Stamping Inkspirations March Blog Hop Technique Challenge Die Cutting

Welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations March Blog Hop as we showcase projects with this month's Technique Challenge - Die Cutting. This technique is a great way to add dimension and detail to your projects and is a favorite for those of us who are not a fan of fussy cutting with Paper Snips. Our wonderful Design Team members will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to create your own beautiful projects.

There are so many ways to use Die Cutting to create your projects. For my card design today, I decided to show how you can use it to create an intricate background, to cut out stamped images to create my design and for the sentiment label to complete the card. Each one of these can help step up your card design on its own, but together they combine to create a simply Wow design. For this card design, I chose to use the Two Tone Flora Bundle which includes the Two Tone Flora stamp set and coordinating dies. For the sentiment I chose to use one of the Something Fancy Dies to die cut the sentiment from the Go To Greetings stamp set. These products work together beautifully to help create beautiful cards with just a few simple steps.

This card design is a great way to showcase the versatility of die cutting. I chose to use a warm, vibrant color palette for my design and I used Sweet Sorbet Glimmer Paper to add sparkle to the background. The intricate background design has been die cut from Basic White cardstock and I layered it over the Sweet Sorbet Glimmer Paper to help bring out the detail in the floral design. For the flowers and leaves, I stamped the images onto Basic White cardstock with a variety of ink colors and then die cut them with the coordinating dies from the Two Tone Flora Bundle. The sentiment was heat embossed with Gold embossing powder and die cut with the narrow die from the Something Fancy Dies. To assemble the card, I added Mini Stampin' Dimensionals behind the large Sweet Sorbet/Flirty Flamingo flower and arranged the smaller flowers and leaves on the card front before adding the the larger flower to the center of the design. I attached the sentiment to the card front, tucking the top right corner underneath the large flower. For a touch of bling, I added Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels to complete the card design. As you can see, this beautiful card design is relatively easy to create thanks to the die cutting of the various elements that bring it to life.

Global Stamping Friends March Blog Hop Time Marches On

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends March Blog Hop with our theme this month "Time Marches On". When I think about the month of March, I think about the transition from Winter to Spring and all the changes that happen. It's been a cold and snowy Winter here in Colorado and I am looking forward to warm, sunny days again. Our Design Team will be sharing their projects to help inspire you to get creative as we "march" towards Spring.

For my card design, I featured products from the Fancy Flora Suite from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog to create the look of a Spring garden in bloom. I love the colors in the Fancy Flora 6"x6" Designer Series Paper and I chose coordinating colors to create the flowers using the Two Tone Flora Bundle. It was so much fun playing with colors and layering the flowers to create a pretty Thinking of You card. This is not my normal style of card design and I love how it turned out. This design would work well for a variety of occasions for Spring and Summer.

One of my favorite things about this style of card, is that you get to experiment with different color combinations to create beautiful floral images. For my flowers, I chose to use Balmy Blue and Orchid Oasis Classic inks for the large flower, Fresh Freesia and Rich Razzleberry Classic inks for the medium size flowers and Orchid Oasis for the small flowers (the solid images were stamped off once to give the two tone look). For the leaves, I chose to use Soft Succulent for the long leaves and Soft Sea Foam for the smaller leaves. The great thing about the Two Tone Flora Bundle is that there are coordinating dies to cut out the stamped images, which makes life so much easier. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image from the Go To Greetings stamp set with Silver embossing powder onto Basic White cardstock and die cut it out with one of the Something Fancy Dies. I layered it onto the larger coordinating Orchid Oasis die cut to create a frame. Using Stampin' Dimensionals, I attached the sentiment label to the center of the card front and then added the flowers and leaves to create the focal design. For a touch of sparkle, I added some Glittered Organdy Ribbon using Mini Glue Dots and several of the Iridescent Pastel Gems to the centers of some of the flowers for a touch of bling. I think this is the perfect card design to welcome Spring.

Kylie Bertucci's Monthly International Blog Highlights January 2023

 

I am so excited to be participating in Kylie Bertucci's Monthly International Blog Highlights to start off 2023. Our theme is Thank You cards and at this time of the year and you will have the opportunity to visit with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as they share their projects and ideas to help inspire you. I hope that we can help spark your creativity to help you create your own beautiful projects to start off the New Year. 

One of my favorite stamp sets in the new January-April 2023 Mini Catalog, is the whimsical Silly Goose stamp set. I just love the adorable images and fun sentiments that work for so many occasions. I wanted my card design to be fun and lighthearted, so I chose to create the background using one of the beautiful floral designs from the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper, which is a Level 2 Sale-a-bration Reward you can earn free with a qualifying order. This wonderful pack of paper has 48 sheets filled with beautiful designs and pretty color combinations, perfect for Spring and beyond. I thought the color combination for this particular design fit perfectly with the colors I chose to color the goose and the floral pattern doesn't feel to heavy for the design, if that makes sense. I chose to use my favorite Framed Florets Dies to create the frame for my goose and I created the flowers to embellish the frame using the Two Tone Flora Bundle to tie in with the background design.

There is so much to love about this cute card design that I don't know where to start. The designer series paper gives this card such a cheerful feeling to it and I think it fits with the cute goose and his banner of thanks. I stamped the goose with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the Basic White oval and colored it in with the Dark Pale Papaya Stampin' Blends Marker. To give the goose a bit of dimension, I used the Light Gray Granite to add some color and then used the Color Lifter to lighten it so that there is the slightest hint of gray to its feathers. For the banner, I used the Pale Papaya Stampin' Blends Combo Pack to tie it in with the designer series paper. To help step up the card design, I decided to add some small flowers that I created using the Two Tone Flora Bundle. I stamped the flowers using Pale Papaya and Calypso Coral Classic inks and for the leaves I used Pear Pizzazz Classic ink. I die cut the images using the coordinating dies and added them to the bottom of the oval on either side of the goose image. For a touch of bling, I added small Basic Pearls to the centers of the flowers to complete the design.
