Colour Combo August Blog Hop

Welcome to the Colour Combo August Blog Hop as we explore the color combination of Blackberry Bliss, Pacific Point Blue and Pear Pizzazz. You will be visiting with Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world as they share their projects using this fun color combination. I hope our projects inspire you to give these colors a try.
For this month's color challenge, I decided to create a fun Halloween card using the new Boo To You stamp set (item #150550) along with the Ornate Frames Dies (item 3150664) and Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder (item #150665) from the Monster Bash Suite that can all be found in the new 2019 Holiday Catalog that will be available to customers beginning September 4th, 2019.
I started off with a Basic Black cardstock card base and added a layer of Pear Pizzazz cardstock as a matte to the Blackberry Bliss cardstock layer that I embossed using the Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder. I die cut two strips of Pear Pizzazz using the Delicate Lace dies (item #147053) and attached them to the top and bottom of a 3"x5 1/4" layer of Basic Black cardstock.
To create the focal layer, I cut a 2 3/4"x5 1/8" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped the two images from the Boo To You stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  Using an Aquapainter and Blackberry Bliss, Pacific Point and Pear Pizzazz Classic ink pads, I water colored the images to bring them to life. The bright, vibrant colors made my werewolf and zombie look like they were all dressed up to go to their Halloween Party.
For the final touch, I stamped the sentiment from the Boo To You stamp set onto Pear Pizzazz cardstock using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using Shimmer Black Embossing Powder (item #149512) for a touch of sparkle. Using the Ornate Frames Dies, I die cut the sentiment using the smaller frame and then die cut a piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock using the slightly larger frame to create the matte.

I love this cute Halloween card and the images would be fun to use for birthday cards for young and old. As for the new embossing folder and dies, they are very versatile and can be used from projects well beyond Halloween.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card design helps you to see how you can create wonderful projects exploring new color combinations and that Halloween cards do have to be gloomy. If you live in the U.S. and do not already have a demonstrator, please contact me and I would be happy to help you with your creative journey.

2018 Kre8tors September Blog Hop Sympathy

Welcome to the 2018 Kre8tors September Blog Hop. This month our theme is Sympathy, a card that is often difficult to create but can provide comfort to the person receiving it. Our Design Team Members from all over the world will be sharing with you their heartfelt designs to help provide you with some inspiration.

You may have just visited Jan's blog or perhaps you are beginning your blog hop journey here with me. I hope that you will find our creations helpful.

For my sympathy card design, I chose to use the Abstract Impressions stamp set (item #147513) from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog to create a floral background on a strip of Whisper White cardstock. I chose Gorgeous Grape Classic ink to stamp the flowers, stamping off once to get the lighter shade and then using the ink at full strength for the darker shading. The leaves and stems were stamped using Granny Apple Green Classic ink and Shaded Spruce Classic ink to provide contrast.

I layered the Whisper White cardstock panel onto a matte of Gorgeous Grape cardstock and then added a layer of Shaded Spruce cardstock which had been die cut using one of the Delicate Lace Edgelits (item #147053) to create a beautiful and intricate border on each side.
The sentiment is from the Abstract Impressions stamp set and I stamped it using Gorgeous Grape Classic ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock and then I created a banner on one end using the Triple Banner Punch (item #138292). I attached it to the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals. To complete the card I attached the card front to a Thick Whisper White cardstock card base.

I wanted my sympathy card to provide comfort during a difficult time and I thought the sentiment from this stamp set provided a beautiful way to convey love and support. I chose colors that I thought were calm and soothing and suited the theme of the card.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that you have enjoyed the card that I have shared. Now it's time to visit Ilonka's blog and see what she has created this month. Just click on the Next button below to visit her blog or use the Blog Hop Roll Call List to find your way.
