Global Stamping Friends July Blog Hop Jolly July

Let's celebrate July with this month's Global Stamping Friends Blog Hop. Our theme this month is Jolly July and I thought I would create a fun clean and simple Christmas card design to celebrate Christmas in July. It's so nice to be able to craft inside while it's so hot outside and get an early start on my holiday projects.
Coming up with a Christmas card design was actually quite challenging as I don't have a lot of current Christmas themed products to choose from, so I needed to get a little creative. I started off with one of the sketches from page 22 of the 2024-2025 Annual Catalog and then flipped it so that it was horizontal instead of vertical. I love using big sentiments and I knew that the More Wishes stamp set would have just what I needed for my card design. Because I didn't have any Christmas designer series paper on hand, I chose to use one of the Real Red designs from the Regals 6"x6" Designer Series Paper pack to create the strips for my background. The cute little penguin is from the new Choose Happy stamp set and he adds just the right amount of whimsy to finish off my card.

Measurements:
Real Red Cardstock
Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Sentiment Label die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies
Basic White Cardstock
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
Sentiment Strip - 1 1/2" x 4"
Small Circle die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies
Real Red Designer Series Paper
3 Strips - 1" x 4 1/2"
To create this fun holiday card, I used the sketch to create the layout for my design. I added the designer series paper strips to the Basic White card front, spacing them evenly. I stamped the large Christmas sentiment using Real Red Classic ink onto the strip of Basic White cardstock, positioning it towards the left side of the strip. I heat embossed the Merry sentiment using Gold embossing powder onto the Real Red sentiment banner. For the penguin, I stamped the image with Tuxedo Black ink onto the small Basic White circle and colored in the beak and feet with the Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker to add a pop of color. To assemble the card, I added the large sentiment strip onto the card front, slightly towards the left side, in between the middle and bottom designer series paper strips. I attached the circle using Stampin' Dimensionals at the end of the Basic White strip on the right side. I then attached the smaller banner above the Basic White strip using Stampin' Dimensionals. To help step up the design, I added several Gold sequins to add a touch of bling.

Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge Week 27 - Old Olive

Welcome to Week 27 of the Crafty Collaborations Monochromatic Color Challenge. This week we are showcasing Old Olive from the Regals Collection and for my design, I chose a clean and simple card using the Spotlight on Nature Bundle.
Creating clean and simple card designs can be challenging and I wanted to show how you could use both the stamp set and coordinating dies to create a simple design that has subtle details to help step it up to the next level.
Products Used:
Spotlight On Nature Bundle (item #163581)
Old Olive Cardstock (item #100702)
Very Vanilla Cardstock (item #101650)
Old Olive Classic Ink Pad (item #147090)
Silver & White 1/2" Sheer Ribbon (item #162149)
Adhesive Backed Dragonflies & Birds (item #162743)
Blending Brushes (item #153611)
Mini Glue Dots (item #103683)
Measurements:
Old Olive Cardstock
Card Base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Very Vanilla Cardstock
Card Front - 5 1/4" x 4"
For my clean and simple card, I chose to create a one layer design that helps to showcase the versatility of Old Olive. This wonderful green is perfect for cards for all seasons and today I chose to create Summer themed Thank You card. I used one of the detailed circle dies from the coordinating Spotlight on Nature Dies to create my mask with printer paper and applied a soft, even layer of Old Olive Classic ink using a Blending Brushed using the negative space onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Once I had achieved the color I wanted, I inserted the detailed circle back inside the negative space and then gently applied more Old Olive Classic ink over the top to get the detail onto my background. Next, I stamped the detailed leaves image from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set onto the masked circle using Old Olive Classic ink to create a beautiful tone on tone design. I also stamped the sentiment to complete the design. To help step up the card, I colored a piece of the Silver & White Sheer Ribbon with the Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends Marker and added it to the bottom of the card front, attaching it with Mini Glue Dots to the back. To complete the card design, I added several Adhesive Backed Dragonflies for a touch of bling. I love the softness of this design and how it showcases the different shades of Old Olive and how they all work together.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today. I hope that my card design will help you to see the wonderful versatility of Old Olive and help inspire you to give it a try when creating your own beautiful projects. Stampin' Up! has a wonderful variety of coordinating products to help take the stress out of creating while providing you with wonderful options to help you explore your creativity.
