Christmas Gift Packaging ideas Stampers By the Dozen November Blog Hop

My projects were inspired by the wonderful acetate products that Stampin' Up! has to offer. Let's face it, we are all so busy during the holidays, so we can use all the help we can get. I decided to show you how you can decorate the Acetate Card Boxes (item #144628 Set of 10 boxes $6.50) and the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes (item #141699 16 boxes $7.50). Stampin' Up! does the hard work so we can do the fun part.

Starting with the Acetate Card Box, I used the Holly Textured Embossing Folder (item #141634 $7.50), to emboss the front of the box and add a little texture. I love the elegant look it gives to the acetate box. The belly band was created with a piece of 11" x 2 1/2" Garden Green cardstock that I also embossed with the Holly embossing folder. I then layered a 11" x 2" strip from the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper (item #144623) and lightly sponged it with Old Olive Classic ink along with the embossed edges of the Garden Green cardstock layer. The 7/8" Striped Ribbon is one of my favorites from the Holiday Catalog and I loved how it stepped up the look of the belly band. To finish it off I heat embossed the sentiment from the Snowflakes Sentiments stamp set with Silver embossing powder on Whisper White cardstock and die cut it with the Layering Ovals Framelits. I then layered it on a Lemon Lime Twist Scalloped Oval and attached it to the belly band with dimensionals. For a little extra bling, I added 3 Basic Rhinestones to finish it off.

I love the versatility of the acetate boxes and how easy they are to decorate. In addition to being a great way to package a set of cards and envelopes, these boxes also work well for a sweet treat filled with candy or a stationary set. They can be used for gifts for teachers, neighbors and loved ones for the holidays.

The Clear Tiny Treat Boxes are great for small gifts and so much fun to decorate. I chose to use the Reindeer image from the Seasonal Chums stamp set and I used the coordinating Seasonal Tags Framelits to die cut the image with my Big Shot. I colored the Reindeer with my Stampin' Blend Markers using Light and Dark Crumb Cake for the body, Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler for the Bow and Light and Dark Daffodil Delight for the Bell. I just love how cute he turned out. 

I layered the Reindeer image onto a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock using the Starburst Punch and punched out a circle from Garden Green cardstock using the 2 1/4 " Circle Punch. Using the 3/8" Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon, I created a simple belly band around the box and attached the image to the box with Glue dots to the front. 

On the opposite side I created the same layers and added a Silver embossed sentiment from the Santa's Suit stamp set on Thick Whisper White cardstock and punched it out with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch. I attached it to the box with Glue Dots. 

These cute little treat boxes are great for small gifts like jewelry such as a pair of earrings or a pendant. You can use them to create an Advent Calendar and put a small treat in each one as you count down to Christmas. They are quick and simple to assemble and can be used for a fun family crafting activity. You are only limited by your imagination (or Pinterest).

Stampin' Up! Blog Hop - Anything But the Holidays Blog Hop

Welcome to the Anything But the Holidays Blog Hop, featuring products from the new 2017 Holiday Catalog in a way you might not have thought to use them. We all love Holiday products but wouldn't it be great if you had ideas on how to use these products for your every day projects for added value.

With so many amazing products to choose from, I decided to use the Painted Harvest Bundle, which includes the Painted Harvest photopolymer stamp set (item #144783) and the Leaf Punch (item #144667). When you purchase these two products as a bundle (item #146021), you save 10%.

So this bundle is a Fall themed bundle in the Holiday Catalog, and I thought it would be fun to try out some non-traditional colors for the flowers to show how versatile this bundle is. I had a lot of fun playing with different color combinations and today I am sharing just two of the color combinations that I tried.

My first color combination features Berry Burst and Flirty Flamingo, two of our amazing In Colors. I loved how well they worked together and the depth it gave to the flower petals. The center of the flower was stamped with Soft Suede and the leaves were stamped using Pear Pizzazz. I punched out the leaves using the Leaf Punch to add a little depth and dimension. The flower was punched out using the Starburst Punch (item #143717) and layered onto a scalloped circle of Pear Pizzazz cut with the Layering Circles Framelits dies (item # 141705).

The Gold Snowflake adds a touch of elegance to this card and is just one of the fabulous embellishments available in the Holiday Catalog (Foil Snowflakes item #144642). I love the way the gold foil makes the flower come alive and it ties in beautifully with the gold foil oval that I used as a matte for the sentiment, which I embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. 

To add a little dimension to the card, I embossed a piece of Berry Burst cardstock with the Layered Leaves 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and highlighted the embossed leaves with Clear Wink of Stella for a touch of sparkle as well as the flower petals and stamped leaves. 

Put it all together and you have a beautiful birthday card for someone special.

My next color combination led to me creating two cards using the same layout. When I created the first card, I couldn't decide whether I wanted the card to be vertical (portrait) or horizontal (landscape). Needing help, I posted my dilemma on my Facebook page and asked my followers what they thought. After many wonderful responses and suggestions, it still ended up a tie. Some people suggested I do both, so that is what I did. It is a good example of how you can create a design that will work in either direction to create a beautiful card. 

Both cards were created using the same color palette: Sweet Sugarplum and Rich Razzleberry for the flower petals and Crumb Cake for the center of the flower. The leaves were stamped using Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz.  I added a touch of Clear Wink of Stella to the flowers and leaves for a little sparkle. I layered the stamped panel onto a layer of Rich Razzleberry cardstock and then mounted it onto an Old Olive card base. 

The frame and sentiments were stamped from the Rose Wonder photopolymer stamp set (140697) and I embossed them with Gold Embossing Powder for a touch of elegance. I die cut the sentiment using the frame thinlet from the Rose Garden Thinlets dies. I used the smallest pearls from the Pearl Basic Jewels to embellish the sentiment and then layered it onto a piece of Gold 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon.

Great Bootiful Occasions Swaps & Samples from Denver Regional

Hi Everyone,

Today I thought I would share some photos of samples on the display boards as well swaps I received at the Denver Regional last weekend.  These card designs feature a new stamp set in the 2012-2013 Catalog that I hadn't really looked at closely, but I must say I have since fallen in love with. The stamp set I am talking about, is the Bootiful Occasions stamp set which can be found on page 50 of the catalog and contains 5 stamp images you will love, especially if you love boots and will work for occasions throughout the year.

This first card was a swap card on display and I love this Christmas card design. The sparkle on the trim of the boots adds a little bling to this clean and simple design. Change the color of the boots and add a different sentiment and you could personalize this card to suit any occasion just right for that special person.

 

This second card design was featured on one of the display boards and I love the bright colors and cheerful design, it just brightens your day to look at it. This cute pair of Wellington boots was created by stamping the image twice and cutting out one boot to overlap the other.  This would be a great Get Well Card or Thinking of You card.

 

The next card sample is a swap I received from Sharon Pettit, a demonstrator visiting from Albuquerque, New Mexico.  I love the color combination she used for this card design and this would be a great idea for a masculine card.  The boot has been cut out and popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals and the gold brads are the perfect embellishment to finish off the card.

 

The last two cards I have to share with you today are fabulous Halloween Cards that add a little style to this spooky holiday. This first card design was featured on the Halloween Display board and I love the cute spider background created using the postage stamp punch. The web image is from the stamp set Wicked Cool (page 28) and the cute little spider is from the stamp set Spooky Bingo Bits (page 29).  I love the combination of Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black and the 1/8" Basic Black Taffeta ribbon makes a cute embellishment to the boot.

 

The second Halloween card is a card front I received as a swap from Sherry Huxtable, a demonstrator from Wichita, Kansas. I just love the bling on this card provided by the new Champagne Glimmer paper found in the new Holiday catalog on page 18. I love the way she used it as a background to make the boot image pop, but she also used the small circle punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack to create the accents to embellish the card.
