love that the train image from the Greatest Adventure stamp set has so much detail and shading to help bring it to life with the Smoky Slate Classic ink. I wanted to give the design a vintage feeling so I chose to use the Deckled Rectangles Dies to create the layers for this card. The Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder adds the look and feel of wrinkled paper to the Smoky Slate cardstock layer which adds to the vintage feel of this card. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image with White embossing powder onto the Basic Black cardstock strip and added two of the Smoky Slate Pearls to complete the card design. I love how this design turned out and how beautiful Smoky Slate looks with Basic Black and Basic White.

Global Stamping Friends August Blog Hop Dog Days

 

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends August Blog Hop as we celebrate Dog Days. Our theme this month can be interpreted in many different ways. Maybe as a way to celebrate your favorite pet or perhaps with a fun twist as the Dog Days of Summer with the hot weather we have been experiencing lately. Our wonderful Design Team is ready to share their projects and ideas to help inspire you to get creative with this month's theme.

Dogs have this wonderful ability to help you feel better when you are not feeling well. I am lucky enough to have two beautiful dogs and they have this knack of knowing when I am sick or just not feeling good and they are there to comfort me in an instant. So I thought for today's card I would create a Get Well card using the Pets & More stamp set and the Comforting Thoughts stamp set, both available in the Online Exclusives. I chose to use Copper Clay as my focal color as I wanted something warm and welcoming. For the background, I chose to use the Tartan Foil Specialty Designer Series Paper and I love how the tone on tone design adds wonderful texture to the background.

Copper Clay Specialty Designer Series Paper

Card Front - 5" x 3 3/4"

This card design is so sweet and I love the way the images in the Pets & More stamp set work to create both the outline and the solid image for each animal. To create my dog, I stamped the outline image using Early Espresso Classic ink onto Basic White cardstock and then flipped the stamp image over and used it to stamp the solid image using Copper Clay Classic ink over the top of the lined image, making sure to stamp off once on a scrap piece of paper to give a lighter tone. I used Paper Snips to fussy cut out the image and then attached it to the detailed circle die using Stampin' Dimensionals. For the sentiment, I stamped the image from the Comforting Thoughts stamp set using Early Espresso Classic ink onto the Basic White label. To create the card design, I layered the card front onto the Basic White layer and then attached the piece of Natural Polka Dot Trim around the bottom of the card front. I then attached the layers to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up. I centered the focal image towards the top of the card front and added the sentiment over the top of the trim using Stampin' Dimensionals. To add a pop of color, I punched out two Real Red hearts using the Bee Builder Punch and added them to the sentiment label. To complete the card design, I added a Gold sequin to the dog's collar for a touch of bling.

Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 31 - Pretty Peacock

Happy Friday everyone. It's time for Week 31 of the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge and this week we are showcasing Pretty Peacock from the Regals Collection. I love this gorgeous blue-green color and how versatile it is. I hope you enjoy the card design I created this week.

For today's card design, I wanted to play with the new Sketched Butterflies Bundle from the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog. I love butterflies and I was so excited when I saw the detailed images and beautiful sentiments in this bundle. I chose to create a clean and simple birthday card using one of the patterns from the Regals 6"x6" Designer Series Paper for my background. I love the texture and detail it adds to the card design and how it gives the impression that the butterfly is flying through a forest. The Countryside Corners Dies help add a frame around the focal image that really makes the butterfly pop. I love how this card design turned out and with the wide range of sentiments and images in this bundle, you could create a variety of card designs for all occasions.

Pretty Peacock Designer Series Paper

This beautiful clean and simple card design is easy to create with just a few supplies. I love how the Countryside Corner Dies help create a frame around the focal image and sentiment and help them pop against the designer series paper card front. I stamped the butterfly with Pretty Peacock Classic ink onto a piece of Basic White cardstock and then die cut it out with the coordinating die. I also stamped the sentiment with Pretty Peacock Classic ink onto the focal layer towards the bottom. I attached the butterfly die cut with a Stampin' Dimensional towards the top of the focal layer and added several Pretty Peacock gems to decorate the body of the butterfly. I attached the focal layer to the larger Pretty Peacock die cut layer. To complete the card design, I attached the designer series paper card front to the Pretty Peacock card base and then centered the focal image onto the card front. As you can see, it comes together very quickly and easily to create a simply beautiful design.

We Create August Blog Hop Making Memories

Welcome to the We Create August Blog Hop and this month our theme is Making Memories. Our wonderful Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects. 

For my card design, I chose to use the Beside Me stamp set as it reminds me of my childhood and time spent with my Dad. I have so many wonderful memories of the things my brother and I learned from him and I thought it would provide me with the inspiration for my card design. I also chose to use the Nested Essentials Dies to help me create my layout for this clean and simple card. The Country Woods Designer Series Paper (which will be on sale beginning August 6th) has a variety of designs with amazing texture and I chose to use one of these designs for my background. I love the worn and weathered look of the painted wood background and thought it would be perfect for my card design. I chose to use Stampin' Blends Markers to color in the focal image to help add a splash of color and a banner created using one of the Gray Granite Designer Series Paper patterns adds a wonderful contrast. The pattern reminds me of one of my Dad's ties that he used to wear to work. The end result is a beautiful reminder of when my Dad taught my brother and I how to ride a bike.

For my card design, I wanted to use a combination of Neutrals and colors to create a wonderful masculine birthday. The Country Woods Designer Series Paper adds texture to the background and helps to make the rest of the design pop. To create the focal image, I stamped the image using Pebbled Path Classic ink onto a Basic White stitched rectangle and then colored in the image using Stampin' Blends Markers. I wanted the image to be bright and colorful in contrast to the rest of the card design. For the banner, I die cut it from a piece of Gray Granite Designer Series Paper, lining up the die so that I could create an extended banner. Any imperfections are hidden behind the focal image. For the sentiment, I stamped the image with Pebbled Path Classic ink onto a Gray Granite sentiment label. To assemble, I added the card front to the Gray Granite card base and then attached the Gray Granite Banner to the left side of the card front, roughly half way down the card front. I attached the focal image using Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up over the banner. For the sentiment label, I also used Stampin' Dimensionals and positioned it so that it slightly overlaps the focal image. I chose not add any embellishments, preferring to keep it simple.

Paper Pumpkin Possibilities July Blog Hop Painted Petals

Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities July Blog Hop as we showcase alternative projects featuring the Painted Petals Kit. This beautiful floral kit is a dream to create with and our Design Team is excited to share their alternative projects and ideas to help inspire you to think outside the box.

Today I have created two alternative card designs using one of the card bases from the Painted Petals Kit. I wanted to show how you can create two card fronts from one card base to create two beautiful but very different cards. I chose to use the Daisy card base and used the front of the card to create a soft and pretty design by adding it to a Mossy Meadow cardstock card base and stepped up the sentiment for an additional pop of color. For the second design, I chose to use one of the beautiful Melon Mambo floral die cuts and added it to the card front created from the back of the original card base. Once again, I used Mossy Meadow for the card base to help frame the card design. Both of these card designs would work well for a variety of occasions and it helps you to get more value from your kit.

These two cards are simple to create and they are a great way to maximize the supplies in your kit. I cut the Daisy card base from the kit into two card fronts, one from the back and one from the front. The textured background from the back for the card base works beautifully to help make the Melon Mambo floral die cut pop and I paired it with the Melon Mambo strip to help make the sentiment label pop. I used the Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up the floral die cut onto the card front and then added the Melon Mambo strip underneath using the adhesive strip from the kit. I stamped the sentiment with Mossy Meadow Classic ink onto the coordinating sentiment label and added it to the card front using the Mini Stampin' Dimensionals so that it slightly overlaps the Melon Mambo strip. To decorate the card front, I added several of the sequins included in the kit for a touch of bling and a simple Linen Thread bow to the stem of the die cut using a Mini Glue Dot. 

For the second card, I used the Daisy design from the front of the card base to create a soft and pretty look. To help make the sentiment pop, I die cut a small circle from Peach Pie cardstock using the Deckled Circles Dies and attached it to the card front just to the right of the stems. To add some texture, I tied a bow around the left side of the Old Olive strip with Linen Thread. I then attached the Old Olive strip over the top using the Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, centering it over the Peach Pie circle. I stamped the sentiment with Mossy Meadow Classic ink onto the coordinating label and adhered it to the center of the Old Olive strip. To complete the card design, I added several Peach Pie Shimmer Gems to coordinate with the centers of the daisies and the deckled circle I used for the sentiment.
