We Create August Blog Hop Never Too Early

Can you believe it is September already? I can't believe how quickly this year is flying by. Today we are hopping along with the We Create September Blog Hop and our theme is "Never Too Early". As we get ready to switch to Fall soon, I start thinking about the holiday season and the opportunity to create fun projects for Fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and Winter. That's a lot to look forward to, so I think it's never too early to create for the holidays. Which one do you think I will choose for today?

I love Halloween so I am super excited to get started on creating projects ready for this fun holiday. Even though my kids are all grown up, I still enjoy making spooky fun cards and treats to celebrate. Luckily, there are several Halloween products in the Online Exclusives that are perfect for both of these types of projects. Today I am playing with the new Playful Ghosts stamp set and I paired it with one of the designs from the Iconic Celebrations 6"x6" Designer Series Paper. There is something about Moody Mauve that is perfect for this holiday and I paired it with Blackberry Bliss to create this sweet card design.

Ghost image stamped with Playful Ghosts stamp set and fussy cut with Paper Snips

This clean and simple Halloween card is easy to create and I had fun using a variety of Stampin' Blends markers to color in the focal image to add a pop of color to the card design. I also heat embossed the sentiment with White embossing powder and the clouds with Clear embossing powder to help step up the design. I love the detail around the edge of the focal circle that I die cut using the Spotlight on Nature Dies. For the card front, I chose the Moody Mauve stars patterned paper from the Iconic Celebrations to give the feeling of a night sky. I love that this pack of paper has such a wonderful variety of designs suitable for all the upcoming holidays. The Basic Rhinestones add a touch of bling to give the look of stars sparkling in the evening sky. Creating this card design has really put me in the mood for Halloween and I can't wait to create more projects using these fun products.

Stamping With Friends July Online Exclusives Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stamping With Friends July Online Exclusives Blog Hop as we showcase the amazing products available online only in the Online Exclusives including new products just released this month. Our wonderful Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to help spark your creativity to create your own beautiful creations.

For today's card design, I decided to showcase the new Greetings of the Season stamp set with the coordinating Season of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper to create an elegant Christmas card design. Instead of using green and gold for my color combination, I chose to use Night of Navy, Very Vanilla and Gold to show how you can customize the beautiful paper to create your own unique designs. For the sentiment, I used the Spotlight on Nature Dies to create the focal design and I just love the intricate detail around the edge of the circle die cut. In addition, I used several of the Gold Adhesive Snowflakes, which can also be found in the Online Exclusives, to help finish off the card design.

I love using designer series paper to make beautiful clean and simple card designs, especially when I can color it to create my own special backgrounds. For this card design, I chose to transform it by first applying Boho Blue Classic ink using a Blending Brush to add a soft, even coverage of color. Next, I added Night of Navy Classic ink with a blending brush to create a subtle two tone look to the background and then used a tissue to wipe off the excess ink from the gold embossed background. For the focal image, I heat embossed the sentiment from the Greetings of the Season stamp set with Gold embossing powder onto the Night of Navy detailed circle die cut and added it to the center of the card front using Stampin' Dimensionals. I attached the card front to the Very Vanilla cardstock layer and then attached it to the Night of Navy card base with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up. To complete the card design, I added several Gold Adhesive Backed Snowflakes to the card front. I then colored several Basic Jewels using the Dark Night of Navy Stampin' Blends Marker and added them to the centers of the Gold Snowflakes. I love the simple elegance of this card design and how the blended color changes the look of the designer series paper. Just think of all the wonderful options available to you with this fun technique.

Stamping Inkspirations July Blog Hop Christmas In July Color Challenge

Welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations July Blog Hop and this month we have a Christmas in July Color Challenge to help spark our creativity. Our wonderful Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to help inspire you to explore using one of the color challenge options to create your own beautiful projects. Let the fun begin.

For this month's challenge, I chose to use the above image featuring the following color combination: Old Olive, Poppy Parade, Peach Pie, Basic Beige and Balmy Blue. I thought this color combination would be perfect to use with the new Filled With Cheer stamp set which has just been released as part of the new Online Exclusives products. Interesting fact about this fun Christmas themed stamp set is that it coordinates with the Filled With Fun Dies to give you even more options.

Snow Globe base die cut with the Filled With Fun Dies

For my card design today, I wanted to CASE the sample shown above that can be found in the Online Exclusives when you search for the Filled With Cheer stamp set. I love the idea of a snow globe, especially as it is 100+ degrees here in Colorado and the thought of cold, snowy weather sounds really good right now. To create the opening for the snow globe, I used one of the Spotlight on Nature Dies to die cut a large circle from the Balmy Blue card front layer. I then embossed the cardstock with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder to add some texture and detail to the design. To create the scene for the snow globe, I lightly drew a pencil line around the inside of the circle onto the Basic White cardstock layer to help me position the stamp image. I stamped the snowman scene using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored the images using Stampin' Blends Markers. I did add Pecan Pie to my color palette from one of the other challenge images to customize my colors to fit the design. I used Pecan Pie to color the sled, Old Olive to color the tree, Poppy Parade for the ornaments, scarf and headband, Peach Pie for the carrot nose and star and Basic Black for the hat and buttons. To help the snowman stand out a bit more, I used Light Balmy Blue Stampin' Blends Marker to color around the outline and the detail lines in the snow and then blended it with the Color Lifter to soften it.

For the base of the snow globe, I stamped the cart image using Basic Beige Classic ink onto Basic Beige cardstock and die cut it out with the coordinating die from the Filled With Fun Dies. I turned it upside down and attached it across the bottom of the circle to create the base. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the image using Gold embossing powder onto the Poppy Parade sentiment label and attached to across the top of the base so that it covers the bottom part of the circle opening. To assemble the card, I attached the Basic White stamped layer to the card base and the attached the Balmy Blue card front over the top using Stampin' Dimensionals, making sure to line it up over the base so that the edges are covered. To complete the design, I added several Gold snowflake Adhesive Backed Sequins and then added Peach Pie Shimmer Gems in the centers to give them some added sparkle. I love how fun this Christmas card design is and I can't wait to try other versions using different images.
