Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 43 - Petal Pink

Welcome to week 43 of the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge. It's hard to believe we only have a few more weeks left with just a handful of colors to complete the challenge. This week we are showcasing Petal Pink, one of my favorite pinks and one that I use a lot for so many occasions. I hope that my card design will help inspire you to give Petal Pink a second look and maybe you will love it as much as I do.
For this week's card design, I wanted to create a Fall themed design with a bit of a twist. Petal Pink has a slightly orange tint to it which works well for this season and I thought it was a softer tone than the usual Pumpkin Pie that we often associate with Fall. I love hot cocoa and I thought it would be perfect to use for my card design. For this card design, I paired the new More Than Autumn Bundle with the Country Lace Designer Series Paper to create a yummy card that shows just how much I love the recipient of this card.

For today's card design, I chose to pair Petal Pink with Pecan Pie to create a warm, welcoming design. I thought that Pecan Pie was the perfect color to represent hot cocoa and used the Pecan Pie Stampin' Blends Combo Pack to color the cup image to give it that rich cocoa feel. Instead of stamped the hot cocoa sentiment, I chose to use the detailed dies from the More Than Autumn Bundle to die cut the sentiment from Pecan Pie cardstock and I love the way it pops on the Petal Pink designer series paper. I wanted to keep the layer out pretty simple and let the focal image and sentiments tell the story. I love the subtle texture that the designer series paper adds to the background without being overwhelming. To complete the card design, I added two of the Adhesive Backed Swirl Dots, that just happen to be Petal Pink, for a subtle touch of bling. For some people, Pumpkin Spice Lattes are there thing, but for me it is Hot Cocoa all the way. So whoever receives this beautiful card, they will know just how much I love them.
