SBTD Blog Hop Cards or Gifts for Children

Welcome to June's Stampers By The Dozen (SBTD) Blog Hop and this month we are focusing on cards and gifts for children. I love creating projects for kids because it is so much fun to play with bright colors and cheerful images.

When I think about cards for kids, I think of birthday cards and celebrating reaching that one year older. I fell in love with the Postcard Pals stamp set from the New 2018-2019 Annual Catalog and thought it would be perfect for kids.

I chose to use Blueberry Bushel cardstock for the card base as I love this beautiful vibrant blue from the new 2018-2020 In Colors. It works perfectly with the layer of Coastal Cabana cardstock, which is a returning color joining the revamped color collections. I embossed the Coastal Cabana cardstock with the Ruffled 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to give the appearance of waves. I added a layer of Blueberry Bushel Designer Series Paper from the 2018-2020 In Color 6"x6" Designer Series Paper pack (item #146963), along the left side of the card. I loved that the small polka dots gave the appearance of bubbles.
The pelican image has been stamped onto a Whisper White cardstock circle using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The circle was die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies using the largest circle. I colored the cute pelican with Stampin' Blend Markers. I love the bright colors of these markers and they really helped bring him to life. The sentiment was stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White cardstock with Blueberry Bushel Classic ink and I flagged the ends to create a banner using the Tailored Tag punch. To add a little sparkle, I added silver sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortmant using Mini Glue Dots.

This adorable card would be perfect for either a boy or a girl and the Postcard Pals stamp set has a variety of sentiments that you can choose from to personalize your card design. This is just one of the cute images in this stamp set and I can't wait to try the others.

I hope you have had fun visiting my blog today and I hope my card helps inspire you to create fun cards for your children. Now it's time to visit Lyndsay's blog and see what she has created for this month's challenge. Just click the Next button below to visit her blog.

Painted Glass - What's New at Stampin' Up! Blog Hop

Welcome to the new What's New at Stampin' Up! Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world excited to share our projects created using products from the New 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  You may have just visited  Mary Ann's wonderful blog or perhaps you are starting your journey here. I hope that you will find our projects inspiring.

One of my favorite bundles from the new catalog is the Painted Glass bundle. The Painted Glass stamp set and Stained Glass thinlets die set coordinate beautifully to create gorgeous projects.

For my card base I chose the new In Color, Blueberry Bushel, and accented it with Silver Foil using the thinlets dies to create the intricate detailed lattice. The roses and sentiment were stamped and heat embossed with Silver embossing powder onto Whisper White cardstock and I used the framelit to die cut the roses. The roses were colored using Lovely Lipstick and Call Me Clover Classic ink pads and a blender pen for a soft water color look. Both of these colors are also in the new In Color collection.

I highlighted the roses with Clear Wink of Stella for a touch of shimmer and attached them to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals. The layer of Blueberry Bushel cardstock was attached to the cardstock with Stampin' Dimensionals to add dimension to the card.

This card design is simple to create but has a wonderful Wow factor to it. I love the way the Silver Foil pops against the Blueberry Bushel cardstock. The font of the sentiment is beautiful and fits perfectly with the rest of the card design.

I hope you have enjoyed my card design and I hope it inspires you to try the new Painted Glass bundle for your own projects. Now it's time to visit Ginny's blog and see what she has to share with us. Just click the Next button to visit her blog. We would love it if you would leave us a comment and share your thoughts about our projects. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
