Welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations January Blog Hop and we are starting off 2025 with a Sketch Challenge to help warm us up. Our wonderful Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to explore creating your own beautiful projects using this month's sketch for inspiration. Sketches are a great way to spark creativity, especially if you are struggling to get started. It's like having a road map or a plan that can help prompt your imagination.
I love using sketches as a way to create fun card designs. With Valentine's Day just over a month away, I wanted to show how you can create a beautiful card design without having to do any stamping. Using the sketch layout, I chose to create a bold, bright design using the Full of Life Designer Series Paper with the Mix & Match Ephemera Packs from the new January-April 2025 Mini Catalog.

This sketch was a lot of fun and I admit it really challenged me to think outside my comfort zone. I recently ordered several of the new Mix & Match Ephemera Packs from the January-April 2025 Mini Catalog and I wanted to explore creating a card design that had no stamping by using different elements from these packs. For my background design, I chose to use one of the patterns from the Full of Life 6"x6" Designer Series Paper and I loved the contrast of the bold, vibrant colors against the Basic White background layer. I chose one of the tags from the Washes & Florals Tags Mix & Match Ephemera Pack for my focal layer and added several elements and a sentiment label from the Celebrate Love Mix & Match Ephemera Pack to create the focal design. I loved how the different elements coordinated to have it all come together. For the twine and bow element, I wrapped a piece of White Baker's Twine around the card front twice and tied a bow on the right side near the edge. I made sure that the twine was placed about halfway across the card front and then added the focal tag over the top using Stampin' Dimensionals, so that the bow was against the right edge of the tag. I chose not to add any bling, instead letting the bold colors and the design elements shine for this design.
