Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 23 - Blackberry Bliss

 

Welcome to Week 23 of the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge and this week we are showcasing Blackberry Bliss from the Neutrals Collections. This beautiful purple is so versatile and I can't wait to share what I created with it this week.

For my card design today, I chose to create a calm, peaceful design to provide comfort during a difficult time. I chose to use the Quiet Reflection stamp set to create the focal panel and added some texture using the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder. To achieve the different shades of purple, I used a Blending Brush with the Blackberry Bliss Classic ink to create the background layer and I stamped the detailed image several times onto Basic White cardstock to create the focal image. I love how soothing this design is and how the different shades of Blackberry Bliss work to create this pretty card design.

This beautiful card is all about layers of color that I was able to achieve using the Blackberry Bliss Classic ink. For the background layer, I applied a layer of color to the Basic White color using a Blending Brush to create a lighter, softer version of this pretty purple. For the texture. I embossed the two Blackberry Bliss panels that I die cut using the Deckled Rectangles Dies. For the focal design, I stamped the image three times, starting with the main image in the center and then stamping again on either side to create an extended version of the image. I also lightly blended the color along the bottom and top of the image using the Blending Brush with the ink left over in the Blending Brush from the background layer. This helps to soften and create different layers of color for a misty look. For the sentiment, I stamped the image onto Basic White cardstock and die cut it out with one of the circle dies from the Everyday Details Dies. I colored several of the small Iridescent Pearls using the Light Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blends Marker to add subtle embellishments to the design. I attached the two Blackberry Bliss panels to the background layer, leaving a gap in between the two pieces. I then added the focal image in the middle, popping it up with Stampin' Dimensionals, so that it overlaps the top and bottom panels. I then added the sentiment towards the bottom right corner so that it slightly overlaps the focal panel. I love how this card design turned out and how I was able to create the different layers of color using Blackberry Bliss.

Colour Combo June Blog Hop

Welcome to June's Colour Combo Blog Hop. This month we have been challenged to use the color combination of Blackberry Bliss, Crumb Cake and Petal Pink. I am excited about this month's combo as it includes a brand new color, Petal Pink, along with a returning color, Blackberry Bliss, to help challenge our creativity. You will be visiting blogs featuring projects created by Stampin' Up! demonstrators from all over the world. I hope that you enjoy the journey. 

For my card design, I chose to use Crumb Cake cardstock for my card base. This color is a wonderful neutral and I love the way it makes the layer of Blackberry Bliss cardstock stand out. I layered a piece of Petal Pink Designer Series Paper from the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper pack (item #14626) onto the Blackberry Bliss layer and I love the way these colors contrast. 

I added a 1 1/4" strip of Blackberry Bliss cardstock for the sentiment and chose the Thank You sentiment from the Love What You Do stamp set (item #148042) and heat embossed it with White embossing powder. 

I layered a Pearlized Doily behind the Blackberry Bliss cardstock to add a little detail to the card front. To finish off the card design, I added Basic Pearls to both sides of the sentiment. It's hard to tell from the photos, but both the designer series paper and the doily have a lovely pearlized sheen to them and the pearls coordinated perfectly.

The Share What You Love Suite has beautiful products that coordinate to help you create simply elegant cards and projects. I love the way the stamp set, designer series paper and doilies all work together to create this lovely card design.
