It's time to start off the Around The World On Wednesday January Blog Hop with a fun This or That Challenge to help spark your creativity. Our wonderful Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to help show you different possibilities to see if you prefer This or That.
With the new January-April 2025 Mini Catalog going live yesterday, I thought this challenge would be the perfect opportunity to show how to create two different cards using two of the new products from the new mini catalog. I chose to showcase the new Hugs For Love Bundle with the Timeless Plaid 6"x6" Designer Series Paper to create two clean and simple card designs that would work for Valentine's Day or just as a way to let someone know that you care about them. The "This" card design combines Misty Moonlight and Boho Blue for a more masculine feel while the "That" card design combines Moody Mauve with a touch of Pretty In Pink for a more feminine look. I love that the Hugs For You Bundle combines a wonderful range of sentiments and images that work perfectly with the coordinating punch to take the stress out of creating.

Making clean and simple cards would have to be one of my favorite things, especially when I want to create a bunch of them in a short span of time. It's a great technique whether you are a beginner or an experienced crafter. For both of my card designs, I chose to go with a monochromatic color scheme and I love the more muted colors of Moody Mauve and Misty Moonlight for this time of year. To create the background layer for each of the sentiment labels, I cut the colored label in half and then attached it to the back of the sentiment label so that it creates a slim frame. For a touch of bling, I chose to use the Tinsel Gems Four Pack which has pink and blue gems that coordinate perfectly with the designer series paper to complete both cards.
So which do you prefer? This or That? I would love it if you would let me know in the comments.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I hope that my card designs will show you how much fun you can have by mixing and matching different products to come up with your own beautiful designs. There are so many wonderful options to explore in the new January-April 2025 Mini Catalog.

Two great colour combos Tricia ... I am very partial to the blue tones! xx
ReplyDeleteNice cards! I like the Moody Mauve best
ReplyDeleteI like the pink as it's perfect for Valentines, but I loove the blue today. Perfectly sweet design either way.
ReplyDeleteThis ! I love the off-centre feel!
ReplyDeleteBoth so lovely! I am leaning towards “This” as I love my blues and I also like the focus of the card off-center.
ReplyDeleteTwo little sweetheart cards! I favour the blue 'this' because the off-centre sentiment feels nice to me. :-)
