Welcome to the Paper Pumpkin Possibilities June Blog Hop and this month we are creating wonderful alternative project ideas with the Pick Of The Crop Kit. This beautiful kit is perfect for Summer themed projects and our wonderful Design Team will be sharing their projects and ideas to help you think outside the box.
When I first saw the designs in this kit, I thought of our time living in Europe and our trips to Paris. My husband and I would often stop off at the local markets in the streets and pick up food for our midday meals, as we wandered the city, sightseeing. So I thought that this memory would be my inspiration for my alternative card design, using elements from the kit along with the Bottled Happiness Bundle. I love how they work together to create a wonderful Summer picnic themed card design.

The card base I chose, had a wonderful picnic blanket image printed on it, which made it the perfect background for my design. I stamped the bottle image with Soft Succulent Classic ink and punched it out with the coordinating Vintage Bottle Punch. I also stamped the cork and the label for the bottle with Crumb Cake Classic ink and stamped the sentiment on the label with Night of Navy Classic ink. In addition, I stamped two sets of the blueberries with Night of Navy Classic ink and colored them with a Blender Pen using the ink from the stamped images. I fussy cut out all the images ready to assemble the card design. I love the way all the stamped images worked with the cheese and lavender die cuts to create the feeling of a picnic. I popped the cheese up with Stampin' Dimensionals to create depth and dimension to the design. For the sentiment, I used the Calypso Coral ink spot from the kit to stamp the image onto the tag from the kit and tied a piece of the Linen Thread (included in the kit) through the hole of the label. I added the sentiment to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals to help it stand out. I love how this card design turned out and that it was inspired by a wonderful memory from years ago.
