GSF April Blog Hop Rainbow

Welcome to the Global Stamping Friends (aka GSF) April Blog Hop and our theme this month is Rainbow. You will be visiting with talented Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world as they share their ideas and projects to help inspire you.
Today I decided to use the beautiful Brights 6"x6" Designer Series Paper (item #152487) to create this fun and cheerful birthday card. Using strips from 7 different colors, I created the rainbow, using the polka dot pattern from this designer series paper pack. I used Basic Black cardstock for the background to help make these bright colors pop and I love the contrast of Black and White that creates a frame for these wonderful colors. I used the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set (item #148618) for my sentiment and heat embossed it onto Black cardstock to help it stand out. This card design works well for people of all ages and is a wonderful way to celebrate a special day.
Products Used:

Everyday Label Punch (item #144668)
Thick Basic White Cardstock (item #159229)

Silver 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon (item #144213) Retiring

Stampin' Dimensionals (item #104430)
Measurements:
Basic White Cardstock
Card Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (Scored at 4 1/4")
Basic Black Cardstock
Background Layer for strips - 4 7/8" x 3 5/8"
Background Matte Layer - 5" x 3 3/4"
Sentiment Label punched with the Everyday Label Punch
Brights 6"x6" Designer Series Paper (polka dot pattern)
3/4" x 3 1/2" - 1 Strip of each of the following colors:
Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point, Gorgeous Grape
This clean and simple card design is easy to create and assemble. To create the rainbow of strips, I adhered each of the strips to the Basic Black cardstock layer (4 7/8" x 3 5/8") in rainbow order, leaving a slim border between each strip. I then attached this layer to the Basic Black matte background layer to create a frame around the focal pattern. I attached a piece of the Silver Metallic Edge Ribbon around the middle of this layer and added the sentiment label on top with Stampin' Dimensionals. The sentiment was heat embossed with White embossing powder and I added small Basic Rhinestone Jewels to decorate the label. To complete the card design, I attached the focal layer to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up.
